Chapter 1: Thug Fight

Before the World Greatest Modern War began... In the small district at Quezon City.

The street was heavily dark.

No figure can be seen except the guy standing beside the pole that was emitting a small dim light.

The human leaned to the pole as he can't stand properly.

The light from the pole was so dim preventing anyone to see his face clearly, the only thing you can tell is that he is a male based on his overshadowed body.

The young man is staring beyond the light like there was something there

As he stares into the dark, a couple of human figures step inside the light.

(One, two, three... Eight of them.)

The figures are all male wearing long ripped jeans, saggy shirts, and so-called cool hats.

If one would describe them they were thugs.

Thugs are quite common in this place within Q.C most of them are teens.

Looks like the thugs were quite beaten too with bruises all over their body.

The thugs glared at the man who was leaning at the pole.

The young man glared back not backing from these 8 thugs.

Their fight was started not so long ago as they are quite beaten up right now.

Eight of them would try to pounce the man yet they don't as they don't know what was the young man thinking.

They still glare at each other not backing down from one another, as if they will lose if they backed down.

The cold chilling air vibrates through the whole street making it even more intense.

No one didn't move as they are waiting for each to go first.

The young man leaning at the pole thanked the situation as he gathers his breath.

Everyone can tell that the eight was nervous to this one lone man.

Should they wait? Fight? Retreat? None of them can decide on a choice e.

*badump badump* you could hear their hearts beating fast as they take a one step closer to the man.

One of them decided to not move and stay in his position while the rest start to take one step.

*thud* They take another one small step closer as their instinct shouting them to stop.

The young man saw their bravery as they taking small steps closer to him.

As he finished gather his breath he takes a stance preparing for a fight.

The eight saw him finally move from his spot and immediately halt after he takes his stance. 

*gulp* eight of them swallowed their saliva feeling fear from this lone man.

This is it. It's now or never. Were prepared for this.

They were now prepared to bet everything. They resolved themselves.

Eight of them take their stance as they accept this young man challenge.

The young man read their action and immediately went straight to them. 

It went without saying it was a beautiful spectacular fight.

Eight thugs and the lone man were all lying in every place of the street like trash that had been thrown anywhere.

All of them were in pain but thankfully no one died.

It was spectacular if one would describe the fight but sadly no one other than them is the only people here in the streets that night.

*groan* The young man wakes up from his deep slumber.

He held head massaging it thoroughly as he forcing his headache to go away.

The pain from his head was still there.

He gave up from massaging his head as he stands up from this bed.

(Bed?) He examines his sudden change of surroundings. 

(A room? Bedroom?) He first saw the bookshelves on the corner of the room, next was the small round table in the side of the balcony with two chairs aligned at each other.

It was a clean and neat room. The young man doesn't have a single clue how he ended up being here.

He was sure that he was fallen unconscious right after the battle.

(This comfy feeling from the bed was familiar.) He sniffed the blanket and the pillow as to know who was the one dragged him here.

*sniff sniff sniff* If someone would saw him they will call him a weirdo or a pervert but he continues his sniffing.

*creak creak* A sound of a door opened inside the room.

The young man quickly halts at his doing and look at someone at the door.

A girl was standing there holding a tray with both hands.

White skin, not muscular nor skinny, pink lip, black eyes, and her dazzling black long hair.

You can smell the aroma of the food coming from the tray she was carrying. 

She saw the young man was already wake up and happily greeted him.

"Ah, good morning or should I say, good afternoon. You do take your time sleeping comfortably even at that kind of place. If someone other than me that had found you, you would be in trouble."

The young man finally collected his thoughts as he realized something.

"It was only you, huh." The young man finally spoke, his voice was deep yet gentle.

The young man was relieved that this girl was the one who found him unconscious other than some random stranger.

"Don't 'It was only you, huh.' me! Don't you feel thankful for what I had done to you!?" The girl snapped at what this man has said to her. The young man was at fault for being rude but the girl was overreacting that she was about to throw the tray to him.

She must be very worried about him.

The young man felt guilty and apologize to the girl.

"Sorry."

"*sighed* As long as you understand seriously what a troublesome kid you are." The girl sighed as she went sat at the chair beside the balcony and put the tray at the table.

The girl looks outside and stayed silent for a while.

The gentle wind crosses through the room as it flew the girl's hair making her captivating.

The young man saw the scene and fell in love with it.

He already had fallen in love with this girl yet he can't find the right words, nor the right time to confess to her.

The silence continues, no one talks nor no one even dare to talk to each other.

It continues for a couple of minutes until the girl finally speaks breaking the awkward silence in the room.

"So, uhmmm... What will you after this?" The girl asks a question.

"Let's see... Since I don't have money to go to any hospital, I'll go to the school clinic to heal my injuries from the fight last night."

"It's not last night you know."

"Excuse me?" The man showed a confused face. What did she mean it's not yesterday?

"You slept for almost two days."

"Sorry, what now?"

"Are you deaf? I said you slept for almost two days now."

As she has finished her sentence a loud sound of something growling can be heard throughout the room.

The young man covers his belly like he was trying to stop the loud growl coming out from it.

*giggle* The girl softly giggles as she finds it funny to see this man embarrassed from his hunger.

"Here." She stands up in her chair, walks toward the man, and gave him 3 pieces of bread.

The young man graciously accepted the pieces of bread and eat one of the bread slowly chewing it in his mouth.

"Thanks." He was thankful to this girl for her to be beside him even now.

"If you can walk you can leave, I have a business to attend to so I'll be leaving now, bye. Oh yeah, your other clothes are in the bag over there. " She points at the bag on the cabinet and left.

After the girl leaves he immediately left the house. For him, it was rude to stay longer than necessary.

Thankfully the parents of the girl are not here so it takes him only a couple of minutes for him to get prepare to leave.

If her parents were here it would cause a huge misunderstanding.

He leaves at the front door and went straight to his school.

Good thing the young man was familiar in this place as he casually walks like he knew where is the route straight to school.
