After Zephaniah said, he supported Jade’s waist with his hand to help her get into the car.

Gemarya happily closed the door behind them.

Jade realized that it was not the way home only after ten minutes.

“Where are you bringing me to? I want to go home,” she said unhappily

When Zephaniah saw her dark face, he was afraid that she would get angry again, and he comforted her in a low voice. “You’re now in a bad mood. Even if we go home, you will only lock yourself in your room. It’s better for you to go out to relax and meet some friends.”

Jade knew how bad she looked like now, but she was not in the mood to meet friends. She just wanted to go home, sleep, and forget everything about him.

Near noon time, the car parked in front of the entrance of a restaurant. Jade raised her head and found the place a little familiar. She thought about it for a few seconds and remembered that it was the congee restaurant that he had brought her to last time.

Gemma waved at her through a French window. Her smile was bright, and her complexion looked extraordinarily good.

The man sitting beside her was Mister Briggs. He looked masculine and was an eye-catching person in the crowd.

Mister Briggs smiled and cast a glance at Jade before he asked Gemma, “Is she Mister Owens’s ex-wife?”

“That’s right. How does she look? My best friend looks excellent, right?” Gemma touched his arm, and her confidence came out of nowhere.

Mister Briggs smiled slightly and nodded obediently. “Yes, she is a good match for Mister Owens.”

When Gemma heard it, she was actually not very happy. Other than looking good and being rich, Zephaniah did not have any other good qualities. His heart of stone that could not be melted had made Jade suffer for a long time.

Jade smiled strangely while looking at Gemma. “You’re finally willing to bring him out to meet me?”

Gemma got up, hugged Jade from the side, and smiled. “If I still didn’t bring him out, I’m afraid that you’d punch me.” She then sized her up, and frowned. “Why are you looking worse during your pregnancy? Your face is so pale.”

Gemma turned around and glared at Zephaniah. Her expression was not good. “Are you not willing to buy her meals or drinks, Mister Owens? If you can’t take good care of her, I’ll bring her to my place, and the kids can recognize me as their father.”

Zephaniah did not show any expression and just took in all her criticism. “It’s my fault. You can punish me, Miss Gemma.”

Jade cast a glance at him, pursed her lips, and pulled Gemma slightly.

“Do you still want me to eat well? Mister Briggs is still here!”

Mister Briggs smiled as he nodded. “Gemma, the two of you finally met up again. Quickly let Miss Redfern sit down and order the food.”

Gemma moved her lips and held back her words as she led Jade to sit down.

Zephaniah put the menu in front of Jade before he got her a cup of hot water.

Mister Briggs looked at his moves. He took a sip of water before he smiled and said, “Mister Owens said you like the congee in this restaurant, so we purposely decided to meet here. Tell us which one is delicious so we can try it out.”

Jade raised her head with an amiable expression. “The congee here is really tasty, but Gemma does not like it, so we should order more dishes.”

Mister Briggs was stunned a little but quickly nodded.

Jade glanced at Gemma who sat opposite her meaningfully.

She was sure that people who had meals with each other a few times would quickly notice one another’s habits. Yet Gemma was having a baby and the man next to her was not aware of the fact that she did not like congee.

Gemma glared at her, then lowered her head and ordered food.

Zephaniah suddenly took the menu from Jade’s hands, and she looked at him in shock.

“Every dish is spicy. Even normal people can’t stand it.” As he said that, he crossed out the food on the order and added some with light flavors.

Gemma chuckled and blinked. “It turns out to be me who made the mistake. You are the one making yourself look bad like this. You don’t even know what a pregnant woman should eat.”

Jade was speechless.

After the dishes were served, they ate while talking. The two women talked most of the time, from clothing to cosmetics, and from work to travel.

“Oh yes. Since you’re pregnant, won’t you hold a wedding as soon as possible?” Jade suddenly asked.

Gemma’s expression looked slightly unnatural. She purposely stuffed her mouth with food and left the question to the man beside her.

Mister Briggs was silent. He thought for a while before he said, “If Gemma wants the wedding that would satisfy her, it would take at least two months to prepare. I’ve been discussing this with the wedding company the last couple days.”

Jade cast a glance at Gemma. She was still stuffing food into her mouth carelessly. Jade could not help but kick her under the table, but Gemma did not show any response.

Jade nodded. “Yes. If you have any plans in this regard, you need to be quick. Gemma and you are not young, so the two of you should have a family.”

Gemma finally raised her head and showed her disagreement. “Who says you must get married if you’re older? I’m so beautiful, what are you worried about?”

Zephaniah did not say anything at all. Jade looked down and took a napkin to go to the restroom. When she lowered her head and saw a footprint on his black formal trousers, she was stunned.

Jade recollected herself and glared at him. A woman wanted to go to the restroom, so why did he want to follow her!

A while later, Gemma put down the cutlery and went after Jade. The two men understood that they wanted to whisper to each other, so they looked at each other and smiled.
