Chapter 247 Noodles Cannot Make Me Satisfied

Zephaniah did not remove his hand from Jade’s waist. When the waiter led them to a private room, he lowered his head and whispered into her ear, “Greyson recommended this place to me last time. I thought the food tastes quite good, and I always wanted to bring you here.”

Jade felt an itch by her ear. She felt warmth in her heart, so she raised her head and looked at his side profile. No matter what his purpose was, at least he put in some effort.

A bowl of porridge was served. It was freshly cooked, and bubbles could still be seen. The sticky rice was boiling, and when Jade smelled the aroma, her eyes lit up.

Zephaniah pulled the plate under the porridge towards his side, and Jade’s eyes moved along with it. She looked like a kid who was afraid of not being able to eat good food. When she saw that it was getting further away from her, she registered what was going on, and she opened her mouth as she looked at him in shock.

“It’s too hot. I’ll put it into a bowl first.” Zephaniah held in his laughter as he explained and casually took a small bowl from the side.

Jade was stunned for a while before she sat up straighter. She put on airs and said coldly, “Yes, it looks quite hot.”

But when she said this, she instantly wanted to bite her tongue off. How could she be so embarrassing…

Zephaniah chuckled softly.

He filled the bowl with some porridge and lightly stirred it with a spoon to reduce the temperature. His expression still looked a little lazy.

Jade glanced at him with a complex gaze. Was it wishful thinking if she imagined that he would continue treating her like this?

She laughed as if she was mocking herself, and she could not help but stroke her belly with love. There were still four more months for the babies before they came to the world. How could she control what would happen in the future?

When the porridge cooled to the point that it was suitable for eating, Zephaniah pushed the bowl in front of Jade. She could not wait and took a big mouthful of it. Her eyes crinkled, which expressed her happiness.

Zephaniah smiled helplessly. Luckily, he cooled it down for some time, or she would have scalded herself.

Within ten minutes, the porridge was finished. When Jade raised her head again, Zephaniah was looking at her as well.

She could not help but blush. Her appetite was really big…

But her body was shared by three people.

She cleared her throat and schooled her expression. She glanced at the empty pot, quirked her eyebrows, and said, “Do you think it’s easy to bring two babies about? They also need to eat.”

“Yes, I know.” He smiled faintly as he nodded. “Are you full yet? I’ve ordered a bowl of noodles, so you may eat some as well.”

He was being very good-natured, to the point that no one could bear to be cold to him. Jade blinked. “Of course I want to eat some.” She laughed after a few seconds. “Greyson is really good at finding good food…”

She did not expect that he would hear her. He looked up and teased her, “You didn’t thank the person who brought you here, but you remember the irrelevant person so clearly.”

Jade got angry. She moved her lips a little to suppress her anger.

When the noodles were served, he pushed them in front of her and smiled. “If you like them, I’ll ask them to send food to your house tomorrow. It’s not convenient for you to come all the way here.”

Jade wanted to reject immediately, but when she saw Gemarya walking towards them with a phone in his hand, she blinked and forgot what she wanted to say.

“It’s from Mister Greyson Cobb.”

He just never stopped.

There was impatience in Zephaniah’s eyes as he put the phone to his ear.

Greyson propped his legs on the study table. “You found her? Did you settle everything?”

Zephaniah’s tone was cold, and he looked a little fierce. “Does it have anything to do with you?”

Greyson bent his legs and immediately sat up straight. “What the heck?! You’re so rude to me after I helped you?! Aren’t you afraid that I'll get revenge on you?!” He blinked before he put on a cheeky look again. “Why? I can tell you’re happy now…”

Zephaniah quirked his eyebrows, and his tone was calm. “I’ll hang up now.”

“Alright! Enjoy yourself tonight. I won’t disturb you!” But before he hung up, he asked, “How will you handle Martin? This guy is not an easy man to deal with.”

Zephaniah looked down, hid his emotions, and said expressionlessly, “I won’t do anything to him. I’ll hang up now. I still have something to do. I’ll buy you a meal next time.”

Beep!

Before Greyson could react, he heard this sound of the call’s end. He could not help but click his tongue in the direction of his phone, but he grinned in a thought-provoking manner.

Jade had thought that it would be something urgent, so when Zephaniah hung up in a short while, she could not help but ask, “Was it anything important?”

Zephaniah’s expression remained unchanged. “No, it’s about work.”

When she saw that he did not intend to say anything, she looked at the noodles, and suddenly, she lost her appetite.

“Why have you stopped eating?”

Jade touched her belly. “I’m full. I can’t eat too much at night.”

Zephaniah nodded and got up. “We’ll go home, then.”

“Are you not eating?” Jade was shocked.

He smiled a little. “I’m not hungry.”

Suddenly, she grabbed the hand he used to hold the jacket, so he turned around and looked at her in puzzlement.

Jade blinked before she lowered her head stiffly.

She had noticed that his complexion was bad when she was in the car. There were bruises under his eyes, and he looked skinnier. Although he was still imposing, it was difficult to hide his fatigue.

“You should eat some.” Her voice was soft, and it sounded as if her heart was aching for him.

Zephaniah stared at her deeply. Suddenly, he smiled and leaned down towards her. “Are you feeling sorry for me?”

Jade was shocked. She suddenly registered that she was just asking for it. He did not need anyone to feel sorry for him.

“Don’t eat if you don’t want to!” She gritted her teeth, pushed him, and tried to get up.

He grabbed her hand. His palms were always dry and warm, and it made her feel secure.

“I’ll eat, but…” When Jade heard his hoarse voice, warning bells rang in her heart. She knew it…

“Noodles alone can’t satisfy me. I’ll need to eat again when we’re back.” He snickered silently.

Jade’s face turned red with rage, but because other people were still around, she gritted her teeth and said angrily, “Did you forget that I’m pregnant?”

But his smile only became brighter, and his breath brushed her face. “I remember, but I’ve also checked. If the pregnant lady is healthy during this month of her pregnancy, she can still sleep with her husband. Even if it’s for safety… you can still help me.”

This pervert!

It was useless to argue about it now. She held her anger, pointed at the noodles on the table, and said in annoyance, “Finish eating the noodles first!”

Zephaniah had succeeded, and he felt energized and quickly finished the noodles. When Jade was brought out of the restaurant, she suspected that she had been set up.

When they arrived at the housing area, Zephaniah opened the door for her, but Jade did not want to leave the car.

“I need to go back to my parents’ place. They should be worried.” She found herself a good excuse.

Zephaniah touched the roof of the car and looked at her calmly. “I’ve called your parents, and what they said is completely opposite of what you think. They said if we come back late, you can stay at my place. They even added that you’re too wilful and asked me to keep a closer eye on you.”

It sounded exactly like what her mother would say, so Jade instantly gave up.

She had not been paying attention at that moment, and she only realized that something was happening when she was lifted. Zephaniah did not waste his breath anymore and just carried her away.

He put her down only when they were on their floor. She pushed him away and walked into the bedroom while he said calmly, “Go take a bath. Later, I’ll take your clothes for you.”
