Chapter 262 Pick On Her

Author: Tea Splasher
Her voice was so sharp that she no longer looked like a lady.

Zephaniah’s mother felt unhappy, and she glared at Blanche.

Jade smiled and calmly said, “I’m glad that Mrs. Owens comes, but why are you following her? Your face… is really not suitable for an outing. If you terrify some kid, you will need to bear the responsibility.”

Blanche was triggered immediately. She pointed at Jade and furrowed her eyebrows.

Zephaniah’s mother turned her cold gaze at Jade and scolded her. “Jade, why do you talk like this? I didn’t realize you’re so good at talking previously. Why? Did you change after getting divorced with Zeph? Or did you become fearless because of your pregnancy?”

Zephaniah looked at her coldly. “Mom, she did not mean that. Don’t misinterpret her purposely.”

Jade smiled sarcastically. It seemed that his mother had come to pick on her on purpose. If it was the case, she did not need to tolerate her.

“You also didn’t defend outsiders like this previously. Did you decide that I’m no longer a part of Owens family since we divorced, so you don’t have to be polite with me anymore?”

Zephaniah’s mother’s face instantly turned dark.

Zephaniah called Jade in a low voice in hopes to stop her.

She could not help but frown. She was surrounded by the three of them, and she felt so depressed that she was out of breath.

She took a few steps backward, not wanting to see any of them again.

“I’m going for a pregnancy check-up. If you don’t have anything else, I’ll leave first,” she said coldly.

Blanche gritted her teeth in hatred. Didn’t she only have the babies going for her? Yet she was so arrogant!

Blanched told her herself to just wait for it. Once the babies came out, Jade would only have the status of a normal woman!

“Don’t rush. I have something to talk to you,” Zephaniah’s mother said. She turned around and said to Zephaniah, “You go ahead with your work. I’ll send her to the hospital after I finish talking to her.”

Zephaniah did not move at all. “This is what I should do. Just say whatever you want to say. After that, we’ll leave,” he said firmly.

His mother frowned. “Why? You believe me anymore? Can I hurt her?”

Jade felt annoyed and just wanted to end the situation. She raised her head and said to Zephaniah, “You leave first. We’ll just talk. I’m not that fragile.”

Blanche secretly sneered.

Zephaniah remained silent. He walked to her while looking at her with gentleness. “I’ll wait for you in the car. Once you’re done talking, I’ll send you to the hospital.”

Jade did not answer him. She turned around and looked in the other direction.

When the three of them left, Jade furrowed her eyebrows. “Please say whatever you want.”

Zephaniah’s mother blinked, and something flashed in her eyes. She furrowed her eyebrows as well. Her experience gave her the ability to easily judge people when she met them.

When her son and Jade married, she had really underestimated Jade. In the three years, her son was neither hot nor cold to her. Although she did not help him in his career, she did not make any mistakes either.

But now, after they divorced, she drove him out of his mind. She even kept the most important thing in her hands, which was the babies.

Even Zephaniah’s mother was forced to admit her existence, so she could not deny that Jade was really smart.

But it was useless. After all, the babies could not stay inside her body. One day, she would need to deliver them.

Jade hated people like that the most. There was neither kindness nor concern, but only coldness that made her feel uncomfortable within Zephaniah’s mother.

“Are the babies alright?”

The reason that could make her come in person was naturally the babies.

Jade could not help but mock her inside her mind. She did not let it show though and just thought of how to end the conversation quickly.

“They are fine. No problem.”

“Where do you go for prenatal education?”

“I’m not attending any prenatal class.”

Zephaniah’s mother frowned, and her volume increased. “Not attending prenatal class? Could you care more about your kids?”

Jade felt her anger getting stuck at her throat, and she could not say anything, so she stayed quiet.

When Zephaniah’s mother saw Jade looking aloof and not responding, she became angry. Her self-control ability was very good, so she stayed silent for a moment before saying, “I’ll find one for you tomorrow. You go and sign up for the class as soon as possible.”

Jade could not help sneering.

Blanche could not afford to see Jade being like this, so she said in scorn, “Mrs. Owens is not joking, what are you laughing at?”

Jade cast a glance at her coldly before she said calmly, “I won’t go.”

She was a human and not a thing. Why should she do whatever they wanted?

Zephaniah’s mother was rarely disobeyed like this, and her exquisite makeup could not cover her anger.

“Jade, I’m doing this for the sake of you and the babies. Why are you behaving like this?”

Jade felt that the conversation would never end if they continued arguing. She impatiently tugged at her hair before she glanced at the watch.

“I don’t want to do anything. I haven't had time to attend prenatal class recently. And it’s almost the appointment time with the doctor. We’ll talk next time if there’s anything.”

Jade turned around and wanted to leave, but she was stopped by Blanche.

“You don’t even put what Mrs. Owens said in your heart?!” Her eyes were fierce, and she looked provocative.

Jade looked neither hot nor cold. “Do you want to get slapped again?”

Without waiting for her response, she walked past her and left.

Zephaniah paid close attention to the group. The moment he saw Jade rush to the entrance of the housing area, he started the car engine and went after her.

Because of feeling wronged and angry, Jade could not tolerate anything now. She ignored Zephaniah when he honked next to her. After leaving the housing area, she called a taxi.

Zephaniah alighted from the car and pulled her to bring her into his car.

“Don’t touch me!” Jade shouted out. Her face was red from agitation. “I now regret keeping the babies and regret giving you a chance to get close to me. Zephaniah Owens, don’t wear away my last feelings for you…”

Zephaniah’s face turned pale. The woman standing in front of him looked hopeless.

She still had feelings for him, but why was she not willing to believe him?

“Jade, you never believe that I’m sincere with you.”

Zephaniah’s tone was flat, but his voice plunged into Jade’s heart. It was pulled by what felt like a silver thread, and it was so painful that she could not breathe.

Nothing could be guessed from her eyes and voice. “Whenever I tried to believe you, I fell into an abyss. I’m scared.”

Jade gasped and went to the roadside to wait for a taxi.

Zephaniah followed her from a distance. He was still worried about letting her go alone.

Jade did not have the strength to stop him from coming after her. She just let him follow as if she did not see him.

He even dealt with the registration before they went in to see the doctor, which made it obvious he was not familiar with it. He clearly did not need to handle this kind of thing normally.

When the doctor looked at the medical record, he glanced at the two of them before he said coldly, “You’re late by a week. You should pay more attention when you know you’re having twins. You should take note of the position of the fetus and make sure the indicators are normal.”

Jade blinked and felt a little embarrassed after being told off like that.

The doctor then prescribed two supplements for pregnant ladies before he passed the note to Zephaniah. “Father, please go and get these. I’ll talk to the mother about other precautions.”

Jade was stunned, and something complicated flashed in her eyes.

Zephaniah was also stunned. This was the first time he was considered a father by someone else, and his hand that held the prescription trembled slightly.

After the two of them came out from the hospital, they still did not talk.

Jade did not know when Zephaniah had asked Gemarya to come over, but he had driven over in a new car. It seemed quite pricey.

When Zephaniah saw that Jade did not want to move, he could only say softly, “Mom said I must send you home to not worry her.”

Gemarya came over. He graciously opened the door of the car, smiled, and said, “Mister Owens purposely asked me to drive a more comfortable car over. It’s new, and he looked for it for a long time. There is a seat exclusively for a pregnant lady.”

Jade could not help but sneer. “Mister Owens has good judgement in this regard. The staff you hired is very loyal, and they assist you very well.”

When Zephaniah saw that she was willing to say something strange like that, he moved his lips slightly.

Loveless Marriage: My Dear Ex, Please Conduct Yourself with Dignity    Chapter 350 Will We Have Nothing Else To Do Now

Within half a month, the news of the engagement of the first daughter of Howells family in South City and the only son of Weaver family, the jewellery big shot in Imperial City had spread. Two of them were even interviewed together by the news media, and there were also some gossips reporting that the two of them held hands and went to the maternity stores together. The engagement banquet was scheduled tomorrow. Today, the Weaver family in Imperial City held a cocktail party in advance. An invitation card was delivered to Zephaniah’s office. He was initially not interested in attending the party, but when his fingers rubbed over the cover of the invitation card, he instantly felt interested. The invitation card of Weaver family purposely used the business label of Peak Corporation, as if they were trying to hint something.Jade just finished eating her breakfast. She pushed the chair away and wanted to walk to the bedroom. She saw the caregiver coming out with a newspaper and point

When they went back to South City, it was already evening. The rain had stopped, and the air was filled with slight moisture. The night sky came. Jade was covered with Zephaniah’s coat as she got down the car. On the way back, both of them remained silent, and none of them talked. The caregiver looked around for a long time at the door. After she heard the car engine, she opened the door of the courtyard anxiously. She saw the two of them walking in one after another, and their expressions did not look good.“Sir, Madam, your parents came in the afternoon. They have been waiting for you.” The caregiver closed the door of the courtyard, and she walked past the corridor at the back of them. Before they went into the house, they heard Jade’s mother’s cheerful laughter as she babbled along with the babies. After they went to the living room, they saw Jade’s mother holding Lincoln on the sofa. She raised her hand high, and her eyes were filled with love. Jade’s father sat on the wheel

She saw his ankle being wrapped in white gauze on the hospital bed, and she instantly felt better. She moved her sight away from Zephaniah, smiled faintly, and looked into Heidi’s eyes. “Miss Howells, are you still okay?” The smile in her eyes was unfathomably deep. Heidi’s smile froze on her lips, but she still calmly dealt with her. “Not a big deal. I just sprained my ankle when I got down the stairs. I didn’t expect Miss Redfern to visit on purpose. Sorry for bothering you.” Jade pursed her lips and glanced at Zephaniah who had already gotten up and was by her side. She grabbed his arms and chuckled. “You’ve overthought, Miss Howells. I came to look for Zeph, so I also took this chance to visit you.” As she spoke, she glanced around and saw an unfamiliar man sitting on the other side of the hospital bed.The man showed the ghost of a smile on the corner of his lips. He quirked his eyebrows, while his body leaned against the back of the chair. He gave off a relaxed elegance, a

After she got into the car, she called Zephaniah before she started the engine, but nobody answered. While she drove to Seagan City, she roughly understood what Martin said, so she subconsciously stepped on the accelerator. Before she went to the hospital, she bought a fruit basket and some flowers from the shop nearby. She then went to ask about in the nurse station, and she figured out the ward where Zephaniah’s mother was.“She has not been in a very good mood recently. When you go inside, you must speak softly.” The young nurse pointed at the ward before she reminded Jade kindly. The air was humid. On the way from South City, it rained heavily. Jade could not help but get herself a little wet. Her fringe on her forehead curled up damply, and it stuck to her head. She tied her hair to a low ponytail. With her indifferent expression, she gave off an extremely cold aura. Her footsteps resounded in the corridor, and she arrived at the door of the ward. She stood there for a while.

The caregiver sighed. “Today, when I went to the supermarket to buy some groceries, I remembered you wanting to bring two more nursing bottles to the school, so I went to the second floor and took a look. Later when I was on the second floor, I noticed a woman following me. I then recalled what you’ve told me. So, I didn’t buy anything at all, and I went back to the first floor again.” As Jade heard it, she was slightly flustered, and her expression darkened quickly. She blurted out, “What happened after that?” “That woman stopped me. She said her baby at home needed to drink milk, but she didn’t know what she should buy, so she asked me to check it out for her. As she spoke, she even stuffed five hundred to my hands. I was dragged around by her. She said she wanted to buy milk powder, but I think she was trying to trick me into telling her something.” As the caregiver said it, she rubbed her hands before she passed the five hundred dollar bill. “This is the money she gave me.”

Who are you, little b*tch? Can’t you see that we’re having our meal?” She thought that Jade was a woman whom Zephaniah had met in an unknown nightclub, so her expression became extremely unpleasant, and what she said was even more awful to hear.Zephaniah looked down as he listened to her. He could not afford to hear any more, so he moved to get up. However, a stable force weighed down on his shoulder, and he could not get up as intended. He raised his head and saw Jade pressing his shoulder while staring at Crystal across from him. She slowly curled the corner of her lips as if she was not triggered by Crystal at all. “If I’m not wrong, this lady has come here for a blind date with Mister Cobb, right?” She smiled.Jade gradually moved her arm away, but her smile grew brighter. “Our Mister Cobb needs to attend blind dates with at least ten women in a month, but nobody has been able to spend even ten days with him. I've been by his side for almost four years. So by comparison, who’s

Roman’s plane landed in the evening. After that, he drove all the way over. When he got out of the car, he tidied up his shirt slightly before he looked up and stared at the big door of the courtyard.Soon, the door was opened from inside, and Zephaniah’s straight figure was revealed. He was standi

About ten minutes later, the news spread through South City. Half an hour later, in Roman Saul’s office, a photo sent by his assistant was put on the table. He narrowed his deep eyes slightly, and nobody knew what he was thinking about.“What has Emmie been doing lately?” he suddenly asked his assi

“Get up. There are still many guests outside. Why did you come inside?” Jade blushed.Zephaniah chuckled darkly. He used more strength in his hand before he let go and stood up.“Let’s go out together. It’s not reasonable for the mistress of the house to not be there.”Before Jade could answer, h
