Chapter 250 Let Me Bring You To A Place

Author: Tea Splasher
Ethan sighed in relief, but he obviously saw Zephaniah smirking coldly. It didn’t even last a second, and he said coolly, “It’s too early to talk about that. There’ll definitely be some changes after she gives birth. Work well, and I believe Mister Whittle will not treat you badly.”

Jade glanced at him. He finally said something good, so she smiled and said, “I will wait for you to be promoted and get an increment. If I have a chance to go back, I’ll probably need you to take care of me.”

Martin was embarrassed and scratched his scalp.

When Ethan saw that the issue was finally resolved, he raised a glass to Zephaniah. “Mister Owens, thank you very much for choosing our small startup company. On behalf of the young men in my company, let me thank you with tea.”

Zephaniah nodded in response. He raised his tea cup and drank it all in one go.

Jade flipped through the menu, and her mood became better. “Since we have a happy occasion, let’s order some wine. The atmosphere can’t be ruined because of me.”

Zephaniah grabbed her hand as she was flipping through the menu happily and said seriously, “Stop fooling around. How could you drink wine?”

Martin also furrowed his brow.

She looked up. “I will only watch as the three of you drink.”

When Ethan saw Zephaniah's dark expression, he immediately acted as the mediator. “Jade, don’t order. In our field of work, we spend our life with alcohol every day. It’s rare for us to be able to eat a refreshing meal. Besides, the baby can sense the outside world. As the mother, you should give it a good environment.”

Jade glanced at him. He was different when he talked in front of his sponsor.

When they left Glory Hut, Martin and Ethan went back by themselves, while Jade got into the passenger seat under Zephaniah’s protection.

He did not immediately start the car, but turned to the side and asked about her plans in the afternoon.

Jade looked around. She put her arm on the window to support her chin and said lazily, “Send me home. I want to accompany my parents in the afternoon.”

A while later, when she saw that he did not move at all, she blinked, turned around, and looked him in the eyes.

“Are you still worried about Martin? I will make arrangements.” He grabbed the steering wheel with one hand while he tugged at the messy ends of her hair with the other hand. He stroked them downward and only let go after they became smooth.

Jade was stunned by the question. She carefully looked at him, but did not notice anything strange from his face.

“He still has no place to stay, so he needs to get a house near the company.”

Zephaniah’s expression was calm. “Okay, what else?”

Jade was completely confused. She did not know what he was thinking, so she thought for a while before she asked him, “What’s wrong with you?”

“Since there’s nothing else...” His eyes became darker. “If you want to see him again, I’ll go with you; otherwise, I’ll be worried.”

His tone did not change, but he sounded more serious than he used to.

Jade carefully recalled her acquaintance with Martin. But from her perspective, he was a young man who had just graduated. He had a job he liked, had the passion and intelligence young men had, and a positive mindset.

But she also knew that Zephaniah was not someone who would do things on impulse.

Since she was not working, there would be much fewer chances for her to meet up with Martin. If Zephaniah was really worried, then they did not need to meet up.

“Okay.”

Zephaniah looked relieved. Slight happiness filled his eyes. He held her hand and kissed it. “We’ll go home at night. Now, I want to bring you to a place.”

Jade did not expect that there would come a day when she would walk into a photo studio with Zephaniah.

It was built in a vintage style, and its main door was made of wood. The ceiling inside was covered in bonesets while facing the door was a long corridor. Carvings of delicate and exquisite flowers filled Jade’s sight. The corridor extended to a lush backyard.

Jade’s eyes turned bright. The building looked pretty normal from the outside, so she did not expect that the inside of the studio would be so different.

“I should’ve brought my camera.” Her eyes crinkled.

Zephaniah stood beside her, and his lips twitched. “This is a photo studio. They’re not in a shortage of cameras.”

A girl in an ancient costume walked over through the corridor. Her makeup was exquisite, while her smile was bright.

She came barely half a minute after they entered. She nodded at Jade, but she was stunned when she raised her head and looked at Zephaniah. She blushed slightly, but she lowered her head and talked to Jade very soon.

“Have you made your appointment?” Her voice was clear, and her moves were as elegant and gentle as those of a lady from ancient times.

Jade raised her head and looked at Zephaniah.

“No.”

The girl hesitated. “If you did not…”

Jade understood. A high-end photo studio like this would naturally not allow just anyone to come, take some photos casually, and leave.

She touched his arm with her hand and whispered, “Should we come again next time?”

Zephaniah did not furrow his brow at all. Instead, he took hold of her hand.

“Is Maple Howells around?” he coldly asked the girl.

She was shocked when she heard him calling her boss’ name, and she quickly scrutinized the two of them again. They had striking presences, and their appearances were outstanding. It was clear that they were not normal people.

She calmed down and smiled. “You’re our boss’ friend, I see. Please follow me.”

The girl led the way. Jade moved her fingers, while Zephaniah quirked his eyebrows, lowered his head, and looked at her.

She looked up and smiled. “You have many friends.”

Before their divorce, she thought that he was a normal man who had an extraordinary appearance and presence. Even right after their divorce she did not know the size of his business or his network. Yet here she was, a normal person that people could not differentiate from the crowd having lived with him for such a long time.

Zephaniah saw all the expressions that she attempted to hide. He held her hand tightly and leaned over with a smile. “Not many. I will introduce them to you later.”

When her thoughts were revealed, Jade felt embarrassed. “I didn’t say I want to know them. All your friends are from the upper class. I’m just an employee in a small company. I can’t be friends with such rich people.”

He ignored her awkwardness and said calmly, “Did you forget? You’re not a staff member in a company anymore.”

Right after he said this, Jade felt her foot knocking into something, causing her to freeze for a moment. Her body started tilting forward against her control. She lost balance, and she saw herself getting closer to the ground.

She screamed in shock and subconsciously reached out to protect her belly from touching the ground.

But the feeling of falling soon disappeared, and she never hit the ground. When she opened her eyes, Zephaniah’s face was right in front of her. His eyes were so cold that they terrified her.

“You didn’t look at the floor when you walked? There are still four more months before you give birth to the babies. How are you going to protect them?” He looked like he was really angry.

Jade was silent. It was not as if she did not know how much he cared about the babies.

Dejectedness flashed through her eyes before she suddenly smiled. “You’re here with me, right?”

Zephaniah opened his mouth. His anger was chased away by her words, and he furrowed his brow in resignation.

She tried to move out of his arms, but she was trapped in his embrace.

“I don’t feel comfortable like this. Let me…” Before Jade could finish, she was interrupted by giggles.

When she raised her head, she saw a familiar figure in the corridor. It was the girl that she could not forget ever since she saw her.

Maple held a camera while giggling. When she saw that both of them had noticed her, she showed her face from behind it. She put the camera on her shoulder and walked towards them.

Zephaniah looked at her impatiently.

“Later, I will show you what I got just now. I assure you, it’s something for which you’ll have to buy me a meal. I have to say, there was love seeping out through your pores.”

Her exaggerated expression made her look full of life.

Loveless Marriage: My Dear Ex, Please Conduct Yourself with Dignity    Chapter 350 Will We Have Nothing Else To Do Now

Within half a month, the news of the engagement of the first daughter of Howells family in South City and the only son of Weaver family, the jewellery big shot in Imperial City had spread. Two of them were even interviewed together by the news media, and there were also some gossips reporting that the two of them held hands and went to the maternity stores together. The engagement banquet was scheduled tomorrow. Today, the Weaver family in Imperial City held a cocktail party in advance. An invitation card was delivered to Zephaniah’s office. He was initially not interested in attending the party, but when his fingers rubbed over the cover of the invitation card, he instantly felt interested. The invitation card of Weaver family purposely used the business label of Peak Corporation, as if they were trying to hint something.Jade just finished eating her breakfast. She pushed the chair away and wanted to walk to the bedroom. She saw the caregiver coming out with a newspaper and point

When they went back to South City, it was already evening. The rain had stopped, and the air was filled with slight moisture. The night sky came. Jade was covered with Zephaniah’s coat as she got down the car. On the way back, both of them remained silent, and none of them talked. The caregiver looked around for a long time at the door. After she heard the car engine, she opened the door of the courtyard anxiously. She saw the two of them walking in one after another, and their expressions did not look good.“Sir, Madam, your parents came in the afternoon. They have been waiting for you.” The caregiver closed the door of the courtyard, and she walked past the corridor at the back of them. Before they went into the house, they heard Jade’s mother’s cheerful laughter as she babbled along with the babies. After they went to the living room, they saw Jade’s mother holding Lincoln on the sofa. She raised her hand high, and her eyes were filled with love. Jade’s father sat on the wheel

She saw his ankle being wrapped in white gauze on the hospital bed, and she instantly felt better. She moved her sight away from Zephaniah, smiled faintly, and looked into Heidi’s eyes. “Miss Howells, are you still okay?” The smile in her eyes was unfathomably deep. Heidi’s smile froze on her lips, but she still calmly dealt with her. “Not a big deal. I just sprained my ankle when I got down the stairs. I didn’t expect Miss Redfern to visit on purpose. Sorry for bothering you.” Jade pursed her lips and glanced at Zephaniah who had already gotten up and was by her side. She grabbed his arms and chuckled. “You’ve overthought, Miss Howells. I came to look for Zeph, so I also took this chance to visit you.” As she spoke, she glanced around and saw an unfamiliar man sitting on the other side of the hospital bed.The man showed the ghost of a smile on the corner of his lips. He quirked his eyebrows, while his body leaned against the back of the chair. He gave off a relaxed elegance, a

After she got into the car, she called Zephaniah before she started the engine, but nobody answered. While she drove to Seagan City, she roughly understood what Martin said, so she subconsciously stepped on the accelerator. Before she went to the hospital, she bought a fruit basket and some flowers from the shop nearby. She then went to ask about in the nurse station, and she figured out the ward where Zephaniah’s mother was.“She has not been in a very good mood recently. When you go inside, you must speak softly.” The young nurse pointed at the ward before she reminded Jade kindly. The air was humid. On the way from South City, it rained heavily. Jade could not help but get herself a little wet. Her fringe on her forehead curled up damply, and it stuck to her head. She tied her hair to a low ponytail. With her indifferent expression, she gave off an extremely cold aura. Her footsteps resounded in the corridor, and she arrived at the door of the ward. She stood there for a while.

The caregiver sighed. “Today, when I went to the supermarket to buy some groceries, I remembered you wanting to bring two more nursing bottles to the school, so I went to the second floor and took a look. Later when I was on the second floor, I noticed a woman following me. I then recalled what you’ve told me. So, I didn’t buy anything at all, and I went back to the first floor again.” As Jade heard it, she was slightly flustered, and her expression darkened quickly. She blurted out, “What happened after that?” “That woman stopped me. She said her baby at home needed to drink milk, but she didn’t know what she should buy, so she asked me to check it out for her. As she spoke, she even stuffed five hundred to my hands. I was dragged around by her. She said she wanted to buy milk powder, but I think she was trying to trick me into telling her something.” As the caregiver said it, she rubbed her hands before she passed the five hundred dollar bill. “This is the money she gave me.”

Who are you, little b*tch? Can’t you see that we’re having our meal?” She thought that Jade was a woman whom Zephaniah had met in an unknown nightclub, so her expression became extremely unpleasant, and what she said was even more awful to hear.Zephaniah looked down as he listened to her. He could not afford to hear any more, so he moved to get up. However, a stable force weighed down on his shoulder, and he could not get up as intended. He raised his head and saw Jade pressing his shoulder while staring at Crystal across from him. She slowly curled the corner of her lips as if she was not triggered by Crystal at all. “If I’m not wrong, this lady has come here for a blind date with Mister Cobb, right?” She smiled.Jade gradually moved her arm away, but her smile grew brighter. “Our Mister Cobb needs to attend blind dates with at least ten women in a month, but nobody has been able to spend even ten days with him. I've been by his side for almost four years. So by comparison, who’s

About ten minutes later, the news spread through South City. Half an hour later, in Roman Saul’s office, a photo sent by his assistant was put on the table. He narrowed his deep eyes slightly, and nobody knew what he was thinking about.“What has Emmie been doing lately?” he suddenly asked his assi

“Get up. There are still many guests outside. Why did you come inside?” Jade blushed.Zephaniah chuckled darkly. He used more strength in his hand before he let go and stood up.“Let’s go out together. It’s not reasonable for the mistress of the house to not be there.”Before Jade could answer, h

“You underestimate Emmie’s feelings for Roman Saul. I will make her take the initiative to deliver Stewart’s property to me, and I will not get less than what I’ve lost to Roman.”Jade had no doubts in regards to his confidence at all, and she understood that the meeting the next day had to be held
