Chapter 256 Mrs Owens

Autor: Tea Splasher
Everyone in the elevator behaved as if they were watching a show.

Nephele’s face turned pale and red. She gritted her teeth and asked, “Jade, you’ve resigned. Instead of resting at home and taking care of your baby, why are you at Vantage?”

Jade casually glanced at her. She guessed that all business in the company was controlled by Nephele, so Jade being back again terrified her the most.

Jade’s smile widened. The more Nephele was afraid of something, the more she was tempted to add on to her fear.

“Naturally, I came to look for Mister Whittle to talk about me coming back to work. It’s so boring for me to take care of my baby at home. I’d better come back and work for two more months. I can also share the workload with you, Miss Kirby.”

Ding! Right after she said it, the elevator stopped. She slowly walked out from the elevator, not forgetting to turn around for a final say, “Wait for me please.”

Nephele’s pale face disappeared in the elevator.

That was sufficient for her to lose her appetite for two days.

Jade smiled, and her mood rose further.

She knocked on the door of the CEO office and carefully listened. When nobody answered the door, she prepared to knock again after a few seconds.

She never expected the door to swing open swiftly, by none other than Mister Whittle.

Jade immediately smiled and tried to express her apologies, “Mister Whittle, I’m sorry for troubling you again…”

“Come in and talk.” Mister Whittle interrupted her, and he carried a ghost of a smile on his face.

Jade was stunned. She initially thought she would not be welcomed by him. Although Zephaniah was there when they last met, Mister Whittle did not look unhappy. But after all, she had dealt the company a heavy blow. The staff did not seem too happy to see her either.

“You’re pregnant. Sit down and talk.” Mister Whittle pointed at the sofa before he casually got her a cup of water.

Jade felt thankful that she had not worked so hard for nothing after all these years.

“How many months are you pregnant?” Mister Whittle smiled as he looked at her and asked.

Jade stroked her belly and smiled. “It’s the fifth month.”

“Okay,” He half-jokingly said. “It seems that resignation is not something bad. You can rest at home and take care of yourself.”

Jade lowered her head and smiled before she raised her head with a complicated expression.

“Mister Whittle, I know how much loss I have caused you, so I felt embarrassed to come again. But I’m a stubborn person. I won’t be convinced if I can’t find the person who framed me.” She hesitated for a while before she spoke again, “I’m here to ask you for help in looking up magazines that reported me at that time and ask for the sources of the photos. Vantage was also one of the victims in the middle, so if you ask, it’ll be the most understandable.”

Mister Whittle sat back at the desk, and he was smiling. “It’s been some time since it happened. How did you know that I’m willing to dig it out of the mud?”

Jade was stunned. She blinked.

Before she came, she had thought about it for a long time. But among people by her side who had connections with the magazines, Zephaniah was the first.

She could not rely on him for everything. It was still unclear if they could still get back together. If he left her in the future, she would not be able to protect herself. Although she had thought of this, she still felt a little heartache.

The next person would Roman Saul, but going to him meant walking into his trap.

“I just came to try. If it’s not convenient for you, I’ll think of other ways,” Jade blurted out.

When Jade saw Mister Whittle resting his chin on his hand, she thought for a while before she spoke up again, “I just need you to investigate the source of the photos. I’ll handle the rest.”

What she meant was that she would not cause him much trouble.

Mister Whittle smiled as he nodded. “No problem.”

Jade did not expect him to agree off the bat. When she resigned back then, he had gotten really mad.

“I could not help but let you leave the company at that time, and I’m still quite guilty. It’s good that I could help you now.”

He said it beautifully, so Jade was convinced. The big boss of the company was really great.

“I’ll contact the magazine over the next two days, and I’ll contact you when I receive any news.”

Jade smiled as she stood up. “Okay, I shall not disturb you then.”

When she took her bag, she suddenly registered. She turned around and asked, “How’s Martin in the company?”

Mister Whittle looked at her intently. He stopped for a few seconds before he smiled and said, “He’s alright. He is hardworking and he’s doing quite well. This young man has a brilliant mind, but…” He quirked his eyebrows. “Based on my experience working with people these years, this guy might not be as innocent as he looks.”

Jade squinted. She did not quite understand why he said that.

Mister Whittle felt he had spoken too much, so he smoothed the situation. “Those are just my personal thoughts. But since Mister Whittle purposely made a call over and asked me to take him in, he must be somewhat talented.”

Jade nodded slightly. She did not say anything else before she stepped out of the CEO office.

……

Blanche did not see Zephaniah at the floor where the CEO office was, so she came down again.

She saw a few young girls talking beside the windows.

“What are you looking at here instead of working?” Blanche walked over before she scolded them arrogantly.

A few of them pouted and walked away. They grumbled unhappily.

When Blanche looked out the glass, Zephaniah’s car was parked downstairs at Vantage. She turned around and asked one of the girls just now, “Why is Mister Owens’s car parked at that side?”

The girl cast a glance at her. She initially did not want to speak, but she recalled a scene just now that could bring this arrogant woman down.

“Probably because he sent his wife to work. Just now, we even saw Mrs Owens getting down from the car.”

When Blanche heard it, she immediately glared at her angrily. Her face contorted, and her voice became sharp. “What Mrs Owens?! He divorced! Don’t ever let me hear this term again!”

She looked out the window again before she stamped on her high heels and went out.

“She was initially Mrs Owens. Even after they divorced, she could still make Mister Owens send her personally. This is enough to say that she is the real master. Blanche is just the third party. Who is she to talk so much here…” The girl felt wronged, so she turned around and whispered to her friend.

“Don’t get mad at her. Let’s see if Mister Owens will look at her every day.”

……

……

When Jade got down to the lobby, she received a call from Zephaniah.

She could not help but scold him inwardly. He was really good at estimating the time…

“Is your discussion done?” Zephaniah’s expression and voice were gentle. He was sitting in the first place in the meeting room. He did not take notice of his subordinate’s watchful eyes, as he spoke openly into the phone.

Jade hummed nasally. “Yes.”

Zephaniah was not bothered about her coldness. He glanced at the projector behind him. It was ending soon.

“You wait downstairs for a few minutes. I’ll send you back after the meeting.” When he wanted to hang up, he remembered something again. “It’s hot outside. Wait inside the building.”

He hung up before Jade replied.

She stared at the phone, stunned. The elevator stopped.

When she came out from Vantage, the temperature outside had already increased. She squinted and was in thought for a while. She thought about going back to the lobby to wait, but the lobby was crowded with people she knew. She would not be able to avoid being a topic of the upcoming gossips.

She could only briskly cross the street.

The receptionist already knew her. She invited Jade to wait in the VIP room enthusiastically, but Jade smiled as she rejected her.

He was always punctual. When he asked her to wait for a few minutes, it would be a few minutes sharp. So, she would not have to take the trouble.

The elevator at the waiting area in the lobby was opened. Jade casually cast a glance before she immediately stopped the receptionist. “I think I’d better go to the VIP room.”

The receptionist was stunned before she immediately smiled. Being able to serve for Mrs Owens was her honour.

“Please go this way. Be careful.”

Jade turned around, and she hoped that the woman did not see her. She did not want to get mad while waiting for a few minutes.

But she did not know that Blanche was right on her heels. How was it possible for her to miss the chance?

“Jade Redfern!”

Jade stopped her steps. She could not help but curse. The receptionist heard it before she looked at her in shock.

Jade smiled faintly before she said to the receptionist, “Someone is looking for me. You may go ahead with your work.”

Loveless Marriage: My Dear Ex, Please Conduct Yourself with Dignity    Chapter 350 Will We Have Nothing Else To Do Now

Within half a month, the news of the engagement of the first daughter of Howells family in South City and the only son of Weaver family, the jewellery big shot in Imperial City had spread. Two of them were even interviewed together by the news media, and there were also some gossips reporting that the two of them held hands and went to the maternity stores together. The engagement banquet was scheduled tomorrow. Today, the Weaver family in Imperial City held a cocktail party in advance. An invitation card was delivered to Zephaniah’s office. He was initially not interested in attending the party, but when his fingers rubbed over the cover of the invitation card, he instantly felt interested. The invitation card of Weaver family purposely used the business label of Peak Corporation, as if they were trying to hint something.Jade just finished eating her breakfast. She pushed the chair away and wanted to walk to the bedroom. She saw the caregiver coming out with a newspaper and point

When they went back to South City, it was already evening. The rain had stopped, and the air was filled with slight moisture. The night sky came. Jade was covered with Zephaniah’s coat as she got down the car. On the way back, both of them remained silent, and none of them talked. The caregiver looked around for a long time at the door. After she heard the car engine, she opened the door of the courtyard anxiously. She saw the two of them walking in one after another, and their expressions did not look good.“Sir, Madam, your parents came in the afternoon. They have been waiting for you.” The caregiver closed the door of the courtyard, and she walked past the corridor at the back of them. Before they went into the house, they heard Jade’s mother’s cheerful laughter as she babbled along with the babies. After they went to the living room, they saw Jade’s mother holding Lincoln on the sofa. She raised her hand high, and her eyes were filled with love. Jade’s father sat on the wheel

She saw his ankle being wrapped in white gauze on the hospital bed, and she instantly felt better. She moved her sight away from Zephaniah, smiled faintly, and looked into Heidi’s eyes. “Miss Howells, are you still okay?” The smile in her eyes was unfathomably deep. Heidi’s smile froze on her lips, but she still calmly dealt with her. “Not a big deal. I just sprained my ankle when I got down the stairs. I didn’t expect Miss Redfern to visit on purpose. Sorry for bothering you.” Jade pursed her lips and glanced at Zephaniah who had already gotten up and was by her side. She grabbed his arms and chuckled. “You’ve overthought, Miss Howells. I came to look for Zeph, so I also took this chance to visit you.” As she spoke, she glanced around and saw an unfamiliar man sitting on the other side of the hospital bed.The man showed the ghost of a smile on the corner of his lips. He quirked his eyebrows, while his body leaned against the back of the chair. He gave off a relaxed elegance, a

After she got into the car, she called Zephaniah before she started the engine, but nobody answered. While she drove to Seagan City, she roughly understood what Martin said, so she subconsciously stepped on the accelerator. Before she went to the hospital, she bought a fruit basket and some flowers from the shop nearby. She then went to ask about in the nurse station, and she figured out the ward where Zephaniah’s mother was.“She has not been in a very good mood recently. When you go inside, you must speak softly.” The young nurse pointed at the ward before she reminded Jade kindly. The air was humid. On the way from South City, it rained heavily. Jade could not help but get herself a little wet. Her fringe on her forehead curled up damply, and it stuck to her head. She tied her hair to a low ponytail. With her indifferent expression, she gave off an extremely cold aura. Her footsteps resounded in the corridor, and she arrived at the door of the ward. She stood there for a while.

The caregiver sighed. “Today, when I went to the supermarket to buy some groceries, I remembered you wanting to bring two more nursing bottles to the school, so I went to the second floor and took a look. Later when I was on the second floor, I noticed a woman following me. I then recalled what you’ve told me. So, I didn’t buy anything at all, and I went back to the first floor again.” As Jade heard it, she was slightly flustered, and her expression darkened quickly. She blurted out, “What happened after that?” “That woman stopped me. She said her baby at home needed to drink milk, but she didn’t know what she should buy, so she asked me to check it out for her. As she spoke, she even stuffed five hundred to my hands. I was dragged around by her. She said she wanted to buy milk powder, but I think she was trying to trick me into telling her something.” As the caregiver said it, she rubbed her hands before she passed the five hundred dollar bill. “This is the money she gave me.”

Who are you, little b*tch? Can’t you see that we’re having our meal?” She thought that Jade was a woman whom Zephaniah had met in an unknown nightclub, so her expression became extremely unpleasant, and what she said was even more awful to hear.Zephaniah looked down as he listened to her. He could not afford to hear any more, so he moved to get up. However, a stable force weighed down on his shoulder, and he could not get up as intended. He raised his head and saw Jade pressing his shoulder while staring at Crystal across from him. She slowly curled the corner of her lips as if she was not triggered by Crystal at all. “If I’m not wrong, this lady has come here for a blind date with Mister Cobb, right?” She smiled.Jade gradually moved her arm away, but her smile grew brighter. “Our Mister Cobb needs to attend blind dates with at least ten women in a month, but nobody has been able to spend even ten days with him. I've been by his side for almost four years. So by comparison, who’s

Jade thought he would leave immediately. After all, the banquet had been messed up. She laid down for a while. Although she was still angry, her stomach disappointedly felt hungry. She only ate something before the banquet dinner, so she could not resist anything now. When she opened the door of

Roman’s thoughts ran deep. How was it possible for her to see through him so easily?Roman habitually touched his silver-grey sleeve. His gaze was profound, and he flashed a smile.“Naturally I am… concerned. After all, Mister Owens and I are old friends,” he said, his voice not lacking sincerity.

Jade did not show any expression, but she found it sarcastic.Heidi’s smile was decent, and she said calmly, “I just showed up. I didn’t really offer any practical help.” She cast a glance at Jade before she continued saying, “Miss Redfern is pregnant, but she still came to visit Zeph. I am so touc
