Chapter 251 Don’t You Like Photography Too?

Jade smiled. She freed herself from Zephaniah’s arms, and her hair became a little messy.

Maple was half a head taller than her. Her neat, casual outfit in black and white colors made her appear slender. Plus, her shoulder-length hair fell casually, and her exquisite features were full of life. Whoever saw her would be amazed at first glance.

As she walked closer, she narrowed her eyes and sized Jade up for a while. That was an impolite move.

She had her arms wrapped around her chest, while her eyes scanned Jade up and down.

Jade looked a little embarrassed. It was the first time she had been judged so fearlessly, so she did not feel comfortable. She cleared her throat and faced Maple directly. “Miss Howells, is there something on me that's drawing your attention? What is it about me that has caught your interest?”

Maple was a little surprised by how calm Jade was. She blinked and wore a smile on her delicate face. Clearly, she had become more interested.

Jade wanted to raise her hand to tidy up her hair, but she gave up halfway.

Why should she still tidy up her hair? She already lost to this lady in all aspects.

Suddenly, she was pulled back, and her body was covered. She instantly felt warm.

Jade felt slightly at ease.

Maple raised her eyebrows. This woman could make him become so protective.

However, when she saw Jade’s hands on the obvious bump on her belly, her eyes grew a little brighter.

“I’m not thinking about eating her. What are you afraid of?” She grinned, and her eyes crinkled in amusement.

Jade seemed aloof. “Forget about the fact that you’re friends for a moment. We’re here to take photos, is this the way you welcome your guests?”

Zephaniah remained silent. When he noticed the fine sweat on Jade's neck, his face darkened. He said to Maple, “I heard that Greyson has been avoiding you?”

Maple’s expression instantly changed. She knew that Zephaniah and Greyson were buddies, hence what he said would carry weight…

She lowered her hands sensibly, put on a smile on her face, and reached out to hold Jade. “Zephaniah and I have been friends since we were little, and he's even closer with my sister. I was just joking with you earlier, please don’t mind me. If you want to take any photos, just let me know. I guarantee that you will be satisfied.”

Jade discreetly moved out of Maple's grasp, and her face became more amicable. “If that's the case, please begin capturing the photos as soon as possible.”

Zephaniah held her in his arm as they walked along the long corridor.

Maple cast a glance at the girl who was standing at the side. “Bring my best equipment over. Also, ask more people to come over and serve them well.”

While walking through the long corridor, Jade thought about something.

Maple's surname was Howells. Jade had heard that the Howells family was famous for the literary arts in South City's high social circle. She could not be wrong when she looked at Maple’s temperament and appearance.

In contrast, Maple’s sister rarely showed up in public. Jade could not help but raise her head and gaze at Zephaniah’s side profile. She could not imagine how the lady who was extremely close with him looked like.

“Is she a photographer?” Jade asked abruptly.

Zephaniah looked at her and calmly nodded. He answered, “It’s just an interest of hers, but she might be somewhat talented in the field. She has accidentally received a few major awards, and she opened this studio because of said interest.”

Jade subconsciously gasped in astonishment. How wasteful of her to use such a huge place near the city center just to cultivate her interest.

Zephaniah pondered for a while before he added, “She's quite skilled, so you can rest assured.”/

Jade glanced at him. “What would I be worried about?”

“Don’t you like photography too? You probably have good judgment in this regard.”

When they first got married, she had brought along a camera from her home. Later, he would always notice that she would take it along whenever she went out. He then bought her the latest model, but he never saw her using it.

Jade sighed. Her skills were considered above average when she took random photos, but that was not even comparable to a professional photographer. She was afraid that she could not even consider it her hobby when compared with Maple’s skills.

When he saw that she remained silent, he smiled and lowered his head, kissing her on the crown. “I have some skills. I’ll take photos of you for you.”

In just a while, the atmosphere in the studio became cold when Maple clashed with Zephaniah.

Maple was holding her precious camera while casting doubt on Zephaniah’s opinion. “Taking photos of a pregnant lady with the outdoors as the background is absolutely discordant. The background to show the love between a mother and her babies should be simple as well as pure.”

Zephaniah held Jade as he wore the ghost of a smile. “Can a lifeless curtain and some simple tools show it? I don’t think so.”

He glanced at the curtain and then at Jade before he confirmed that it was not suitable. A dull studio was only fit for commercial advertisements.

Jade stared at the rocking chair and the lilies on the curtain. It was truly not easy for her to put on a lovely expression.

“What do you think about shooting outside?” Jade turned around and asked Zephaniah.

“Nothing, but it’s better than wasting our time here. Let’s go out.”

He grabbed her by the wrist, wanting to walk outside. He did not show Maple any respect.

Maple felt that her professionalism was being challenged, but she could not let someone without any photography skills judge her. There was a glint in her eyes, and she suddenly noticed something when she stared at their backs.

“Don’t go,” Maple suddenly said. She quickly walked to them and passed the camera to Zephaniah before she winked, smiled, and said, “You’re right. Take the photos on your own, then. You can take them wherever you want, and you can do it according to your preference.”

After she said that, she walked away without turning back.

Her assistants looked at each other in confusion, and they did not know whether to go away or stay.

Jade smiled at them and gently said, “You guys can leave first. I’ll stay here with him for a while.”

Once there were only two of them, Jade could not be bothered to restrain herself anymore. She went to get some water before she turned back and asked Zephaniah, “Do you want some?”

But during the time that she turned away, he started to busy himself with the camera.

He really wanted to take some photos on his own…

A while later, a calm-looking Zephaniah stood at the entrance and said to her, “Let’s go to the courtyard.”

Jade was eating a slice of watermelon while sitting in a chair. She stuffed her mouth with the fruit as she looked at him blankly.

Click! Click! At the next second, she had her photo taken.

She frowned and swallowed the watermelon. “This is too casual. Wait until I pose…”

Before she could finish speaking, the shutter sound was heard again.

A few dozen photos had already been taken by the time Jade put down the watermelon, got up, and walked to him.

She could not help but doubt him. “Do you really know how to take photos? Normally, people don’t press the shutter so quickly.”

She reached out to take the camera from his hand, but he avoided her.

Zephaniah took care to make sure that she did not fall down while he checked the images with one hand.

After flipping through multiple images, he finally looked relieved. Happiness filled his eyes as he passed the camera to her. “Look at this photo.”

Jade was instantly distracted.

In the photo, she was holding his hand and supporting her waist with the other hand. She appeared both happy and angry. Her skin was extraordinarily fair and smooth under the sunlight, while her eyes were bright…

The photo did look good.

Zephaniah let out a light huff and laughed. Soon after, he raised his eyebrows and said, “This is my photography skill. Keep capturing photos, and you’ll get one that satisfies you.”

Jade felt her lips twitch. “Sure, you’re really good at it.”

Two hours passed in the blink of an eye. When Maple checked out her camera, she could not help but grit her teeth. A thousand photos had been taken in just a short while. How long would it take her to select among them?

“I can bring the images back and select them slowly. Then I’ll send them to you once I organize them,” Jade said thoughtfully.

Zephaniah kept quiet for a while but later said, “Looking at the laptop for a long time isn’t good for you. Just let her do the job. It’s her job, anyway.”

Jade opened her mouth while she secretly poked his waist. When she saw that he was not moved at all, she came up with an idea. “The photos were all taken by you, so you know which photos are the best. You’re the best person to do it.” She smirked.

His expression instantly turned dark. He did not expect her to defend an outsider.
