Charlie was startled by what Yahiko had just said.

Firstly, he had never expected Yahiko to know so much about Oskian culture.

Secondly, he had never thought that Yahiko would mention the cycle of fate.

He might not know if the Japanese believed in luck and fortune. But now, he knew that the Japanese at least believed in fate.

What Yahiko had mentioned might have seemed like a normal conversation. However, there were hidden meanings in between.

Whatever he had said was not entirely nonsense. After all, no one could be certain about fate.

Charlie sighed before he said to Yahiko, “Mr. Ito, I think that it is best to leave the future alone for its good. After all, you and I can never control our own fate.”

Ito nodded, then said in a serious tone, “Mr. Wade, from now on, you’re always welcome to our family. During this time, the Ito family will take this opportunity to strengthen themselves. We aren’t going to form alliances with any families or enterprises from overseas. If you change your mind someday and want to aim higher and become more ambitious, the Ito family is always there to form partnerships with you without any conditions!”

Charlie laughed and said, “I thank you for your kind offer. However, I’m not an ambitious person by nature. I am neither highly-educated nor a capable man. I will leave that to fate.”

Despite Charlie having changed his perception toward Yahiko, he had not completely let his guard down.

As such, Charlie did not wish to let him know about his future plans.

To be frank, Charlie had hoped to expand the Apothecary Pharmaceutical.
