Chapter 26

Bella's p.o.v

I watched satisfied as everyone knelt down in fear facing the ground. 

"Perfect" i whispered as i calmed down and looked at my trembling mate. 

"As of today your job is to do as i command or please, every time you fail to do what i tell you one werewolf dies, i will start with your beta or mother when you fail to comply" i said lazily as the flames i had no idea i had disappeared. 

"How could you do such a thing to your own mate?" The lady asked lowly while holding haggai's hand. 

"He did worse to me, i feel like eating how about you make food for everyone in this pack? No one is to help you" i said as the lady stood up. 

"No, i would rather die than watch my son suffer this way" she said angrily. 

Haggai stood up and covered her mouth with his hand. 

"Forgive her, she's just a human whose naive" he whispered as i smiled. 

I walked in the big pack house feeling content, but deep down, my heart was crying for losing Michael, deep down i was so sad and lonely. 

I walked upstairs and looked at the many door that were on each side of the corridor, i opened the one that looked larger than all and entered, judging from the beautiful expensive ruby design and gold sheets that were spread on the bed this was a high ranks room, a desk was set on the left side with a chair, the right side were two leather couches and a king size bed, near the bed was a glass door that led to the balcony, i looked at the big wardrobe that was a bit far from the desk then smiled. 

I went and opened the wardrobe, it was filled with expensive suits and a few beautiful dresses, i took off the ripped jeans i wore and see through shirt, i pulled out a purple long sleeved dress that was covered in front but cut low on the back and slowly wore it then pulled the band that was on my hair off, my hair fell comfortably on my shoulders. 

It was getting late, i really hated the thought of being surrounded by werewolves but it was worth it if it meant i could watch the arrogant bastard become what he hated the most, i looked at the mirror that was attached to the wardrobe sadly, i really looked pale and the dark circles under my eyes looked horrible, the past days all i did was cry my eyes out to sleep everyday, i missed the past life that wasn't mine at all. 

I slowly went out of the bedroom and closed the door behind me, i could hear the loud whispers coming from many of the pack members, i slowly went downstairs and went in what i knew was a kitchen, many stood far watching their alpha struggle to cook, the elderly lady who i now knew was his mother stood in tears watching him as he stirred the big pot while trying so hard not to burn himself, i cleared my throat getting everyone's attention.

Haggai's p.o.v

When i heard someone clearing their voice i turned, and there she was, my mate stood looking very beautiful in a dress i had bought for mother but failed to give her due to my pride and stupidity. 

I knew Stan was gone, if i still had him i could have sensed or smelt her before she could have even stepped into the kitchen, i still was attracted to her despite not having Stan with me, i felt empty but i knew, it was all my fault that she did this, i was willing to accept any punishment from her if she would one day be willing to forgive me as her mate, lover, friend or a neighbour, i really wanted to make up for my wrong and sins that i had done. 

She moved closer and looked at the rice in the big pot that was on the stove then the water i was boiling in the cattle on another plate. 

"Why isn't the food ready?" She asked coldly as i frowned. 

"I only started cooking a while ago, like five minutes " i answered. 

She got the cattle of boiling water and poured it on my leg as i screamed out in pain and fell down. 

Mother rushed to me and looked at the huge skin that was rising on my foot, she ran to the tap and switched it on, the water poured in a cup that was in the sink, she quickly came back and poured it on my legs while sobbing lowly, i slowly sniffed the forming tears back. 

"Can anyone bring a bandage and some medicine? The burn is to much!!" Mother screamed while looking at everyone who stood in fear not moving an inch. 

She quickly rushed upstairs, i looked at Bella who stood staring at my burn emotionlessly. 

"Everyone resume to your daily work duties, those who cook get on with it, as for Haggai, tomorrow i won't be this Linnet on you, today you will sleep outside in the cold with no blanket or sheets, if you feel like running feel free, not only will i kill your mother and everyone in this pack, you will suffer with your health then later die, that curse will worsen every time you get far away from me, the only way it can remain stable is by being close to me the witch who cast the curse" she said loudly as i wept lowly. 

I was not crying because of the pain i felt, i wept because i had turned a sweet girl like her into a monster, many looked away in sadness and fear. 

Mother quickly came downstairs with a first aid kit and knelt in front of me. 

"I'm going to sleep, don't wake me up or bother me, if i find out someone helped you in the night, be prepared to burry their body as corpse" she spat then went back upstairs. 

Mother glared at everyone angrily, they all quickly moved and went to do their duties, i touched mothers hand gently. 

"It will be fine" i whispered as she nodded.
