Chapter 24

Haggai's p.o.v

"What do you mean a mere human? Isn't she a powerful supernatural?" I asked loudly confused. 

"No, that's what we thought too at first, when Yevone made her bending spell, the girl couldn't break free, we all know very well, any powerful supernatural can never be bind by such a spell, it could only tie them for a few minutes and later they would break free, this girl is just a mere human, if you don't believe me you can try asking her or i can check her out for you to make sure" she said lowly. 

It took me a minute to take the news in, i turned and faced Bella. 

"Is what she said true? I know you can't lie to me, we are mates after all, i can see through your lie, so tell me" i said softly as she sobbed. 

"Haggai, it doesn't matter if she's human or not, we need her" Stan said as i ignored him. 

"Answer me please" i whispered lowly. 

"I'm sorry, I'm just a mere human, i learnt about mates and supernaturals from Andy, we are still mates, we can work it out even if I'm human right?" She asked lowly as i laughed out loudly. 

She is a human!! I hated humans more than anything in this world. 

"Fuck! Fuck! How come you are telling me this now!! You couldn't have told me sooner before we even gathered here!?!" I yelled at tori angrily. 

"I'm sorry Mr Hemsworth, i had no idea you would take interest in her" she answered lowly. 

"Tori you know i fucking hate weak creatures, a human is the worst!! You could have told me sooner, i wasted my kind words on trash like her, i can't believe it, i went as far as following her and kissing her just to win her heart, i thought she was a supernatural! Fuck! What a waste of time and pretence!!" I yelled. 

"Haggai we need her" Stan growled. 

I angrily pushed him back in my sub conscious and locked him up, i knew if Stan was to come out he would take his mates side. 

"What should we do with them?" Tori asked. 

"Kill them!! I want them dead, I'm willing to pay double the amount of our normal for their death, i can't believe i wasted my precious time on a bitch" i spat as i moved closer and looked at Bella disgusted with her. 

"I Haggai Hemsworth, Alpha of the high moon park, reject you Bella as my mate and Luna of my pack" i said ignoring Stan who was fighting to come out and take back my words, not long ago we agreed we didn't need a mate and now he was willing to fight me for her. 

She sobbed loudly, i felt bad, i wanted to embrace her and take her with me, when the vampire guy held her hand my heart was filled with anger and jealousy. 

"You look good together you pathetic trash, Tori please remove these trash from my sight and clean up the mess" i commanded as i heard laughter from all corners of the room. 

This night was the worst day in all my alpha years. 

I went out without a single look or glance behind, i knew if i did i wouldn't hold myself back from going to her, embracing and begging her for forgiveness.

The past two weeks were hell to me, i finally understood why my father kept my mother close to him despite mistreating her, an alpha without a mate was weak but an alpha who had rejected a mate was weaker, i couldn't train or focus on both work or my pack, Stan wasn't talking to me and it hurt a lot, i regretted ever rejecting her, i now knew that father was a crazy liar, he was just messed up and blinded by power. 

He pushed his fears and goals on me that i made his goals and fears as mine, i believed it was for the best until now, i realised that i lost big time and i felt like crying, not only did i lose the love of my life that only came once in a lifetime, i ordered her death, power and strength were nothing without her by my side, my pack was falling into pieces with each passing day. 

One thing i was so sure about was that my mate was not dead yet, if she was, i and Stan would have suffered severe pain and later we could have died too, mates were meant to be together forever, one wouldn't survive without the other unless by chance they are given a second chance mate by the moon goddess and that was a rare case. 

I ordered my men to look for her the whole town but they always came back with the same results, she was no where to be seen, i tried digging any information about her but failed, it's like her information was safely hidden, i also couldn't smell her sweet scent anymore although i felt her presence many times, she was really near but yet so far away from me, my pack members avoided me in fear of my foul mood even Brit did, only Ryan dared to approach me. 

I sat in my office feeling lonely and empty, i was so full of regrets, if only that night i had listened to her cry and Stan i wouldn't be feeling this broken. 

The door opened and mother entered, i slowly stood up. 

"I know you hate me, but i was worried about you, the past weeks you haven't been eating well, you look pale and you have lost weight, i made something downstairs for you please do eat something, I'm really worried about you" she said lowly as my eyes became watery. 

"After all the pain i have caused you, you still care?" I asked as she smiled softly. 

"Of course i do, I'm your mother, no matter what, i want the best for you son" she answered. 

I went to her and hugged her as i sobbed lowly. 

"Mother, i lost her because of my stupidity, i also hurt you a lot" i cried as she rubbed my back gently.
