Chapter 259 Find A Reliable Boss

Gilberto looked at her through the rear-view mirror and stepped on the brake.

“Madam…” Gilberto suddenly spoke up.

Jade was stunned. He rarely ever took the initiative to talk first, so she frowned and looked at him. “Yes?”

“Whenever other men sit in the car, Mister Owens will deduct my salary.”

Jade became mad and she gritted her teeth. Indeed, what kind of bosses would hire such drivers. She said gruffly, “Why are you still working for such a mean boss? Quickly resign and look for another more reliable.”

Gilberto immediately kept his mouth shut. He regretted being impetuous this time. Gemarya was right. He should not provoke the person who gave even his boss trouble.

After Easton got into the car, he cast a glance at Gilberto before he smiled and said to Jade, “Mister Owens is very thoughtful.”

Jade smiled. “Yes, very thoughtful…”

“Where will you meet him?” Easton asked.

Jade thought for a while before she said, “Happy Dine. That place is quite remote.”

A part of her was still dubious. Shouldn’t the paparazzi keep an eye on the celebrities in the big cities at all times? Why did he go to the town?

It was only after they arrived when she knew how remote the place was. It was sparsely populated. The few of its occupants were middle-aged men who sat together and played cards.

They found the restaurant easily. Before they went into the restaurant, they heard the clacking noise of mahjong. Easton had her stand at the door while he went inside to find the person.

After a while, he led an aloof, easygoing young man in his thirties. Jade invited him to get into the car and talk.

“Why are you after me? I was just working for them. I just took photos for whatever they wanted. They gave me money, I gave them photos.” As the young man spoke, he sized up the two of them. It happened a long time ago, and there were some changes in their outfits, so he could not recognize that he did take photos of these two people.

Jade stared at him. “Who are ‘they’?”

“The magazines.”

Jade could not help but laugh. “Would magazines pay you to take photos of an unknown woman? Could they earn from that?”

“Wasn’t there a famous person? That Zephaniah Owens is a big shot!”

Jade was not stupid. When the news came out, the news had been focused on her only. They barely even mentioned Zephaniah.

Easton suddenly sneered. He released a dreary aura as if he was prepared to interrogate a criminal.

Was this how he looked like when he worked?

“You can’t afford the branded clothing on your body with this job. Someone must have paid you in bulk a while ago. I’m afraid that the source of the money must be from the person who paid you money and took the photos from you. I only have one question, do you understand that you’re abetting in a crime?”

As his words hung in the air, the paparazzi was obviously terrified. He opened his mouth but no words came.

The young paparazzi looked at Gilberto in front of him, and he looked around. A while later, he said, “A beautiful woman let me take the photos. She paid me a lot, but I really don’t know her.” Suddenly, he chuckled embarrassedly. He looked at Jade and said, “Many things happen among rich women, so it’s useless for your company to investigate any further.”

Jade’s face instantly darkened. “You better keep your mouth shut if you finish talking!”

The first person she could think of by reflex was Blanche. She took out her phone, found an image, and asked, “Is it her?”

“No. She was prettier than this, and she looked more elegant.”

She was upset as she shut her phone, thinking if it was done by other admirers of Zephaniah.

Easton said calmly, “It’s okay, keep recalling.”

Jade suddenly turned back and asked the paparazzi, “Do you still keep her contact number?”

“Yes, but I couldn’t reach her after that.”

“Just give it to me.”

After she took the number, they went back.

“I have a friend working in the police station. He can check the source of the number.” Easton calmly said.

Jade smiled as she shook her head. “Let me handle the rest. I’m too embarrassed to bother the police.”

When Easton saw her bright smile and also knew she was used to being independent, he did not say anything again.

Gilberto directly sent him to pick up Taylor, but because the school had not ended yet, he let Jade go home first.

After Gilberto watched Jade going upstairs, he made a call to Zephaniah.

“How’s it?” Zephaniah was also driving. He was on the way leaving the office.

“We found an expired contact number. I’ll send it to you immediately.” Gilberto said with his serious face, and his tone was as cold as usual.

Zephaniah felt that he had not finished his words, so he asked again, “Any other problems?”

“Easton Mcdaniel also went with us.” Gilberto could feel the gloom from the other side of the phone, and he slightly hesitated. “He is a lawyer, so he also helped madam.”

Zephaniah sneered. “I got it.”

After saying that, he hung up.

An unknown number was sent over very quickly, and he directly forwarded it to Gemarya. He attached a few words. [Send me the outcome in half an hour.]

When the car was parked in the garage, an email was received.

It was a very familiar name. [Emmie Stewart.]

Zephaniah’s eyes became dark, and he smiled. She was really not a simple woman.

When Zephaniah entered the house, Jade was sitting on the sofa, watching the television. She looked as if she was thinking about something.

When he saw that Jade’s parents were not around, he directly walked over and pulled her into his arms. He lowered his head and asked, “What did you do in the afternoon?”

Jade rolled her eyes at him. She hated to see him acting hypocritically, so she sneered. “Didn’t the person who you’ve spent so much to hire tell you about that?”

Zephaniah did not get mad. He nodded, “Yes, he told me. But I want you to tell me yourself. He is not interesting. He wrapped the whole thing up with just two sentences.”

Although she knew Gilberto would tell him, she never expected things to move this fast. Was this any different from being monitored?

Her face instantly darkened. She got up and tried to walk away, but he tugged at her wrist. When he pulled it more strongly, she fell into his arms. She screamed in shock. She was afraid of hurting the babies, so she quickly supported her body by placing her hands on his shoulder. His face was magnified in front of her, and he smirked proudly. At that moment, she believed that he put his hands around her waist only so that her belly would not be struck.

“Is this fun?!” Jade was furious.

Zephaniah did not answer. He only smiled faintly. His lips were in front of her, and they looked so alluring.

At the next second, he covered her lips with his lips. Jade opened her eyes widely, and she started pushing with her hands. She tried to push herself off, but he let go of one hand before directly putting it behind her head and enveloping her. Their lips were pressed against each other, and she could not even gasp for air.

Jade blushed. She knew how embarrassing she looked, leaning on him. If her parents came back and saw this, she would die from shame.

As these thoughts ran through her mind, Zephaniah kissed her more passionately. Intense emotion could be felt every time their lips and teeth touched.

Suddenly, they heard noise at the entrance. Jade was flustered, so she punched his shoulder.

A smile was seen in Zephaniah’s eyes. As if on purpose, it was only when the key was inserted into the door before he released her.

Jade stood up in a panic. She thought it awkward to be caught facing him, so she immediately sat down while her parents opened the door at the same time.
