Chapter 1 Lewis’ Family Bloodline Limit Inheritance

Link Lewis had discovered something odd. His eyes had the ability to see through an object’s outer layer, revealing its true nature. That was what happened then…Standing in front of him was a Jennifer Rayleigh, the beautiful Director of Golden Sands Hospital. She stood tall at around 175cm. She had a beautiful face. With hair as black as it was silky smooth and curves that could have been moulded by Aphrodite herself. The unseen aura enveloping her was of regal stature, tinged with arrogance. Yet, that did not stop her from becoming the number one woman in the hearts of all men in Golden Sands Hospital. In his eyes, the beautiful woman’s clothes were gone. In actuality, it was gone from his vision. He could see through Jennifer’s exterior clothes and take in the sight of her bare skin; as fair and white as white jade. That and her 36Ds hollowed-out bra.‘Hold up. The ice queen Jennifer Rayleigh would actually wear such sexy lingerie.’Link eyebrows twitched and at the same t

Chapter 2 A Wrong Text to the Director

Everything was in a daze. Link was stunned and when he came to, he realized he was in an alternate space, an unknown dimension, an abyss with no end in sight. The same ancient book appeared in front of him. The book flipped open on its own to the first page. Then, a priest in black robes, albeit semi-translucent and phantom-like appeared. “I am one of the Lewis bloodline past. The founder of the Devil’s Mend Teaching. Inherit you shall today, my own teaching to you, the Thirteen Needles of the Devil’s Mend. Watch and learn.” The priest revealed a few needles he had and the needles flew about, like butterflies through a flower’s petal; graceful and flawless, mysterious and enigmatic.Like an epiphany dawning on him, Link felt enlightened. All the medical knowledge he had not understood on the first page of the ancient book was made understandable to him at that moment. The book seemed to be activated through bloodletting and only then would it bestow its knowledge. Link und

Chapter 3 Pretending to Fall Sick

Only after the text went through did it dawn upon him that he may gone too far. That being said, Link was not the only one to blame. One could say that Jennifer Rayleigh was just too tempting to men.Her usual icy demeanour and arrogant behaviour would drive away anyone who dared approach her. But now, Link managed had managed to peel off her icy facade and reveal the feisty lady within.[Uh nuh. No such photo. That said, it’s not like I can take such a photo right now.]Link was disappointed. She had to be in her office right now, working. It was only natural that she could not take such a photo. Just as Link was about to send another reply, the sound of an engine roaring was heard from the hospital gate. A screech of tyres skidding to a halt later, a Bentley stopped. A middle-aged man dressed in a suit hastily got out of the car and opened the rear door. He carried a pale girl from the back seat. The girl looked weak and unenergetic, as if she was no longer breathing. Link fix

Chapter 4 Truly a Pretense

“Another hospital? This is the best hospital in Golden Sands! Where else do you want me to go?” said the middle-aged man. “Go to the capital city. That place holds the highest of standards in the medical field,” said Old Rob as he crossed his arms and prepared to walk away. He had never seen such an ailment before. She was fine but remained unconscious.Just as Old Rob turned around, a discontented, disgruntled voice rang in his ears. “Looks like even the Head Physician is nothing.” Old Rob turned around immediately. Link was staring at him in a derisive manner which boiled Old Rob’s blood. “You’re just a guard. Do what you’re supposed to do or I will have Director Rayleigh fire you!” Old Rob blared. His eyes glinted with a spark of discontent.“You’re just another overrated, cheating quack. You’re just the same as your nephew here. Both hacks! Pair of dumbasses!” Link scolded aloud. “What?!” Old Ron’s entire body shook. After so many years of treating patients. he had

Chapter 5 Why Do Flowers Bloom?

“Miss Sullivan? What’s wrong?” asked the middle-aged man in surprise before he quickly examined the condition of his mistress. Her face was as pale as a sheet. Her breathing was so irregular that it stopped once in a while; long enough to seem forever, never to return.Old Rob’s complexion turned dark. He quickly rushed to her side and took her pulse. His expression changed drastically.“She’s been poisoned. She’s in critical condition right now.” Minerva Sullivan’s body had been weak from birth. Her showing elaborate symptoms of being acutely poisoned only drained her life force rapidly. “Where did you buy all this? How dare you poison Miss Sullivan!” cried the middle-aged man as he grabbed James Lindt’s collar. “Impossible! I bought these from a famed restaurant, not just any roadside stall! I’m a frequent patron there myself!” James explained. “Fuck you! Take one and eat them now!” cried the middle-aged man as he grabbed a takeout box and shoved it to James. “I’ll eat

Chapter 6 Adverse Effect of Food Counteraction

“Flowers bloom red… because it's springtime…” said James Lindt while crying. “Hmph. Get out of here,” Link flung his hand. Annoyed, he tossed James Lindt away. He had only done one night cultivating his chi and already, his body was flowing with a faint amount of chi. His strength far surpassed any regular person. If he had cultivated any longer, who knows how much stronger he would be.Old Rob hurried over to support James Lindt. His face was badly swollen, and Old Rob was terrified when he saw it. His face turned red, and in the end, he gritted his teeth and decided to compromise. He said, "Boy, think of this as me begging you. I can write proof showing that you've performed admirably in your internship, and you can go back and submit a report to your school."Old Rob had such power. The personal approval from the Head of Physician carried a lot of weight. To be honest, that would save him a lot of effort and that managed to move him a little. “About Miss Sullivan. Wasn't s

Chapter 7 Yang-Returning Nine Needles

As soon as the second needle pierced her skin, Minerva Sullivan’s entire being shook, as if she was electrocuted. The third needle went next. “Third needle. Blood and Chi revitalization. Fourth needle, muscle and nerve relocation. Fifth Needle, sensory cessation. Sixth needle, suspended organ function. Seventh needle, consciousness shut down. Eighth needle, separation of life and death.” When Link placed the eighth needle, he was already covered in sweat.Old Rob was watching closely, daring not to even blink fearing that he might lose sight of something. Sometimes, he even mimicked Link’s movements. However, a face of confusion etched over his own before he shook his head, clearly not understanding what Link did. Back to Link, when the eighth needle was placed, the ECG machine on the side immediately flatlined. “What’s going on? Link?” Jennifer’s face lost its colour. She grabbed his arms hurriedly. What he was doing was not treatment but a homicide! “Don’t shake me! I cann

Chapter 8 Dirty Texting

“People are so weird these days. Pretending to be sick when they are not and voila, they actually get sick.” Link chuckled when he recalled Minerva Sullivan’s case as he walked home to his school’s dormitory under the moonlight. The student dormitory only cost eight hundred dollars a semester. It was meant for four to stay but the other three were from Golden Sands so Link was the only one occupying the entire dorm. Link was in a difficult situation at that time. He had paid his tuition fees and only had enough to pay half of the amount for his accommodation fees. He had already gone through half of the semester and if he failed to pay the remaining fees for the remaining half-semester, he might be booted out of the dorm. He took a nice bath and decided to meet the faculty officer to change his internship location. He should top up his accommodation fees. He took out his phone and discovered Jennifer Rayleigh had sent him a few texts.[Are you there?][Why are you not replying

Chapter 9 The Former Paramore

With respect to that gold-digger no-good hoe, Link understood it all. It is said that society is capable of shaping one’s behavior. When Mary was still in the suburbs, she was just a little girl that behaved well. Now, she’s so tainted that she was no longer the same person that Link knew. “I’m here to talk to the dean,” Link replied without emotion. “Why is that? Have you finished your internship?” Mary asked suspiciously. One must have the stamp of approval from the Head Physician of the hospital where one accepts the internship. Link should not have anything to do with that as he had only spent a few days in the hospital. How was it possible for him to finish his internship?Zachary Quinlan, who was standing at the side could not help but scoff coldly. “Here I thought who it was, it’s just the big old security guard of Golden Sands Hospital.” The two words, security guard, were enunciated profoundly and it attracted the attention of many students. They were currently in

Chapter 10 Regret

“I’m sorry but, you are…?” said Link as he looked at Thomas Sullivan suspiciously. “I am Minerva Sullivan’s father. I want to thank you for saving my daughter.” If not for Link’s intervention, the worse might have befallen Minerva Sullivan. Instead, Link Lewis had shown up and saved her. Since Link had not asked for anything in return, Thomas Sullivan was left with a desire to meet him. “I see. Miss Sullivan is a naughty girl. Please tell her to not play around pretending to be ill. It is not something she should take lightly,” said Link. Thomas Sullivan smiled. He took out his cheque book and simply wrote down a six digit figure and said, “Doctor Lewis, this is payment as thanks for saving my daughter.” “There’s no need for it. I did not save Miss Sullivan for your reward,” said Link as he declined. “It’s nothing. It is the job of a doctor, after all. Additionally, I am not a doctor. There are no treatment fees to impose here.” Even though he lacked financial funds, he w
