Chapter 3 Pretending to Fall Sick

Author: Daxiao Xie
Only after the text went through did it dawn upon him that he may gone too far. That being said, Link was not the only one to blame. One could say that Jennifer Rayleigh was just too tempting to men.

Her usual icy demeanour and arrogant behaviour would drive away anyone who dared approach her. But now, Link managed had managed to peel off her icy facade and reveal the feisty lady within.

[Uh nuh. No such photo. That said, it’s not like I can take such a photo right now.]

Link was disappointed. She had to be in her office right now, working. It was only natural that she could not take such a photo.

Just as Link was about to send another reply, the sound of an engine roaring was heard from the hospital gate. A screech of tyres skidding to a halt later, a Bentley stopped.

A middle-aged man dressed in a suit hastily got out of the car and opened the rear door. He carried a pale girl from the back seat. The girl looked weak and unenergetic, as if she was no longer breathing. Link fixed his sight on the girl before activating his divine eye. A thorough scan indicated that the girl suffered no illness. She was completely normal, albeit slightly overwhelmed by fatigue.

After he had inherited the All-Seeing Eye, he comprehended the changes it brought to his vision. This divine eye was an incredibly rare ability in the Lewis family, which not only granted him the ability to see through all things but also allowed him to tell whether someone was sick at just one glance.

The middle-aged man carried the girl and hurried to the security post. When he saw someone there, he quickly cried out.

“Guard! Please get a stretcher here now! Our mistress needs immediate medical attention! She’s going to die!”

Link shook his head.

“She’s fine.”

“Impossible! Our mistress has been unconscious for three days! How is she fine?” the middle-aged man shouted back.

“You’re not even a doctor! Call a real doctor here now!”

“I’m a hundred percent sure that she’s just pretending to be sick,” Link said with a straight face.

As soon as he finished talking, someone from behind him blared out with a mocking tone. “Now, where did you come from, o miracle doctor? How could you tell if she’s sick or otherwise with a single glance?”

Link turned around and saw James Lindt. The man was strutting towards him with the ghost of a smile on his face.

Link scoffed. He moved aside nonetheless. Link was but a security guard at that moment. He had no jurisdiction over any patient. Besides, the girl was without any ailment.

“Are you a doctor?” the middle-aged man shouted as soon as he saw James Lindt. “Why are you still daydreaming there?! Help her right now! If anything goes wrong, you will suffer the wrath of Thomas Sullivan!”

“Thomas Sullivan? Do you mean President Sullivan of Sullivan Enterprise?” James hesitated for a moment and asked.

“Is there another Thomas Sullivan in Golden Sands? This is the young mistress of the Sullivan family, Miss Minerva Sullivan!” cried the middle-aged man.

In an instant, James Lindt's expression changed. A shiver ran down his entire body and he quickly responded, “Calm down! I will contact the emergency room immediately. Link, get moving already! Prepare a gurney right now and get Miss Sullivan inside!”

The Sullivan Enterprise ranked third among all the large corporations in Golden Sands. The industries they had under their name were worth billions in stock value, and Golden Sands Hospital was one of their investments.

The situation then warranted James’ worry. If any mishaps took place, he would surely be dismissed from the hospital.

“I said, she’s fine!” Link bellowed louder.

“Who are you to say she’s fine?! Can’t you see that she’s pale? If she’s fine, why would she look like that?” James retorted in an equal volume.

“Guard, even if she is fine, can’t you just send her in for a check-up? Just to be sure?” the middle-aged man said as he glared at Link.

James shouted at Link instead, “Link Lewis, as a member of the security guard of Golden Sands Hospital, it is your duty to bring the patients into the hospital for a check-up.”

A hospital’s security guard had responsibilities that differed from other places. Usually, when the hospital encountered serious cases, the security guards had to help carry those patients inside. That was why they had a gurney ready in their office.

“Alright then. If you insist, I’ll take her in,” Link scoffed. He pulled out the gurney and pushed Minerva Sullivan to the emergency room on the second floor.

After a complete check-up, James was stunned as he read through the medical report.

All of Minerva Sullivan’s vital signs were normal. If he had to nitpick anything about her, it would be her slightly low glucose level. To put in layman terms, not eating for a few days may be a probable cause. She was merely weak because she was starving.

“She’s… actually fine,” James could not help but mumble, “How did that brat know about it?”

“Doctor? How is Miss Sullivan?” said the middle-aged man while sweating.

“She’s… Well… She’s fine,” James said in an incredibly troubled manner.

“Make some bloody sense, will you?! You’re a hack! Miss Sullivan has been unconscious for three days, and you said she’s fine?!” the middle-aged man shouted. He was the butler for the Sullivans. Three days prior, he saw Minerva Sullivan going around in a lively manner, but two days prior, she was suddenly bedridden. No matter how much he tried, she would not wake up.

“I’ll personally attend to her myself.” James Lindt was so afraid there was a mistake in the examination that he checked her again and again for three times, but the results were still the same.

At that point, Link had lost his patience and scoffed coldly. He said, “Actually, it is fairly easy to wake Miss Sullivan up.”

“You’re just a security guard. It’s not your place to speak here,” James Lindt snarled.

“In that case, treat her! You’re the doctor! Do what you must to wake her up! Trash!” Link practically shouted at the top of his lungs. He had enough of him.

“You—You dared call me trash?” James Lindt’s face turned red with anger, and he nearly flew into a rage.

The middle-aged man shoved James Lindt aside and scolded him, “Shut up and move if you’re not going to treat her!”

He then turned to Link and, with utmost respect, said to him, “Security Guard, do you really know how to wake Miss Sullivan up?”

The middle-aged man was willing to try anything because he was desperate. Right now, Minerva Sullivan just refused to wake up, and he did not mind letting this security guard try.

“Sure thing. Get me a cat and some milk,” said Link. He already thought of it a long time ago.

“Cat and milk?” the middle-aged man repeated his words, stunned. “Are you sure it’s a viable treatment?”

At that moment, a series of footsteps came from afar. An old man with a long white beard, dressed in a white coat appeared.

He was the Head Physician of Golden Sands Hospital. Others addressed him as Old Rob. It was said that the man had started learning medicine since he was ten. He had fully mastered Traditional Chinese Medicine, and there was no ailment he could not treat.

“Old Rob! You came at the perfect timing! This brat wants a cat and some milk to treat this patient!” James Lindt immediately called out Link’s action in front of Old Rob.

“Who is he?” Old Rob calmly glanced at Link. He did not seem to have met him before.

“He’s just an intern! He made a mistake and Director Rayleigh has assigned him to guard the door.”

“Intern? A guard?” Old Rob’s face changed instantly. He scolded Link. “Enough of your pranks! Who are you to tend to a patient?! Move!”

Old Rob glared at Link and walked towards Minerva Sullivan’s side to take her pulse.

James Lindt scoffed and instantly stood up straight in a prideful manner.

Everyone in the hospital knew that James Lindt was Old Rob’s nephew. He was the string James pulled to get himself residency in the hospital.

After Old Rob took her pulse, his face expressed confusion. He placed his finger on Minerva Sullivan’s neck and got even more confused. After a short silence, the man stood up straight and shook his head.

“I’m afraid I cannot treat her. Please take her to another hospital.”

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 29 Palm Reading

When he heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom, Link tried to hold his breath and tip-toed over to the bathroom. Over the frosted glass of the bathroom walls emerged a slender silhouette. At the bathroom door hung a pair of stockings; an obvious indication of the person’s sloppiness. A moment later, the silhouette turned around and suddenly turned off the water. “Hmm? I think I left the new bathroom I just bought in the room…” A clear voice was heard and the silhouette in the bathroom moved around. Kachak! And the bathroom door was flung open. Link had not expected the person inside the bathroom to suddenly open the door. Additionally, when the door was flung open, there was a naked girl walking out from the bathroom without reservation. Link’s eyes practically popped out of their sockets. Her beautiful snow-white skin, her slender body figure, and that nosebleed-inducing pair of legs… Link Lewis felt his nose almost burst with blood. At that moment, when t

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 28 Someone Here?

“Mr. Thomas Sullivan himself gave the keys to me. If you don’t believe it, you can make a call to confirm that,” said Link coolly. There were many properties in Jingle’s Peak and they were assets of the Sullivan Enterprise. That was the reason why it was impossible for them to not know who Thomas Sullivan was. “That is the biggest joke I’ve ever heard. How could someone like you know President Sullivan?” Supervisor Garcia said with disdain. The bald manager looked all suspicious. In the end, to make things clear, he decided to call Thomas Sullivan. Not several words later, the manager had a frozen look on his face. He ended the call after repeatedly saying “yes”. A look of respect was immediately worn and he came to Link Lewis like a lackey whilst sweating cold sweat. Trembling and shakily, he said, “Mr. Lewis, President Sullivan has declared the villa is yours. Naturally, you are allowed to change to another if you are unsatisfied with this one.” “Brother-in-law, it’s impossi

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 27 Claiming The Villa

Link laughed when he saw how Sheila got angry and severe. He changed his mind and said, “Fine then. I got bored and came here for sight-seeing. Is that better?” “That’s better. As long as you repent. We are still students, you know?” Sheila scoffed and smiled before she nodded contentedly. Link Lewis rubbed his nose. To think that no one would believe him when he told the truth. “Uhm? Why are you here?” Link tried to initiate a conversation as they walked. “I’m here for my internship. This is my job for my internship. I’m supposed to help Jingle’s Peak Project sell their villas. If I could sell even one of them, I would earn tens of thousands in commission. That being said, I’ve still not managed to sell any…” She turned gloomy as she talked. Even though one could claim a high amount of commission from selling villas, the villas in Jingle’s Peak were something else entirely. No common folk could afford them. Some salespeople could not even manage to sell a single unit aft

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 26 Would You Die If You Didn’t Boast?

Sheila Reinhardt wore a simple floral pattern dress. The sight of her fair skin and beautiful face froze Link up. To be honest, she was too beautiful. When Link sat with her, he would always feel like society’s trash. Someone as dull and drab as he could never have any sort of relationship with her. Hence, when she proactively called out to greet him, Link answered somewhat dubiously. “How coincidence. I’d never thought I would sit on the same bus as you.” “Link Lewis, how is your internship going? I heard that you have submitted your internship report,” said Sheila Reinhardt as she squeezed through the crowd to get closer to him. A faint aromatic fragrance gently came before him and Link’s breathing suddenly became tense. Especially when she accidentally touched his arms. Her smooth, almost porcelain-like skin felt like silk to the touch. Link immediately sensed something off. Sheila Reinhardt had never once initiated a conversation with him. Why would she suddenly start t

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 25 Jennifer’s Thoughts

From the entrance of the seminar and his forcing out, Link Lewis had walked quite a distance. He was, wholeheartedly, following the words of the inheritance. However, he was still helpless when it came to other people’s failure to understand, as well as cold stares. At that moment, Jennifer Rayleigh caught up to him in her car. She looked particularly agitated. She parked her car in front of Link Lewis, lowering her phone. Excitedly, she said, “Link Lewis! That old man was saved! It was because of your medicine!” “Mhm. That’s good,” said Link after hearing the news, feeling a little happy. “Come, get in the car. Mr. Hawking wants you to return. He said he wanted to award the seminar’s first place to you,” said Jennifer happily. She brought Link Lewis to that medical seminar simply to attend it. She would never have expected him to get kicked out of the seminar. Neither did she expect the five doctors calling after her and with utmost respect, inviting him back to receive an awa

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 24 No One Else Deserve The First Place

“Someone, come and set up the Antibiotic I.V infusion!” “Yes, sir.” One of the western medicine practitioners waved his staff over and instantly, an assistant came prepared with the bag of saline and antibiotic readied. With precision and familiarity, the assistant inserted the infusion needle into the old man’s blood vessel. As the fluid dripped and slowly entered the old man’s body, the young man grew anxious. He was afraid that something bad might happen. Not long after the antibiotic fluid entered the old man’s body, the old man’s pale complexion had traces of reddish hue. Not long after that, the old man opened his eyes slowly. It appeared that he was no longer in much pain. The young man could not help but let out a long sigh. He hurried to his father’s side and said, “Father, how are you feeling now?” The old man did not say anything. The four western medicine practitioners smiled and they said, “Young man, your father should be fine now. You can now relax.” “Old m

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 11 La Bohème

“Who was that girl? Who is she to you?” Jennifer Rayleigh asked. When she came out of the main hall, she saw the complex emotions in her eyes. “A previous attachment,” said Link Lewis plainly. He had nothing but disappointment for Mary Macbeth, made evident when he did not even spare her a partin

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 10 Regret

“I’m sorry but, you are…?” said Link as he looked at Thomas Sullivan suspiciously. “I am Minerva Sullivan’s father. I want to thank you for saving my daughter.” If not for Link’s intervention, the worse might have befallen Minerva Sullivan. Instead, Link Lewis had shown up and saved her. Since L

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 9 The Former Paramore

With respect to that gold-digger no-good hoe, Link understood it all. It is said that society is capable of shaping one’s behavior. When Mary was still in the suburbs, she was just a little girl that behaved well. Now, she’s so tainted that she was no longer the same person that Link knew. “I’m he

All-Seeing Doctor   Chapter 8 Dirty Texting

“People are so weird these days. Pretending to be sick when they are not and voila, they actually get sick.” Link chuckled when he recalled Minerva Sullivan’s case as he walked home to his school’s dormitory under the moonlight. The student dormitory only cost eight hundred dollars a semester. I
