Prologue

The world is as silent as if it ended in the night. The sun is still resolutely below the horizon and the street is as dark as some old-school black and white movie.  Crystal's eyes snapped open from a long restlessness. She had fought for too many hours to stay dreaming, and there was nothing left to do but get up. She pulled herself up, turned off the alarm. and with that, she walked into the living room, where she stood beside the window for several minutes. It was still dark. She couldn't remember the last morning, she woke up in the darkness. Behind the bare trees, The street lamps were shimmering the dew-wet road vaguely like the stars in the sky, wrapped with clouds. She didn't think twice before making her way to outside. The cold wasn't biting but it had the slow seeping manner. She didn't bothe

The Incident

Park Mansion The front of the mansion has a water feature with cascading over the top of the wall into a pool in the inner courtyard. The cream coating of the paint of the mansion shined as the sun beat down on a large mansion. A garden was surrounding the mansion. The roof was peaked, slanting down at an angle. The windows had cream colour curtains hanging on the other side of them, drawn so that the sunlight could stream through. The grand hallway was featuring a large curved staircase on the side to the left entrance door. The staircase escorted to the second floor where the main bedrooms are suited. "Where are the maids?" Two maids rushed to upstairs as they heard the Empire group's owner, Richard parker's voice. He was a kind of ruler of this mansion. "Sir." The maids came into his study room and lowered her head. "Where is he? Tell

Unexpected Encounter

After the evening round, Crystal came out of the ward and headed to the elevator. "Hey, Doc."  A smile spread across her face when she heard a familiar voice from behind, strolling towards her. Crystal stopped and turned around "Dr Yejin." Pyo Yejin is my colleague. She is a general surgeon. She stood before her and gave her a warm smile like she always does. "How was your day?" Like always. Crystal chuckled. "Yesterday was like today. Today will be like tomorrow. How was yours?" She pursed her lips as a long sigh escaped her lips. "Not good, So tiring. So many patients today. I still have surgery to attend at 7. You..." "Hi, girl

Past Is Past

The red light outside the operation theatre turned off. Crystals strode out of the operation room with George, her assistant doctor. "After transferring him to the ICU, make sure to check his BP time to time and about breathing, if he needs the breathing tube, don't remove it." She told George, removing the surgical mask from her face. "Call me if..." She paused and stopped removing the mask when someone showed up in front of her. She knew him. He is Rayan's father. He is Richard Parker! "Doctor. How is he? How is my son?" Richard Parker asked her with a sense of worriedness on his face. Taking out a silent breath, She glanced at him straight. "The operation went well. He'll be fine." Then She

Arrogant

Crystal's POV... "Why did you do that?" Alex queried calmly when he stepped out of the ICU with me. "Why did you lie to him?" He turned to me, breaking his hand free from my grip. Looking extremely mad. I rolled my eyes around before I cleared my throat awkwardly. "Um... you know..." "That you are still not over him, right? But you have to win no matter what." Alex cut my words off, plastering a tight smile on his face. "No! I'm..." Before I could protest, the door of the elevator opened and he stepped into it. "You are hopeless." He sighed, pressing a button and the door closed in front of me. "Aish, you little brat." I cursed underneath my breath and pushed the call button. Am I really hopeless? Have I done something nonsense? No, I didn't. Because I know Rayan Parker. I know how arrogant he is. The first meeting was very solid proof. -

"Somin!"
