“What else can she do besides endure it? Serves her right for being so shameless and not calling off the engagement despite it being clear that Young Master Ford doesn’t like her!”

Two girls were exchanging mocking remarks, deliberately wanting to irritate Joelle.

Joelle simply curled her lips into an ambiguous smile, glanced at them, and uttered a simple question that sent the girls shivering in fear.

“Are you looking for a beating?”

Both girls sucked in their breaths out of terror. They knew how serious Joelle was from her previous direct confrontation against their classmates’ pranks, so they stomped their feet in annoyance and sheepishly ran away. They couldn’t handle Joelle’s wrath, but they could hide from her.

Georgia, on the other hand, put on a sorrowful expression when she heard such a remark.

“Jo, I didn’t do it on purpose. It’s just that I’m injured, so Walter is taking care of me, that’s all. Please don’t overthink it.”

Joelle’s hand froze in the middle of writing and she laughed out loud suddenly.

“Wow, I’ve seen a lot of drama queens, but you’re the first whom I think deserves an Oscar. Why do you overly indulge in your extortion?”

She was so blunt and straightforward that a layer of mist appeared over Georgia’s eyes instantly. She turned to Walter with those helpless eyes, filled with grievances and sorrow.

Walter frowned and said instantly, “That’s enough! Joelle Nance, are you even listening to yourself? The accident happened when Ginny was on her way to rescue you. Don’t you think it’s a little too harsh and cold-blooded to say that to her?”

Joelle smirked, followed by a series of loud laughs as if she had heard the best joke of the year. She was laughing so hard that her tears flowed out of her eyes.

Yes, the news of her kidnapping had spread like wildfire among the society, but for the sake of their family’s reputation, Simon didn’t reveal to the public that Victor was the mastermind behind her kidnapping.

As for Georgia, her accident and injury were interpreted as a heroic act since she was involved in the accident on the way to look for her, regardless of the truth.

Slowly, Joelle composed herself from her laughter. She didn’t explain anything, she was reluctant to do so anyway.
