Chapter 3 – Eclipse of the Heart: Part 1

Tonight, is the night Athena and Wayne will make the same wish, their hearts are connected. The fates designed; the moon aligned. The lives of these fated mates are about to change; their paths are about to cross. Wayne’s P.O.V

I transform into my midnight black wolf, my fangs elongate, and my claws are out. I’m down on all fours and I know my eyes are red I feel Striker smile, he hasn’t been out in a while we look up and howl at the blood moon. We both ask the moon goddess for one thing “this year please bless us with the presence of our gorgeous mate. We need her, I need her. Wherever she is I am willing to go to the ends of the earth to find my love, Oh moon goddess. Please” I didn’t notice at first nor did I feel it, but Striker was howling at the moon in pain and despair, we were howling, calling for our mate.

Athena’s P.O.V

I feel Nilsa connect with me, our eyes glowing gold. I hear her wish for a mate, I ask the moon goddess to not bring him to me. I do not want to have to reject him. I know I will love him on first scent and then sight. “I hope you can hear me! Please don’t bring him to me. Don’t complicate my life anymore. I know I need him; I know I already love him, but he won’t love me… I know he will reject me, and I don’t want to feel my heart break and my wolf die. If you bring him to me, I will reject him. I don’t care what happens!” I hear Nilsa whimper as she hears my prayer. “What if he loves us more than anything in this universe Athena? You won’t know because you won’t give him a chance”. I feel the earth beneath me vibrate and Nilsa lifts our head to the moon and lets out the most heart-breaking howl.

One Week Later

Athena’s P.O.V

I’m stuck in the office and it’s a little colder than usual, I am super bored since my mom is away on a business trip and my father is well being an asshole. Since my mom hasn’t given me the heads up on when I will assume her position most of my life has been put on hold and all she talks about is me going and exploring the world. Don’t get me wrong, I want to and will just not at this moment, scrolling through Instagram when a get a private message notification. I decide to open and read it, after a few minutes, I think of chatting I stalk the page and I am blown away. Not only is he devilishly handsome he is also Alpha Wayne Thunders! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! We are currently trying to form an alliance with the Red moon pack and here I am like a total asshole flirting with their soon-to-be Alpha! His not even my mate, I should not be enjoying this, then again, he is so damn gorgeous and as far as I know he doesn’t have a mate yet either. I feel Nilsa smile in my head, “What is it Nilsa” she ignores me. The after a while she pipes up “You’ll find out soon darling” and blocks me out before I can even question further. I shrug it off and log of Instagram after giving him my number. I can’t be too easy you know. Besides it will just be casual flirting and then that’s it, what could possibly go wrong?
