Chapter 4 – Eclipse of the Heart: Part 2

Wayne’s P.O.V

I get home after a long damn day; it’s been a while since I’ve checked my social media. I scroll onto Instagram and come across a girl… correction more like a beautiful young lady now on my Instagram suggestions. I decide to follow, I know full well who she is and that our packs are in the process of forming an alliance, some casual flirting would not hurt, My my… Athena Breeze the girl I would love to be mine. Well I am not mated and nor is she. Let us see what happens. Besides, I do not think anything else will happen, the future Alpha pf the Ocean moon pack. I feel Striker snicker in my head and cut off our connection, before I knew it, I had her number and we were away texting like our lives depended on it! Damn she is gorgeous and very smart, though that voice notes of hers… She seems to have a very deep and commanding voice for such a tiny lady.

I went and had dinner and started to discuss the plans for the party my parents want to throw and invite the members of the ocean moon pack along with their Alpha’s and their daughters. I smile at the thought that Athena will be here at this party and that will really get it started “This should be fun” My father looks at me “What was that son?” I sit upright and notice my mother mirroring the same confused and shocked look on my fathers face and I brush it off with repeating the same remark but more sarcastically. I bid my parents goodnight and text Athena the same. Well the weeks leading up to my party should be quite interesting.

And interesting it would be, more than I could handle.

Athena’s P.O.V

I finish the day chatting away with Wayne. Seems almost to good to be true that men like him even still exist. We both stop texting to go and eat dinner with our families. I help tidy up the kitchen and dinning room. We gather in the lounge and my mom hangs up and informs us that in two weeks we will be attending the party that the Red moon pack will be holding in honor of Wayne Thunders taking over the Alpha position of the pack. My heart picks up speed and my hands are clammy. “Do we have to attend?” I pipe up, my mother looks confused, I am always keen to dress up and attend a party, my social skills are pretty good. “Yes, we have to Athena, this will also give us a chance to decide a date with Wayne on when to meet and finalize the alliance of our packs.”

I raise my eyebrow at my mom, “You guys do know that once he finds his mate it will change everything”. “well for now he isn’t mated and with you wanting to travel abroad for a few years and not taking over the pack immediately, they will need protection and the Red moon pack is one of the strongest.” I agree with your mother, we will need a strong alliance with them as the rogues grow stronger and we are the only two packs in the province”. I roll my eyes “Oh I was starting to wonder when you will say something about my remark.” I get up and leave after bidding them goodnight. I reply to Wayne’s text. I have two weeks to figure out how to dress up and meet him. Hopefully I don’t have to attend because I’ll have my confirmation letter and be gone. I need to be away from the pack life for a while.
