Chapter 7 – Mate Revealed

Athena’s P.O.V

The time was approaching fast, my heart was beating faster, my palms sweaty, was I ready to see the man behind the mask? Was I ready to settle down? I had so many questions running through my head, I downed one glass of champagne after another. You see werewolves do not get drunk ever, however we have special “suppliers” to say the least that supply us with what we need for a party or any social event. So, by the fourth glass I was feeling like I could take on the world. I noticed my parents leaving what seemed to be a study with Alpha Raymond Thunders and his son the future Alpha Wayne Thunders, I take a closer look and my eyes feel like they are about to pop out their sockets. Its HIM!!! Wayne is my fated mate!? I shake it off, it is probably the champagne that’s doing this to me. I look again and the lights go dim before I can get another look. I shrug it off and head to the back of the great hall, I see the spotlight and a powerful voice of Alpha Raymond Boom on the microphone, every wolf bowed in submission. You see the Thunders are kind of like royalty in our world. They are the Alpha of all Alpha’s. We rise as he clears his throat “Tonight, we celebrate the coronation of a new Alpha. My son, Wayne Thunders” an applause breaks out and I grab another glass of champagne as the time draws closer to see the man in the mask. I look to the stage and his face is revealed, it is the Devil Himself… Wayne Thunders, my fated mate!! FUCKING HELL!!

Wayne’s P.O.V

I step into the spotlight, something I rather hate and start to speak “Tonight I am grateful for the response received from the news of my coronation, the blessings of the elders and my parenst and we will only grow in strength and soon two packs will merge as one, we not only celebrate the dawn of new leadership with the old school teachings of my father, but also the miracle that I have finally found my mate and your Luna!” Cheers break out and everyone applauds waiting for her to appear on the stage by my side, the spotlight shines around the room and I do not see my Cinderella in Red anywhere. I brush it off and laugh “I guess she is a little shy, everyone please enjoy the rest of the party!” I get of the stage, My Beta Chris at my side immediately knowing how I feigned my calmness. I force Striker to cool down cause our temper will wreak havoc. I look at Chris, my words deadly slow “Find Her”. I walk towards my parents who are speaking to the Alpha’s of the Ocean moon pack, our newest ally. I notice that their daughter is not present at the function nor was she at the meeting, I walk towards them and start chatting casually. “Mrs Breeze, I did not notice your daughter enter with you, is she not present at the ball or is she busy with some male?”. Mrs Breeze looks stunned by my facial expression and tone of voice when I asked this question, she replies “Wayne, I think you need to calm down. My daughter was here and was dancing with a man, but I do not know why she left, she only said she was feeling unwell and would be returning home. I was just bidding farewell to your parents as we are leaving to make sure she is fine”. I clear my throat and my temper eases at the fact that Athena was at home because she was felling unwell “I am sorry Alpha Breeze; I meant no disrespect. If you do not mind me asking, what was your daughter wearing?” “She was wearing a red dress” her husband sates. I then figure it out and notice that there was only one she-wolf wearing a red dress tonight and she is no longer here. I smirk and realise that sweet little Athena was not sick at all, she was shaken by the fact that I am her mate. I smirk “Alpha’s I think I will be joining you for dinner tomorrow, after all only then can I take your daughter and my mate and make her mine rightfully”.  Both my parents and her parents look at me like their eyes were going to pop out their sockets.

Athena’s P.O.V

The minute he took his mask off, I had to bolt from there. How could the moon goddess pair me with that obnoxious playboy! I get in the car and leave, my phone rings a few times and it is the call I have been waiting for, I pick up and nervously speak… I clear my throat “Athena speaking, good evening” the person on the other side is quiet for a while and then speaks up “Good evening Miss Athena, I hope you are well. This is a call to inform you that you are now an employee of Sky Finesse. Your flight details have been emailed to you. We look forward to receiving you at the airport”. I looked up at the stage and with the mixed emotion of love and disgust I left to start my new adventure a life away from the pack. Just until I feel like I have lived a bit. I pack a bag and leave a note on the fridge for my parents to read. I cannot and will not be the mate of that barbaric wolf Wayne Thunders. I have heard so much about him and I cannot help but wonder if it was all just rumours… But I saw how he behaved with the other she-wolves before he laid eyes on me. I saw how he was all over that brunette. Sicko!

I look at the time and order my uber and take a last look at my home and leave. I board my flight and off I go to Saudi. I need to speak to the Desert Stone pack once I get a break in Saudi. I need them to help me break this bond Wayne moves on and can buy his baby making she-wolf. I am much more than an heir popper.
