Chapter 21

To my luck, my locker opened swiftly after punching in the combination for the lock. I stared blankly at the books in front of me, seeing nothing but blur. My thoughts were at a constant stir; everything occurred in my mind was clouded up by my negative mindset.                    I pushed my hair behind me ear and grabbed my Pre-Calculus book. I huffed knowing that I possibly have to sit next to Landon again. At this point, I wish I had never gave Landon the benefit of the doubt. I wish I could've turned back time; accept Colton's confession, and deny Landon's apology. A bad boy can never change.                    "You can just skip class," Colton disrupts my thought as we both stare at my workbook. We both knew what class I have, and who was in that class. Colton managed to piece together that Landon and I had a miscommunication; however I

Chapter 22

I shook my head at her excitement and offered a reassuring smile, "It's fine, Bella. It's just Colton." Bella shrugs, picking up a piece of grape and popping it into her mouth I looked down at my lunch and played with the mash potatoes. - - - I brushed my fingers through my curls, before putting it up in a high ponytail. It's half passed nine and Colton decided earlier that he wanted to watch the newest scary movie. Jokes on him I love scary movies. I smiled at the thought as I looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't bother throwing on anymore makeup other than mascara. Shrugging at my reflection, I grabbed my back and swung it across my body, opening the bedroom door. "Where are you going?" I heard Austin ask from his bedroom. "To the movies!" I called out and rushed down the stairs. Very quickly afterwards, Austin sprinted down the stairs and leaned his wh

Chapter 24

"Are you serious, Aubrey?" Bella warns me in her motherly tone as she crosses her arms, "Again?"                    I nodded slowly in regret.                    "You remember what happened to you the last time you gave him a chance?" Bella scowls, tapping her foot against the white marble floor. I was sitting on one of the chairs in the school lounge, looking up at her with my sketchbook resting on my lap.                    "Yeah, but," I shrugged and talked in a slightly high-pitched voice, "I still want to know what all of that was about?" I questionably answered, looking like a complete fool.                    Bella rolls her eyes, and sits down on the arm rest of my chair, "Alright, fine. But this

Chapter 25

Isaiah, dressed in his red soccer uniform was running back and forth on the field; screaming at the his teammates in effort to keep up their connections. Each players on the field were extremely tall and fit; very good stamina as they were able to run almost miles in the grass.                          I clenched my fist as I watched one of our players pass the ball around near the goal.                          "May I sit here?" a voice asked me. Without worrying too much about it, I nodded with my eyes kept on the field. I bit my lower lip as Isaiah stole the ball without effort; and carelessly kicked the ball into the net. A big smile was plastered on my face as I clapped in excitement.                          I know him!&nbs

Chapter 26

Landon's hair was effortlessly pushed upward, as he keeps his eyes on the road. Déjà vu flashes back into my head as I remember about the day we went out for dinner. I couldn't help but smile at the heartfelt stories he's shared with me.                    I couldn't confirm that he was telling the truth, but what was there to lie about? I turned my attention back towards the road, leading us towards an outdoor mall. I rose an eyebrow and looked at him, making a face, "We're going shopping?" I asked.                    "I kind of have to make a run for something. But there is this one place I wanted to show you," he casually states.                    "What is this, a date?" I attacked him, looking at him as if I wasn't interested in his daily routines.

Chapter 27

Landon swings the shopping bag on his side, walking next to me as we exit the mall. We were both holding ice cream cones; he had vanilla, I had strawberry.                          I licked the ice cream and savored the taste like a child. A second ago I was heated, for a bunch of reasons that is; now I was enjoying the time of my life. I smiled at the ice cream as I took another big lick. A hum escaped my lips as Landon couldn't help but release a chuckle.                          "Who was that guy?" I randomly asked him, remembering about the incident a few while back.                          "Who?" he asks innocently, raising an eyebrow oblivious of who I was referring my question towards.        &

Chapter 28

With my body wrapped in the blanket and his arm around my shoulder, the breeze still caught up to my skin, sending chills down my spine. Despite the beautiful scenery that we're looking at, the chilly breeze from the hills didn't make the sit anymore peaceful. I soon found myself shivering, as Landon was sitting as if the cold didn't have any little affect his icy cold persona.                          Without debation, I dragged my frozen hands towards my lips, blowing warm air into it attempting to bring some heat into my limbs. I felt Landon taking his arm off my shoulder, and soon enough grabbed my hands.                          It was too cold to fight back, and by this time, I started to feel comfortable with Landon's touch. His presence didn't seem to bother me anymore, in fact I was more joyful of his com

Chapter 29

Bringing my hands to my lips, I stared at the paper in front of me and couldn't help but feel my lips tremble. My eyebrows rose in sadness as my body refuses to move. I swallowed as I kept my eyes on the white sheet on the dining table.                          It was already pass midnight, but I managed to find a slip of paper that was peaking out of my father's work file. I bit my upper lip, attempting to not think of all the possible odds that would affect my relationship at school.                          Charles Carthy: (916) 555-8923                          I stared at the last name in fright, my fist tightened as all that occurred into my mind was the familiar last name.            &

Chapter 30

We stayed in that room for about fifteen minutes after the incident, none of us bothered to speak up after the corruption. Landon held the paper between his fingers, his lips calmly pressed against each other while his eyes tracks down ever single word on the document. The only thing that was heard through the silence were each of our breaths.                          I was now leaning against the wall almost comfortably, while Landon maintains his position in front of me. His hand was resting on the wall next to my head while his other hand held the paper carefully between us; I didn't feel trapped under his control. His attention was fully kept onto the paper, and my attention was fully kept onto him.                          My eyes trailed from his messy dark hair, to his diamond blue eyes. His face was still
