His Ego

We were sitting facing each other on the floor of my garage. His body was sat in the middle of my legs, as they were propped up against his sides. One of his hand was holding on to my ankle, while the other was holding the rest of his body up. His legs were sprawled out for me to sit in between. A smile had crept onto Landon's face. My lips tugged upwards as I uncontrollably smile at his attractiveness. He removed his hand from my ankle and started fiddling with his gold necklace, grabbing the cross and tugging it in a semi-circle. I watched him as my hands were casually resting in front of me. It had been about five minutes since we were in this position.

A week passes by and everything that I've wished for in the beginning of the season seemed to fulfill itself. The debt was quickly removed from our family's history, and my dad received a promotion at work. Our family was still as happy as we were when things had hit rock bottom. "Little," Austin spoke up, shoving me slightly as I was sitting at the kitchen table. Furrowing my eyebrows together, I leaned towards the canvas as I squinted my eyes at my painting. Trying to be careful as possible, I dabbed the thin paintbrush onto the board, focusing on the line as much as possible. To my luck, I felt a hand on the back of my head. Before I could react, the upper half of my body was pushed, knocking myself off of the stool and onto my painting. A loud gasp escaped from my lips as I watched my artwork in front of my knocking down. The bully stood there and was shocked too. I turned over slowly towards Landon and glared at him. My fists clenched as I felt a strong sense of annoyance rush up my body. &

I held the check in both of my hands, staring down at the paper in awe from all the zeros scribbled into the box. I couldn't imagine happiness after receiving this piece of paper that could hold my whole family's fortune. A small smile was swept across my lips before I opened the sketchbook, sticking the check in the middle of my two favorite sketches before shoving it into my book stand. I breathed out in relief before backing away from the bookshelf, staring at it in awe. I can't believe it.
