Chapter 1633

After they left the airport, Charlie drove Claire’s BMW and sent Loreen back to the Shangri-La first.

On the way back, Claire wanted to invite Loreen to stay in their villa again. However, Loreen refused to do so.

Although Loreen would be able to get closer to Charlie if she stayed in the villa at Thompson First, she was afraid of Elaine and Jacob. Both of them were really scary and could change a person’s view when they started fighting with one another. It was really awkward to sight such a scene from the standpoint of a bystander.

Besides that, Loreen always felt as though there was still a ticking time bomb in the Wilson family.

That time bomb was none other than Jacob’s first love, Matilda.

Elaine did not know anything about Matilda, and yet she could already have such intense fights and arguments with Jacob. If she found out about her, then there would certainly be even more drama at their house.

Therefore, she felt that she should not stay in the villa at Thompson First so that she would not have to feel so awkward. It would be nice for her to stay at Shangri-La.

Although it was a little lonely to stay at the hotel by herself, she would still have absolute freedom without any movement restraint. Even if her room was in a mess, she could just leave the hotel room in the morning and return to a clean and spotless room later at night.

So, she was not willing to go back to the villa at Thompson First anymore.

After sending Loreen home, Charlie and Claire headed home together. Claire asked with concern, “Charlie, have you already checked out and dealt with the Feng Shui matters in Miss Golding’s house?”

“Yes.” Charlie smiled as he said, “Their whole family was very satisfied and gave a five-star rating.”

Feeling relieved, Claire said, “It is great that they are satisfied with your services. That way, we can also feel a little more relieved to take their money then.”

After that, she asked Charlie again, “You bought so many things from Hermes. You must have spent a lot of money there, right?”

Charlie replied truthfully, “I spent about one million dollars there.”

“Ahh? One million dollars?” Claire felt a little dizzy when she heard the figure and she exclaimed, “Why are you willing to spend so much money…you spent one million dollars just to buy some luxury goods…our family’s living expenses for a whole year don’t even amount to one million dollars…”

Charlie smiled as he said, “If it is a luxury good, it is only natural that it would cost more money then.”

With that, Charlie pulled the car over as he parked at the parking space by roadside. After that, he took out a Hermes limited edition crocodile leather handbag that he had bought for Claire from the empty back seat. He handed it over to Claire before he smiled and said, “Open it and have a look!”

Claire unwrapped the package in her hands carefully. When she saw the beautifully made bag, she could not help but exclaim, “The craftsmanship of this bag is really amazing…and the leather quality is impeccable. It must be very expensive, right?”

Charlie replied, “This bag is a little more expensive and it costs more than half a million dollars…”

“Oh my god…” Claire replied nervously, “A bag that costs more than half a million dollars? This is too expensive!”

Charlie smiled as he said, “Wife, Hermes’ limited-edition items sold at Hermes are not cheap. However, you should not think that it is very expensive because Hermes limited-editions bags are very valuable and it is also possible for it to increase in value. If these kinds of bags are resold, it could be sold for at least six to seven hundred thousand dollars or at even higher prices.”

Seemingly perturbed, Claire said, “But this bag is simply too expensive. I can’t bear to use it at all! Moreover, how can someone of my status possibly use such an expensive bag? Why don’t you resell it then?”

Charlie hurriedly said, “How can we do that? This is the gift that I specially picked for you. How can you sell it?”

After that, Charlie said, “Wife, you can use this bag confidently. If it is worn out, we can just buy a new one then. Your husband is now a very reputable Feng Shui master in the eyes of many wealthy and influential figures. As my wife, isn’t it normal for you to be using a bag that costs five hundred thousand dollars? If you do not use it, what would people think of me then? People might say that I am stingy! When I am earning so much money, I can’t even afford to buy a better and nicer bag for my own wife!”

When Claire saw Charlie being so insistent, and since she felt that there was some rationale to what he had just said, she sighed and said gratefully, “Husband, I will listen to you then. Thank you…”

Charlie smiled and said, “Why are you being so polite with your own husband?”
