"Nate, I have to ..." I put my free hand on his, which is still on my forearm, "Basic rights are waiting for me and I hope I'm not a total loser too."

"Cheer up Ana." He replies encouragingly and I start looking for the lecture hall. In fact, I am relieved to see that I can really keep up with the level in this subject, and I go into the lunch break with a somewhat relaxed structure.

I withdraw to a quiet corner with a salad and read up on accounting law.

My first lecture at Dexter, if possible, I don't want to embarrass myself.

Once again I go looking for one of the lecture halls, hard to believe, this university is much smaller than the one in LA but I can't remember having to change lecture rooms for every lecture there. Finally I find him and sit down in the back row and open my laptop.

Although I haven't seen Dexter in years, I recognize him immediately. He looks good, his black hair has already turned a lot of gray, but that suits him. He is in his late 30s and when I see how some of my fellow students adore him, I have doubts whether they are even here to study or just turn on every male object ...

Because these are the same women who have already thrown themselves at Nate in European law and I decide not to like them.

Dexter first checks the presence and I nervously chew on the end of my pencil.

"Coleman, Anastasia." He says and I look up.

"Here." I say and our eyes meet, he gives me a short nod and then goes through the list.

Accounting law seems to be one of the subjects in which I really have a clear view and I cannot say how happy I am about it.

“Anastasia? Will you come for a moment, please? ”Dexter calls me after the lecture and I take my folder under my arm and go to his teacher's desk.

"Prof. Hamilton. What can I do for you? ”I look at him, his dark green eyes sparkling amused for a brief moment.

"You are doing well in my course, but I know from Prof. Williams that European law is not one of your strengths." He begins and the lecture hall slowly but surely empties behind me.

"I know ..." I chew my lower lip.

"What do you want to do?" He looks at me carefully.

“Would you maybe have the opportunity to help me?” I take a deep breath, it's difficult for me to ask for help, but I just don't want to repeat this semester again.

“Sure, Ana, I'll pick you up tomorrow evening. We have a nice meal and then see how far you are. What do you think of that? ”He nods to me and I reply hesitantly.

Always combining the useful ...

So he and Grace have a nice view of me.

“Good, I'll be there at 6pm. Until then Ana. ”He skips my sigh and with that I step into the hallway, which has emptied itself amazingly as if by magic.

Well, it's Friday afternoon and everyone wants to leave as soon as possible, but if anything would make this picture perfect, it would be a tuft of dry grass rolling through the corridor.

I shake my head at my vivid imagination and step into the rain of Dublin.

Half an hour later I arrive at the dormitory soaked and decide that I have to get a car. Trudging halfway through Dublin in the weather is only half as fun as it might sound. I'll discuss this with Grace and Dexter tomorrow evening, I have no idea what my driver's license is like and a car has to be insured, so I've never had anything to do with that.

The dormitory is deserted, most of them are with their families, friends or somewhere else, just not here.

But I have nothing here in Dublin, I will probably have to get used to having the dormitory or at least the top floor to myself on the weekends.

First I take a closer look at the floor and find a common room with a TV, in front of which I relax in the evening after a small dinner. Maybe it's a good thing that I have the weekends to myself ...

After all, I'm supposed to stay away from everything that distracts me.

Imposed isolation ...

On Saturday I sleep almost until noon, everything that happened during the week has exhausted me. After a strong coffee, I take my laptop and sit down on the bed with it. I look again at my Facebook page and have to find sobering that I still don't miss me, at least one of my so-called friends ... not even a single one and that's pretty bitter.

Disappointed, I take my textbook on European law out of my pocket and start highlighting everything that seems important to me. The next time I look at my watch I'm amazed, Dexter wants to be here in 30 minutes and I'm still wearing my sweatpants and my top. I change quickly, stuff my books in my backpack, and take the elevator down. In fact, there are three other students here besides me and greet me with a nod as I step past them into the, what a surprise, Irish rain.
