He groaned in pain.

I looked back at him. I wanted to make sure he wasn’t really injured.

What am I doing? He nearly raped me! It was a big mistake, coming here.

Sarah, are you really this stupid? If you get involved with this man again, you\'ll die.

“Marcus Mo, I don\'t love you anymore.” I looked down at him as he cruched on the ground. “I stopped loving you three years ago, I didn\'t love any more.”

I wasn’t saying it to him, I was saying it to myself. gave a wry smile and ran away from the hotel.

Back home, Tom is watching cartoons with Joy. Outside, Tom is a vigorous businessman, but to Joy and me, he is always as tender and loving.

I learned that he was in love with me three years ago. He accompanied me wherever I wanted to go, and was always kind and jolly. He was never mean to me and Joy, it was almost too good to be true. But it was this heavy love that made my heart ache like a needle every time I see him.

\"You\'re back.\" Tom turned his head and smiles at me gently.

Tom wheeled himself towards me. Over the past three years, he has seen so many doctors in the US and elsewhere for treatment, but his legs have not improved.

His eyes gently fell on my ragged clothes. A pained look flashed in his eyes, but he didn\'t ask. He turned to Joy and said, \"Joy, Mom is back. Let\'s go to dinner together.\"

\"Joy likes to have dinner with her parents,\" Tom winked.

“Dad!” Joy said happily.

Tom and I have never told her about her biological father. I chose to marry Tom.

Tom returned to the United States early the next morning for an emergency meeting. I saw him off early. While making breakfast for Joy, I vaguely heard something outside.

Through the eyehole, I saw that the door opposite our unit was open and people from the moving company were moving things inside. The furniture seemed very expensive, so it must have been very costly to move them all in like that. I wondered who our new neighbor was.

Although it\'s a new neighbor, I\'m not so curious as to say hello. I promised Tom that I would go back to the United States after half a month, whether I was able to recover the necklace or not. So it\'s not necessary to have a good relationship with your new neighbors.

I should have checked who it was before opening the door. How could it be Marcus Mo? How did he come here? Did he see Joy? He must have thought, like Maureen did, that I had already aborted the child, so in any case, I couldn\'t let him find out about her existence. I didn\'t protect my parents well, and they came to a terrible end, but I swore I’d protect Joy with everything I have.

\"Sarah, open the door.\"

The man\'s deep voice came through the door. I could feel his anger. Who is he anyway, to treat me like this? Yesterday, I kicked him in the balls. Today, I wanted to kick his ass.

\"Leave me alone!\" I leaned back against the door and said firmly, making a silent gesture to Joy.

\"Don\'t you want that necklace?\"
