Chapter 308 That Man Seemed to Come from Hell

It was already 11 pm by the time she got back to the apartment.

Jiang Nan's complexion looked colder than usual. When they were home, he immediately entered his room and never came out again.

Gu Anran felt slightly guilty about it. She went back to her room, showered, and then looked at the clock on the wall. It was almost midnight, and she had no idea what Jiang Nan was up to.

She just wanted to tell him that she did not put her guard up with him, but things were too complicated for her to bring it up. Yang Yi would know because Yang Yi had been there. She would not have brought up Yang Yi's name if that were not the case.

When the clock struck 12, she walked out of her room to get some water. She used that as an excuse to walk a couple of steps closer to Jiang Nan's room.

She heard some voices in the room. Was he on the phone with someone? The door was not closed tightly, so some light escaped from the room.

She did not mean to eavesdrop, but she thought she heard her name. Who was he talking to? Did it have something to do with her?

Gu Anran took two steps forward and heard Jiang Nan's voice again. "The war over there is too chaotic... Dangerous... When will you return?"

Gu Anran shook her head, and she accidentally hit it on the door. The voice inside the room stopped talking. With a swoosh, the door swung open, and Jiang Nan's somber face appeared before her.

Gu Anran had no time to explain why she eavesdropped. She grabbed Jiang Nan's wrist with her trembling hand.

"He... He's fake, isn't he? He's...actually at Aryastan, isn't he?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Jiang Nan looked at her blankly.

Gu Anran bit her lip, and her hands were cold with sweat.

"Jiang Nan, don't help him to hide things from me! The Eldest Young Master Mu currently at the Mu's mansion is fake, right? He's at Aryastan, isn't he?"

However, it was wartime there, and armed conflict was rampant. It was incredibly dangerous! What did he want to do?

"You think too much. Go back and rest." Jiang Nan pulled her wrist and tried to drag her to her room.

"Jiang Nan, if you don't tell me the truth, I will go to Aryastan to find him myself!"

Gu Anran did not want to listen to him anymore. She went back to her room, grabbed her keys, and then went out. Her passport and all her other documents were still in her apartment. She was only supposed to stay there for a few days.

Jiang Nan knew what she wanted to do, so before she could go out, he chased after her. He grasped her wrist and pulled her back.

"You're not allowed to go! Mu Zhanbei is in Beiling, you saw it for yourself!"

"I didn't see it with my own eyes..." The momentum dislodged Gu Anran from her center of gravity. She groaned as she crashed against the wall.

She felt slightly uncomfortable, and so she covered her belly instinctively.

Jiang Nan frowned and stared at her pained expression. "Does your stomach hurt?" She seemed to be in a lot of pain.

Gu Anran was speechless as she was in extreme pain. Her face paled, and her hands trembled.

Jiang Nan panicked. He held her in her arms, and anxiously said, "I'll bring you to the hospital!"

"No ..." She wanted to push him away, but she did not have any strength left.

She did not want to go to the hospital. She wanted to go to Aryastan! In her past life, Eldest Young Master Mu nearly died in Aryastan. Everything happened so differently from her past life, but he still went to Aryastan.

She was terrified. She really was scared. What if something were to happen to Mu Zhanbei...

"I want...to find him."

There was a sudden pain in her lower abdomen. Her breathing was erratic, and her body went limp. Then she collapsed.

"Ranran!" Jiang Nan picked her up only to discover that her eyes were closed and she had fainted.

He did not want to delay any longer. He carried her out of the door and to the parking lot immediately. How could a simple period make her collapse? Why would her stomach hurt so badly? He had looked it up on the Internet. If it were just period pain, she would not have fainted from it. Was it because she was too anxious?

When they arrived at the hospital, it was already slightly past one in the morning. Jiang Nan was dumbfounded when the doctor told her their diagnosis.

He held his mobile phone and attempted to dial a number, but his fingers shook tremendously. With his fingertip less than a millimeter away from the screen, he was still reluctant to press on it.

He was alone at the entrance to the emergency room. All of a sudden, he finally realized that there was something he feared. He was terrified that she had an accident, and he was even more afraid if something were to happen to her stomach. He was very, very scared, indeed!

After what seemed like a long time, he finally made up his mind and dialed the number.

"What's the matter?" A low, hoarse, and manly voice came from the other end of the call.

Jiang Nan pursed his lower lip and replied in a solemn voice, "She...is pregnant. There's a problem with the baby, and the doctor is trying to help her, but the baby...might not make it."

Gu Anran was unconscious for the rest of the night. She did not even wake up even though it was already ten in the morning.

When a tall figure appeared in the hospital, it surprised everyone there. His whole body was dusty and covered in dirt. The dark spots on his clothes were clearly dried bloodstains. His face was pale, and he looked like he had lost a lot of blood.

There were still wet blood stains on his black shirt, and blood oozed from open wounds. He was in terrible shape. Even though his face was still so handsome that no one could look away, those bloodstains made for a terrifying sight.

The nurses looked at each other, and they were all stunned. Handsome! He was really attractive.

However, the bloodstains that covered his entire body made him look colder than usual. Murderous, even.

Jiang Nan did not expect to see him in such a miserable state. If he knew he looked like that, he would probably not disturbed him.

Even so, Gu Anran was in a critical condition. If he did not tell the man to come home, he would probably regret it if something terrible were to happen.
