Chapter 14

Carter Zahn’s expression paled as he was yelled at loudly; spit flew all over his face.

Holy sh*t, which God had he provoked?

Was Bella Summer's father truly that powerful?

Not only was Carter afraid, but Jenny Lewis and Miss Wallace were as well. They each stared at James Murphy, momentarily baffled.

When they finally returned to their senses, Carter tried to explain while stuttering, “Secretary… Secretary Cabell, it… it was the student’s parent that hit our teacher… so I-”

“Shut up!”

Julian Cabell shoved Carter aggressively and shouted at him, “If you want to keep your job, you had better apologize to her parents sincerely and take care of the matter.

“Otherwise, I’ll do as my superior says and remove you from your position. Now, get lost!”

Julian Cabell was furious. He had received a sudden call from his superior and was given a cruel tongue-lashing too. He was told that if the matter was not resolved properly, he could forget about ever getting promoted. Additionally, he might not even be allowed to keep his job.

That was why Julian Cabell, who had always been prudent at handling matters, had lost his temper. He knew that Carter had offended a very important person.

Initially, Carter felt dissatisfied. However, when he heard Julian Cabell’s words, he was immediately scared out of his wits.

It had taken him sixteen years to get his position!

Julian Cabell had said in front of so many people that he wanted Carter to stop working. D*amn, in Carter’s eyes, Julian Cabell was a bigwig which he could never afford to offend. Nevertheless, he was not expecting Julian Cabell’s superior, his real boss, to speak out. All of it just to deal with a little headmaster like him?

"Yes, yes. I've learned my lesson. The fault of the matter lies entirely on me."

Carter’s legs trembled as he turned to look at James who was smiling in amusement.

Although James had not said a word, he had made a call just now. That call was quickly followed by the arrival of a very enraged Secretary Cabell.

It was apparent that Bella’s father was no ordinary person!

The more Carter thought about it, the more frightened he became. He quickly walked up to James, and with a flushed face, bowed and apologized.

“I… I’m sorry, it’s my… my fault. My apologies to you. Bella can continue to attend this preschool as usual.”

Then, Carter turned around, and with an expression filled with anger, shouted at Jenny. “You ignorant fool, don’t you have any teaching ethics? How dare you tyrannize that precious child? Outrageous!”

All of a sudden, everyone turned their gaze to Jenny.

The situation had taken a turn for the worse. Before Jenny was able to say anything, the tables had turned. She faltered as she tried to explain herself.

At that moment, Bella exclaimed childishly, “Miss Lewis and Miss Wallace always locked me up in the Little Black House!”

It was over!

Jenny and Miss Wallace’s faces instantly paled and turned as white as ghosts.

Carter was now in a fit of rage. He grabbed Jenny by the collar and harshly shoved her aside as he yelled at her,

“You bastard, how could you do such a savage thing? Get out of my sight, you’re both fired. You can take your salaries and leave immediately.”

Carter pointed at Jenny and Miss Wallace as he reprimanded them.

Jenny Leis became hysterical, it had not been easy for her to land such a good job at World Star Preschool.

She sobbed and cried. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Please forgive me!”

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

The two of them continued to beg for mercy.

“Forgive you? If I do that, then how can I guarantee the rights and interests of our students and their parents?”

While Carter scolded them. At the same time, he snuck a glance at James, trying to observe his reaction.

When Carter saw that James was still silent, he became even sterner. He waved to the few guards. “Why are you guys just standing there? Take them away, this is a waste of time. Hurry up and take them to receive their salary. Then, get them to leave.”

Jenny was now sobbing hysterically. She struggled to break free of the guard’s hold and knelt before James. She cried as she said, “I’m sorry, I know that I was wrong. I won’t do it again, please forgive me.”

James retorted coldly, “You get what you deserve. Your headmaster wants to fire you, what does that have to do with me?”

The guards did not dare delay the matter any further and quickly pulled Jenny and Miss Wallace away.

At that moment, Wendy Summer was left in shock. She asked James softly, “Did Secretary Cabell come because of your call?”

James laughed. “How could that be possible? I merely pretended to make a call to scare them. Who knew that it would coincide with the moment their superior arrived to check on their work. It was unfortunate for them, but they deserved it.”

“Oh, so that’s what happened…”

Wendy was taken aback for a moment. Nevertheless, she had no choice but to accept James’s explanation.

After all, he was just a security guard. How could he possibly know such an important person?

When he saw that the matter had been resolved, Julian Cabell finally let out a long sigh of relief.

He glanced at James; the mysterious figure had not spoken a word to him. Julian Cabell was a smart man and knew not to disturb James. Therefore, he left without saying a word.

The onlooking parents and teachers were astonished!

Headmaster Zahn was truly unlucky. The arrogant Jenny Lewis had rubbed many of the other teachers the wrong way, so perhaps it was her payback.

Someone had also taken a video and uploaded it onto the internet. Almost instantly, it became viral, garnering hundreds and thousands of likes.

“Daddy, does that mean I can go to school again?”

Bella looked at James. The former was blinking her big, obsidian-like eyes.

“Of course, no one will ever bully my baby again.”

James nibbled at Bella’s soft cheeks.

“Nom nom nom!”

Bella giggled as she wiped her cheeks with her chubby hands.

"Daddy, don't leave mommy and me ever again, okay?"

“Okay!”

“Daddy, you’ll have to take me to and back from school, okay?”

“Alright, from now on, daddy will always stay by you and your mommy’s side!”

Bella asked eagerly before she wrapped her arms around James’s neck. She was afraid that he would suddenly disappear.

Wendy, who was standing at the side, blushed. When she saw the father and daughter beginning to bond, her heart fluttered; she could not calm down for a while.

She felt as if she had done something right and had chosen the right man.

At that moment, Bella got down and walked in between them. She held her father’s hand with one hand and her mother’s hand with another. In an onlooker’s eyes, they were a picture-perfect family.

All of a sudden, a little boy dressed from head to toe in Armani scoffed. "Hmph, I don’t even know where her stray father came from… a stray child…”

“Nonsense, he’s my daddy. I do have a daddy. I’m not a stray child!”

Bella’s face was flushed with anger. Out of all the students in her class, that student liked bullying her the most.

Unexpectedly, the boy was quite young and had a fiery temper. He immediately reached out and pushed Bella. He shouted at her,

“You are a stray child, get lost!”

James’s eyes flashed, and he stepped forward in front of Bella.

Consequently, the little boy forcefully tried to shove James’s thigh. However, a rebound of strength made the little boy lose his balance. Hence, while cying, he fell to the ground.

“How could you hit a child? How dare you, as an adult, hit a child? My son is merely five years old. You’re an adult, and you dare raise your hand against a child?”

Next to the child, a middle-aged woman in her forties who was wearing Chanel screamed at James.
