Chapter 13

Bella took a good sniff of James. He smelled good and as nice as her mama.

Upon hearing his daughter call him "father", James’ heart was filled with glee.

He threw her daughter high up into the air, caught her in his arms, and did it again.

"Hahaha!"

"Hahaha!"

Soon, the happy laughter of a father and daughter reverberated in everyone’s ears.

Watching the scene unfold, Wendy covered her face with her hands as she sobbed.

At this moment, Miss Lewis, still clutched her swollen cheek, shrieked angrily, "How dare you hit me? Bella Summer, you don’t need to come to school tomorrow. You’re expelled!"

Upon hearing the teacher’s words, Wendy seemed anxious. "Miss Lewis, we can apologize and offer you compensation for your medical expenses. However, what right do you have to expel our daughter?"

"I don't need you to apologize, and I don't need you to pay for my medical expenses. From now on, your daughter won’t have to come to school. She’s expelled! "

Miss Lewis roared ferociously like a lion.

Wendy was flustered by Miss Lewis’ actions. The entrance quota of the preschool was limited. She had used her connections and spent a lot of money to get her daughter into the school.

If Bella was expelled, Wendy would have to juggle work and taking care of her child at the same time. How would she deal with that?

She was already experiencing headaches because of family and company-related affairs.

"You’re only a preschool teacher from what I see. What right do you have to expel my daughter?"

James turned to Miss Lewis, the teacher who was wearing a V-neck crop top and a miniskirt. She looked rather disdainful.

"What are you looking at? You dare hit me? Do you not know who my boyfriend is? I said that Bella has been expelled, and she will be! Just wait and see if you don't believe me!"

Miss Lewis looked proud and arrogant whenever she spoke of her boyfriend.

"What's the matter? What's everyone squabbling about? Ah, babe, what happened to you?"

A middle-aged man in a suit walked out from inside the school. He had felt that something was not right.

“Principal Zahn!"

"Principal, you are here. Someone hit Jenny."

Seeing the middle-aged man, several teachers and security guards walked over, simpering.

"Dear, Bella’s father hit me! It hurts!"

Jenny immediately covered her face and rushed into Carter's arms, crying as she spoke, "Honey, expel Bella Summer quickly. I feel upset whenever I see her face. She must also apologize to me and pay for my medical expenses. Look at my face!"

She showed her swollen cheek to Principal Zahn.

"Oh, so that is what happened?"

Carter squinted at James for a while and observed him carefully, trying to identify if he was someone he should be afraid of.

Carter immediately felt relieved when he noticed that the clothes James was wearing were quite ordinary. The man seemed to be nothing much.

He sneered disdainfully. “I have always heard that Bella Summer doesn't adhere to the rules and often bullies other children. Is that so?"

Carter spoke with malice. It was obvious that he was implying something.

"Yes, you’re right. Bella Summer has always been disobedient."

"She’s a bad apple, you got that right!"

Many people rushed to agree with him.

Some of the teachers frowned. They were obviously unhappy with Carter and Jenny’s antics, but they had no choice but to bow down to them.

Carter glared at James and shouted, "You, Bella Summer’s parents, listen well! Your child is not suited for our school. From tomorrow onwards, she won’t be allowed inside the school."

"Hah, that’s what you get for hitting me! I said that she would be expelled."

Jenny boasted gleefully while looking at James and Wendy.

Bella’s head was lowered and pressed against James’ shoulder. She said nothing and only pouted; there was a sad expression on her face.

"Mom, don't cry. It doesn't matter. It’s fine if I’m expelled. I won’t come to this preschool anymore. I'll stay at home."

Bella turned out to be the sensible one who reassured Wendy.

James patted Bella on the back and said with a smile, “Don't be sad. His words mean nothing. My daughter will go to any school she wants to attend. "

"Dad! Really?"

Bella laughed happily.

Wendy looked at James in surprise. His expression told her that he was not boasting, but she was not entirely convinced.

Upon hearing James’ words, Carter laughed scornfully and said, "If my words don’t count, yours do? This school is directly under municipal authorities. Who do you think you are? Do you think you can play lord over me?"

“This is freaking hilarious. My boyfriend is the principal. Who has the final say if not him? You’re only an ordinary person. Can you even stick your fingers in the affairs of a municipal preschool? You’re making me laugh!”

Jenny laughed so hard that she pulled a muscle in her swollen cheek. It was so painful that her brows furrowed immediately. Immediately, she turned to glare viciously at James.

Miss Wallace piped up in support as she said, “Hah, what use do empty words have? No wonder people say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. It’s fine if the daughter misbehaves, but her parents are exactly the same.”

"Ah, that young man is too impulsive. Why would he want to offend the principal and the teachers? World Star Preschool is managed by the municipal government, and the principal is a governmental official. What can he do? He’s only an ordinary citizen!"

"Yes, he’s too impulsive. Governmental officials naturally hold more power than ordinary people. At last, it’s his child who will end up suffering."

The parents around James whispered amongst themselves and shook their heads in dismay. None of them were in favor of James.

"It's okay. Let's go. We'll find another school."

Wendy did not want to be entangled in the mess any longer, so she whispered those words to James.

She also assumed that James was merely acting proud. She felt bad hearing Carter and Jenny jeer at him.

"It's those bastards that should get out of here."

James sounded serene.

"All right, all right, stop bragging. Get out of here. You are not welcome in our school."

Carter waved at James impatiently.

James ignored him and took out his mobile phone. He calmly called Jordan and said a few words.

Moments later, a black Audi with a special pass on it pulled over at the preschool’s gate. It was a vehicle from the municipal government.

"Wait. Isn't that Secretary Cabell’s car?"

Carter's eyes were sharp. He remembered the car starkly. Secretary Julian Cabell was a famous icon in the government. He was also Carter’s direct supervisor.

He darted over quickly to open the door of the vehicle for the secretary. Carter put on the smile of a flatterer and said, "Secretary Cabell, why are you here at our school on this fine day?"

Secretary Julian Cabell was a bespectacled man that looked respectful at first sight. However, he was currently furious. As soon as he got out of the car, he started barking at Carter, "You son of a b*tch! If I hadn’t come today, you would’ve surely turned everything upside down! Mr Zahn, do you really think that World Star Preschool is yours?"

"How dare you allow unethical teachers to bully the children?"

"How dare you expel your young students for no reason?"

"How dare you do whatever you want just because you work in a municipal unit?"

"Apologize immediately! If you don’t show enough remorse, I'll fire you!"
