ZANNICUS' POV:

After everything that happened this morning, I went back downstairs to find the room already empty.

'Huh, they must have gone training then.'

I was on my way o the living room to start cleaning after doing the dishes only to find Alpha Ryder standing in the middle.

Gritting my teeth, I bowed slightly while clenching my fists to stop myself from hurling an ice spear at him. He was strangely quiet so I chanced a glance but I stepped back upon seeing him standing  right in front of  me.

But in one swift movement, he grabbed me by the neck and hoisted me up. I couldn't breathe and I kept scratching at his hand to get him to release me but to no avail. I almost passed out when he finally decided to let go.

I landed with a harsh thud while I coughed and gasped for air. I'm sure a new hand print will appear later on.

"If you ever display that kind of behavior ever again, I will throw you back in the cells and chain you with silver. Understood?! Well not that it would affect you too much as you're human, and a pathetic one at that."

'That's what you think'

"Let me at him!"

My wolf snarled.

"No! You know we can't! Stay down!"

He whined a little as a reply but backed down.

"Yes Alpha."

I replied hoarsely.

But if only he knew that silver doesn't affect me at all.

'Well that's because he thinks I'm human, or that my wolf just doesn't want to come out.'

"Good. Now, your task for today is to clean the entire pack house from top to bottom including my office. I want it spotless. I don't want to see a single speck of dust lying around here."

"Yes Alpha. May I ask what for?"

"We have visitors later and when you are done, hide in the kitchen and don't even think of showing your face until I call you. Understood?"

He replied through gritted teeth.

"Yes Alpha."

With that, he turned and walked out leaving me on the floor clutching my neck still gasping for air.

'Might as well. But wait, he didn't say what time they would arrive. Then I should get a head start.'

I stood up and went to the equipment cabinet and pulled out the things I need.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine don't worry"

Sighing as he spoke,

"Why do you do this to yourself?"

"You know why. If he knew about you and our powers, he would just use us! And I will not let that happen!"

Yes, you heard right. I have powers and incredible ones at that. I have the power of controlling the weather.

And I possess one of the four elements- Fire. I knew about them when I turned 11.

After the pack kids beat me, I was so angry that the once sunny day became gloomy and thunder could be heard from afar.

I didn't feel my eyes were glowing as I was busy glaring at their backs while they were walking away. I imagined in my head that they would be hit by lightning and then BAM!! 

That's EXACTLY what happened. The lightning came crashing down, striking the four of them right on their heads.

Their bodies jerked wildly before they collapsed. I heard that they ended up in a coma for 3 weeks.

And when they woke up, they suffered from amnesia. They had no recollection of what happened before. Since that incident, every night as everyone slept, I would train myself and my powers.

I would also run so I can let my wolf out. Speaking of runs,

"Hey, wanna run tonight?"

Of course, he didn't need to reply as I already knew his answer. If not for the way he started bouncing on his paws.

"Yes!! Yes, yes please!!"

He exclaims while lifting his butt up and vigorously wagged his tail. I laughed, pleased by his reaction.

"Alright, we'll go tonight. I'm sorry you didn't get to run last night."

"Oh Zannicus, you don't need to apologize. You can't exactly run last night in your condition."

I smiled at how considerate my wolf is.

"Thanks Axar."

"Besides I'm not gonna die if we miss a nights run."

Chuckles tumbled out of our lips.

'Ah, I love my wolf.'

"And I love you too."

Smiling one last time, I resumed my duties of cleaning Alpha Ryder's office. As his kind request.

'I hate him.'

By the time I finished cleaning, I was sweating profusely like a popsicle left to dry out in the sun.

I was currently organizing the cleaning materials when I heard the front door open, I quickly finished organizing and went to greet whoever was at the door.

And I kinda wished I never went.

"Well, well if it isn't our favorite omega"

'Oh, great, Ronan's friends.'

The four of them always corner me when they get the chance.

"Is there something I can help you with?"

Answering politely while inwardly rolling my eyes.

"Actually, yeah, there is something we forgot to do."

Cocking an eyebrow, I glanced up only to find myself surrounded by the four who looked like they just got back from a farm.

Or more specifically, a pig farm.

'No... '

"There are a few moves we forgot to practice, and my punches are a bit uncoordinated."

One of them answered while smirking.

'Oh, no. No, no, no. Not again'

But I wasn't able to come up with a snarky reply as I was immediately met with a strong kick at my back.

'Mother-! The bruise from last night hasn't  healed yet.'

After that, a punch was launched at my chest eliciting a harsh cough, then a couple punches to my sides.

'I wince a little but I don't show it'

I will not give them that satisfaction as that just fuels them to do more.

After the punches, one of them kicked my left side sending me to the floor. One of them pushed their foot on my back when I made a move to get up.

I fell flat on my face and I bit the inside of my cheek hard to the extent of drawing blood to prevent any sounds from coming out as more punches and kicks were rained on me.

And then I sensed him.

I fluttered my eyes open and glanced between the legs in front of me to find him standing by the door that leads to the backyard. Frozen. Watching with wide eyes.

I thought I saw something flash in his eyes, and what was it?

'Concern? Anger?'

I must be seeing things, because as soon as it came it disappeared.

His expression was once again replaced by his stoic one and eyes void of any emotion before he turned his back and left me again.

You know, for once, I wished he would come and help me, just once, and not just stand there idly and watch.

'But that's just it....... its just my wishful thinking.'

Feeling blood dripping out of my lips, I closed my eyes and laid still as I waited till they were finished.

And for once, I let my tears fall.

'What did I ever do to deserve this?'

'Why didn't my parents want me?'

'Why did they leave me?'

'Was I even supposed to be born?'

'I think........I'm just a mistake'
