Underestimated Mate

I groaned waking up to the shrilling sound of my alarm.

'sweet fiddlesticks, I hate mornings.'

Flapping my arm around looking for the dang thing and finally shutting it up by throwing it into the drawer of my bedside table.

Groggily, I sat up, my hair looking like a bird's nest.

"its 5:40 am" (sighs)

I set my alarm for 5:20, why is it that I always wake up 20 minutes after?

'Ugh, whatever'

Stretching one last time, I drag myself out of my bed and made my way to my cramped bathroom. Glancing at my cracked mirror, I took the time to look at myself. I have a black eye and a busted lip that has yet to heal from last night events.

Some actually still hurts by the way.

Slowly taking my shirt off, I noticed that the bruises on my back, stomach and sides have healed but has faded into purpleish blobs.

All of this because I was late in serving the pack's dinner last night. I took off the rest of my clothes and stepped into the shower and did my morning routine. After that, I walked back to my room and changed into my usual white shirt and sweatpants.

After all, its the majority of what I have in my closet.

Quickly slipping them and with my hand, I combed through my hair. Taking one last look at my mirror, I nod approvingly.

"I look good enough."

Hey, I'm not lying, I'm not one of those skinny or malnourished omegas if that's what you're thinking. I actually have a nice body.

I have pale skin (which I hate with a passion cause it just makes everything completely visible) and I have muscles and a four-pack which I hide under my large shirts and I'm not small either.

Glancing at the clock I noticed it was already 5:56.

"Oh shoot!!"

I ran upstairs to the kitchen to make breakfast. The whole pack wakes up at exactly 6:30, well, some of them. I quickly pulled out the ingredients and tools I need and started making bacon, eggs, toasts, waffles and the whole breakfast thingamajiggy.

After some time, I spared another glance at the clock.

'6:02?! I have to hurry if I don't want another beating for serving breakfast late.'

Just so you know, there are about 594 members in our pack. Yes, I know its a big number. Most of the pack members like warriors, their children, the beta, the Alpha and Luna and their son are here in the pack house.

The rest are outside with their own houses.

Just as I finished distributing equal portions of the food on the plates, I heard footsteps and glanced up to find Beta Seth walking in with one eye closed.

"Good morning Beta. Would you like some coffee? "

"Oh, good morning Zannicus and yes please."

I poured his coffee and placed it beside him, he gave me one of his small smiles as a thanks. I like him, he's always been kind to me. He and the Luna are the only ones - aside from my best friends -who treat me nice and who calls me by my name.

He tried to defend me most of the time but stops whenever Alpha Ronan- his best friend and one of my tormentors -gives him a look.

I don't even know how he became best friends with someone as kind and thoughtful as Seth.

Giving a small smile in return, I walked back to the kitchen to wash the equipments I used. I was scrubbing the pan when I heard another set of footsteps.

But I didn't need to look to know who it is, just by the nauseating, strong cologne of hers, you can smell it from a mile away.

'Jeez, you'd think she was bathing in it'

"Hey omega! Where are my eggs?"

'In you'

Axar snickered while I rolled my eyes.

Pouring her coffee, I placed it in front of her and internally blinked rapidly at her choice of clothes.

'Good gracious! It's too early in the morning and what she wears is fitting for a strip club. She's wearing a red croptop and a very short white skirt that doesn't even cover her ass.

She has dyed red hair that reaches up to her lower back and green eyes. But, she is a slut, the queen of them. Her recent boytoy is none other than the son of Alpha Ryder and Luna Eve himself.

Like she has slept with almost half of the pack. She said she doesn't even care about her mate, if she does find him.

'Unfaithful she-devil.'

I glanced at Beta Seth to find him making faces at Stacy while she was looking at me. I was doing my best to hold in my laughter when I heard her speak.

"Hey!! You weren't listening! I told you to call me Luna Stacy! And show some respect will you."

Arching an eyebrow,

"And why would I do that?"

"You little-"

"Watch the way you speak to her omega!!"

Startled, I looked up and saw him, Ronan. Still looking good even if he just woke up, and in case I haven't mentioned it yet, he's my mate.

How do I know? I'm only 17. When you turn 18 that's the time you'll know who your destined mate is. Well, I'm not like the others, I shifted earlier than the rest- 9 years old to be exact -and normal Werewolves shift at 13.

I knew he was my mate when I turned 14. But I wasn't one of those people who looks at him with googly eyes and chasing him around like some lovesick puppy.

No.....The second his scent hit me, I hated it.

I snapped out of it when I heard the she-devil speak again in a very high-pitch tone that can break an eardrum.

"Hi baby!! Glad you're here. Can you teach this filthy omega a lesson?  He hasn't shown respect to me since I got down and my head hurts."

'What?!'

I snapped my head towards her. And when she turned to me, she flinched because I was glaring at her.

'This little delusional bi-'

I snapped out of my inner cursing when something echoed in the room and my head was thrown to the other side, a burning sensation left in my face.

'He slapped me.'

I'm sure my lip was bleeding but I didn't feel the pain as I looked over to Stacy to find her smirking before turning to Ronan.

"You listen to me. Not only you disrespected her by not showing respect, you also had the audacity to glare at Her. How dare you, an omega look at his future Luna like that!"

By the time this was all going on the rest of the pack was watching and some were already sitting down with smirks on their faces.

'Oh how I wished to rip it off of their faces.'

Instead of bowing in submission, I stared back at him defiantly, and I didn't miss the flinches and the gasps of the pack when I did that. Even Ronan himself was surprised but quickly regained his composure and we continued our stare down.

Of course this wasn't the first time i did this, I've been doing this since we were both 13 which only resulted in more beating.

I can tell I was about to win as he kept blinking and gulping but I was pulled out oof it first but kept my gaze on him upon hearing his father- Alpha Ryder -speak in a loud, commanding voice that forced everyone to bow......Except me.

"Omega! How dare you stare back at your future alpha! Submit!"

Rolling my eyes- which was a mistake on my part -eliciting gasps from the pack members. I replied sneering.

"Never. He's not my Alpha nor will I ever treat him as such."

The members once again looked at me in disbelief including Alpha Ryder and Ronan. He was fuming and was about to speak again when Luna Eve came to my side and put her hand on my shoulder.

"Enough Ryder! You too Ronan! Zannicus darling, calm down sweetie."

Her voice instantly calmed me down as always. I backed down and finally broke eye contact with Ronan while cursing him to high heavens and turned to her.

"Now all of you sit down and eat. I need to take care of him first."

"Mom?"

She dragged me out of the kitchen leaving her mate, son and the pack members with open mouths and took me to their bedroom. She went to the bathroom and came out with a small towel and wiped the blood from my lip.

"Since when?"

"Since you were 14"

'Ah. The time I found out Ronan was my mate.'

"Well, I can't exactly fight back as it will only result In more beating, you know that Luna. And believe me when I say, I really do want to but I can't."

She sighs, looking at me with pity and then pulled me in for a hug. This is exactly what I needed. I closed my eyes, savouring the warmth she was giving me. She pulled back and gave me a soft smile.

"Hey omega! Where the hell are you?! Get your ass down here and clean up!"

Ronan- the son of a donkey with leprosy -shouted from downstairs.

And the moment's ruined as I pulled back and made an annoyed face and she laughed.
