Chapter 2: I'm Being watched

(Layla's POV)

As I entered the house, it was just as beautiful as the outside. 

The place was welled furniture and had everything.

It was a little dusty here and there but that's okay, I was satisfied and grateful to have this place.

I left my stuff by the front door and started to explore. 

My grandmama was really good at house designing so having this house being passed down to me makes me feel honored and happy.

Entering the kitchen I immediately spotted a portrait of my grandmama and papa which instantly brought a smile to my lips and tears to my eyes. 

“I miss you, grandmama and papa, ”

I caress their painted faces like caressing a newborn baby.

Closing my eyes as I remembered when my grandmama used to sing to me. 

Without realizing it, I too began to sing.

Singing would always put me at ease when life was extremely harsh towards me.

I remembered when I would have a nightmare, my grandmama used to sing a lullaby to me which she sang to my mother. 

Eventually, that song becomes my favorite song in the whole world for 2 specific reasons.

One, because my grandmama used to sing it and two, it would make me feel close to my mom.

The song soon came to an end but my eyes still remained closed until I felt like someone watching me.

Slowing opening my eyes, I saw a blurred figure outside my window behind the bushes causing me to quickly wipe the tears out of my vision. 

But when I do regain back my sight I saw nothing, there was nothing there but bushes.

“Hmm, that's strange, ”

Exiting the kitchen, I decided to continue on with the tour before settling in, possibly unpacking until tomorrow comes for where the hard work begins.

I ran as soon as I saw her eyes began to flutter open angering my wolf.

“What the f**k are you doing, Drake, she needs us, you saw the look on her face as she sang that song, ” 

“I know RJ, but right now we have to figure out how to tell our pack that their luna is a human and most importantly we have to figure out how to tell our luna,”

Suddenly I heard my wolf whimpered.

“What's wrong, buddy?”

“Do you think she'll accept us?”

“I don't know bud, I don't know, ” 

I was seriously confused, why would the moon goddess make my soulmate a human.

My pack really hated humans since our past wasn't really friendly. 

Humans were the reason why I lost my parents.

I hate them with a passion and now my luna and soulmate is the creature hate the most.

I ran all the way to the packhouse heading to the place I spend most of my time.

I sat down on my chair as my eyes were shut. 

A heavy sigh left my mouth as I tried to calm my nerves not mention how bratty RJ was acting about being far away from our mate. 

As I go to scold him for his behavior my office door was slammed out revealing my beta and delta or known as the twins.

“Alpha, what happened with the human, did you kill it?”

RJ growled at the words that came out of Jason's mouth.

“Sorry, Alpha, ”

“Boys, I have something to discuss with you, but first, Mason, please close the door and lock it, ”

Upon hearing my words, Luke quickly closed and locked the door while Jason gave me a confused looked.

“Is everything alright, Alpha?” 

“It's about the human, ” 

I can see that my words caused them to tense up as they tried their best not to growl. 

“What about it?” 

“I want you to listen to me very carefully, whatever is said in this room stays in this room or you'll face the consequences, ” 

“Yes, Alpha, ” 

“The human is a woman and she's my mate, ” 

Their eyes immediately widen the size of plates followed by their jaws dropping.

“WHAT!”

I immediately growled at Jason's sudden outburst.

“B-But Alpha, how is that even possible, she's not even a wolf, ” 

“I don't know, Mason, but this is the work of the moon goddess so we shouldn't question it but I need a favor from you too, ” 

“What is it, Alpha, ” 

“I need you guys to watch over her, ” 

”With all due respect, Alpha, but do we look like 2 fairy godmothers or guard dogs, ” 

Shooting a glare straight at Jason, who immediately bowed down in submission he quickly spoke.

“Yes, Alpha, we'll get right too it, ” 

“Good and make sure you report back to me when something's wrong, ” 

“Yes, Alpha, ” 

“Okay, boys, you're dismissed, "

(Mason and Jason's POV

“I can't believe we're on babysitting duty, ” 

“Jason, would you stop being a pussy and quit complaining, ”  

“First of all, don't call me that and second, aren't you mad that we have to watch over a human, wolves hate humans, ” 

“You heard what the Alpha said Jason, we don't question the work of our moon goddess, besides that human is our luna so we have to suck it up and respect her, ” 

“Whatever, Mason, are we there yet?” 

“Yeah,  it's just right down this path, ” 

Both Jason and Mason went down the path which leads to the house where Layla was staying in. 

“At least these humans weren't so bad, I wonder why she's staying in their house, ” 

“That's not our concern, let's just do what the Alpha requested us to do, ” 

They both lay there watching over the house as the sun was going down.

(Layla's POV)

The sun was setting and I was getting ready for bed.

Stepping out of the bathroom while drying my hair I stopped in front of my open window which made me felt unease. 

“Why do I always feel like I'm being watched, ” 

Immediately shutting my window, I crawled onto my bed before drifting fast to sleep. 

(Author's POV)

Midnight stroke and Layla still fasted asleep when her window suddenly opened. 

Soon a shadow aroused from the bottom of the window indicating that someone had just entered.

“Hello, my luna, I've come to take care of you, ”
