Chapter 7

"Good evening Doctor " i greeted him and sat down

"Good evening Aubrey" he says and smiles at me "your sister is still under observation, but there is absolutely no need to worry, we would continue to observe her reactions throughout the night alright " he tells me

"Thank you very much Doctor, I'll be on my way now" i say and stand up to leave, i walked out of the hospital. I went back to my favorite park and sat down, the last time i came here i had no means of paying my sister's surgery and now that i am here, i signed a contract to be someone's surrogate and my sister's surgery has been paid, the surgery was successful. I wiped the tears that had began to fall down my cheeks 

This was actually tears of joy, these past few days has been horrible, I didn't even know how to get out of the loads of problems i was facing but here i am. I sighed and watched as the parents began to take their kids home as it was getting dark, I don't know how long i sat down there just gazing into the sky.

I stood up and waked towards my house *soon i am going to be at mr obnoxious's house*

I got home and unlocked my door, had my bath and i laid on my bed trying to process the days event, i sighed and slept off.

The next morning, i woke up early and had my bath. I got dressed and wore a plain white too with a very very faded jean, i packed my hair into a ponytail and looked at the mirror. My skin was looking very dry and dull, I didn't always have such a dry skin but when i started taking care if myself and June. Whenever i got money it was just to buy food and nothing else.

I licked my lips to make it a little wet, mr obnoxious white should be here soon, i sat down waiting for him to come here. You see my life wasn't always like this, when my dad was alive and my mom was around we used to be such a happy family, i was almost done with high school and my mom had just given birth to June, my dad worked as a mechanic while my mom was a stay at home mom. 

My life was super easy, but when my dad started to get really sick *but I can't really say what had happened * 

His health started to deteriorate a lot and one day, i went to school and got back from school and i heard my dad has passed on

'Funny right' when i left for school he had wished me a goodbye and now that i am back from school, i was told that he had died.

Everything changed after my dad's death, my mom became extremely distant and started to neglect June and i, 

Three years after i got back home and met a letter addressed to me from my mom telling me she couldn't cope with us anymore and needed to rebuild her life without us, and like that she was gone

I snapped out of my thoughts when i heard my phone ring "come outside " he says and I dropped the call, i walked out and locked my door. Getting into his car i used the seatbelt 

"Good morning " i greeted him and got a nod for a response, i rolled my eyes at his very annoying attitude and faced my front. We drove for a couple of minutes and he parked the car

"Get down, we are here" he says and i got down

I waited for him to get down and we walked inside together 

"After this test we would have to fo through with the process of the baby" he says and i sigh

"Okay" I responded and we walked toward a office and entered 

"Doctor White, please come in i have been expecting you" the middle aged woman says and mr obnoxious smiled at her

"Thank you mrs Gladdy, we are here for the medical screening i told you about and also the standard physical with blood work, and also the ultra sound, i want everything done quickly " he says 

"Of course Doctor white, i have everything prepared " she says and looks at me

"Good morning miss, can you please follow me" she says and walks out of her office, after series of tests and examination we were finally done with it. The doctor comes in with the test result and i sit beside mr obnoxious, he was on a call and he hung up, folding his arms on his chest and placing his phone on the table he looks at us

The doctor removes her glasses "She's perfectly okay Mr White and she is healthy " she says and i breathed a sigh of relief 

*i don't have 400,000$ to refund anybody*

"That's perfect, do you think we can do the embryo transfer today?" He asks her and she shook her head 

"We can't do it today, but i am going to give her an injection today so you can come back tomorrow " she says and he nods

"Can you please give her the injection now, i have to get back to work soon" he replied her

"Of course, can you please come with me" she asked me and I followed her, she gives me the injection and after that was done we went back to the office

"It's done Doctor, you can come back tomorrow and complete it" she says and he stands up

"Can we go now or do you want to sleep here?" He asked sarcastically and i rolled my eyes

*what exactly is this man's problem *

We got into the car and he drove towards the hospital, he parks at the same block and i knew exactly what he wanted so i unbuckled my belt and got down

He drove away *i would see if he keeps up with this annoying attitude of his when i get pregnant " I groaned and started walking towards the hospital 

I started walking to the hospital and i straight to the doctor's office and knocked, i waited till i heard a come in and went in

"Good afternoon Doctor " i greeted him and sat down

"Good afternoon Aubrey, your sister has been doing alright according to our observation but she is still unconscious " he says and my smile dropped 

"Is it normal for her to still be unconscious, its been over 24hours and she is still not awake" i say, i was beginning to get very worried 

"Don't worry Aubrey, it's totally okay it might take a while for her to get conscious" he says and i breathed a sigh of relief 

"Can i see her now?" I asked him and he nods

"Of course, she was in the intensive care unit although she has been transferred now to a private room" he says and i look at him with shock 

"Private room!!" I exclaimed and he nodded

"Someone had paid for everything and requested for a private room" he says and i knew exactly who it was

"Okay doctor, what is her room number?" I ask him

"215" he replies and i walked out of his office , not noticing the smile on my face

"So he wasn't all bad after all"
