Chapter 13

Carlos came to pick me up from the hospital, The man didn't like to talk much, I git into the car and he got in right after me and starts driving, My mind wandered back to when June thought he did not like her, a faint smile appeared on my face as I remembered what had happened 

"We are here miss!!" Carlos said and I looked up to see the Mansion, I scurried out of the car and walked towards the house, I pressed the doorbell and Amanda opened it, A light smile appeared on her face and I smiled back at her

"Is he around?" I asked and she shook her head, I breathed a sigh of relief and walked past her into the house. An amazing smell hits me as soon as I stepped into the house and I stop abruptly "what's that?" I asked no one in particular but turned to look at Amanda who was looking at me confused 

"what do you mean miss?" She asked me and I sniffed the air again and she starts to laugh

"It's probably dinner miss," She says and I beam with joy

*When did I start to get so happy because of food?* I wondered as I walked towards the kitchen

"Wow! This is so much, Are we having company?" I asked and she shook her head 

"That's just how Mr white likes it," She says and I palmed my lips together 

"I'll be in my room, I will be back soon," I say and she nods, I walked gently up the stairs and counted my steps to the room, I wouldn't want a repeated episode of the other night. I got into my room and shut the door behind me, I peeled off my clothes and walked into my foreign bathroom, I was still not used to the kind of life I am living here, I got under the shower and had a cold bath. After I was done I tied a robe around my body and dried my hair. I laid on my bed to close my eyes and rest for a few minutes, instead, I felt someone tap my shoulder lightly and opened my eyes to see piercing green eyes looking at me, His eyes shone brightly in the dark, I sat up still looking at him

"Amanda said you haven't eaten? why?" He asked me but I was too mesmerized with his eyes, how they shone brightly in the dark

"Aubrey!!" His stern voice brought me back to reality and my face flushed, thankfully it was dark so he couldn't see me

"umm, I fell asleep," I say and I could see his green eyes flutter

"Come downstairs, You need to eat," He says and I furrow my eyebrows 

*Wait, why would he come up here to wake me up to eat* I wondered and his deep voice called out to me again 

"Y-Yes" I stuttered and he sighed, Walking out of the room with me hurrying up to catch up with his pace but I bumped into his back, I could hear him muttering some few curses and I literally facepalmed myself

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry" I muttered and he looked back at me, My eyes caught his and his eyes seemed to linger on mine, He looked away and continued walking while I did the same, We got downstairs and took a seat on the chair and he starts to serve dinner

"No, no, no, don't worry I can do it" I attempted to stand up but he placed his large hand on mine  "Leave it," He says and walks away. I looked at my hand and a faint smile appeared on my face

*I know he was being nice because I am carrying his child* He starts to dish the food and I start to eat mine

"How is your sister?" He asked me and I almost choke on my food *He is actually talking to me like I am a person * 

"Umm... She is fine" I responded meekly and he nodded, We finished with our foods and he stood up to go to his room

*Get some sleep Aubrey" He says and walks away, leaving me to myself in the dining room, I walked back into my room and sat down, I couldn't sleep anymore even if I wanted too. I have to wait till sleep arrives. I laid on my bed waiting for sleep to take me away.

The next morning I woke up late than usual but I was feeling more refreshed than before, I sat up rubbing my eyes and I stood up, walking over to the mirror stand, I took a look at my body and touched my tummy, It was still very flat but I knew in a couple of months I would start to show and would be visible to everyone. I sighed and blocked all thoughts away, Walking into the bathroom and I had my bath, using a robe on my body, I walked into the closest to take out my bag but I couldn't find it

*But I kept it here* I started to look for it but couldn't find it, I walked out of my room to look for Amanda and I saw her doing some dishes

*Amanda!, I can't find my bag" I say and she looked at me and smiles

"Good morning miss, Mr. White had ordered it be thrown away?" I asked and she smiled again, my mouth was left open 

"I'm sorry, What do you mean thrown away?" I asked and she smiled again

"Sorry miss, He ordered it be thrown away as it's not fit for his house," She says and tears welled up in my eyes *My clothes, What am I supposed to wear?" I muttered and became angry in an instant

" How dare he!! He should have asked me but no, Whatever Mr obnoxious wants, Mr obnoxious gets" I say and Amanda's eyes widen

"What!! I'm sure you also think he is an obnoxious jerk, how can he throw my things away" I say but she didn't talk

"Wouldn't you like to say that in-person" I heard a deep voice say and my heart best increased 

"You can go back to work Amanda," He says and she scrambled away, I shut my eyes closed and slowly turned to look at him, He didn't look happy or angry, He looked indifferent 

"you were saying?" He raised an eyebrow and looked at me 

"I didn't mean anything I just said, It's just how could you ask that my bag be thrown away without my consent," I say and he stays silent

"wear whatever you have in your closet," He says and walks out of the house, I folded my fist in anger

*This man is the most aggravating, Annoying man I have ever known* I heard some noise behind me and I turn to see Amanda carrying somethings, She looks at me and starts to laugh nervously

"Miss!" She starts to laugh but stops on looking at me  " Aubrey!" I tried to warn you" She says and I glare at her "You could have given me a sign or something, "I say and she smiles sadly at me

"Sorry Aubrey, I should have tried harder" I sighed on looking at her

"Well it's fine Mandy," I say and she looks at me shocked

"Sorry I should have asked if you were cool with it," I say and she smiles happily 

"no-no, I love it," She says to me and I smile, I glanced around and caught sight of a huge portrait on the wall 

*How did I not notice this* I wondered and walked closer to it, The portrait was of a woman, but not any kind of woman, It was of a woman with elegance and class. Looking at the picture you will see her aura of power radiating, Her skin was as light as milk yet shone like butter, her long blonde hair shimmered and shone brightly, her beauty was indescribable 

"Wow!"I whispered, "Who is she?" I asked Amanda and she smiled sadly at the picture before looking at me 

"His Wife!"
