Chapter 9: What we do

My sleep was interupted when Jade just barging in, shouting that we need to go. I just sit in here and watch her rancked the things I brought and she happens to include my money. 

"Why do you bring this huge pile of money with you? And why are you just sitting in there?" she ask and I just look at her with my groggy eyes. Really? First thing in the morning? I am still sleepy.

"I thought I needed that. And where are we going? You didn't tell me anything about going out in the morning." I lay down again trying to sleep but she snatch the comforter from me. 

"Us going out today just came in earlier. Come on, Jake's waiting." She pulled me up and throw the clothes she brought for me at my face. 

"That's not nice. What about Hades?" Since I'm feel like I'm not gonna go back to my sleep anymore, I stand up and pick up the clothes she threw at me. I went to the bathroom to take a bath and wear it.

"I knew that would fit you perfectly. Hades is not coming." She said as soon as she saw me. She immediately pull me to go down. 

"I don't what to come too." She glance at me and grin. 

"No. You're coming. Hades needs to be here." She told me. She leads me down the basement and that makes my heart beats fast. I so hate basements. It's suffocating me.

"You know that I hate basements right?" I asked her. I roam my ayes around the basement. No chains, good. I heaved a heay sigh and clench my fist.

"Yeah, but this has been her like forever. Hades said it's better to be in the basement." She explained and hold my hand. I saw Jake walking towards us while looking at me from head to toe. 

"You look great than expected. At least better than my sister." He said grinning. His sister started shouting and throwing things at him which never hit him, by the way.

"I look good, stupid!" Jade said still shouting at him in a funny way, calling him names. I shrug at them and sit down on the floor to watch them beckering. They really seem so close. Jake look at me while holding her sister to calm her down.

"Aren't you gonna stop her and help me?" he ask, his face looks pleading.

"No. I like watching you." I said and yawn. Jake look at me bewildered.

"Watching me being bullied?" He exclaimed. I nodded and urge Jade to fight with him more. 

"Guys come on. We need to move." Hades called and Jake help me stand while Jade kick Jake at his right foot but it never even touch him.

"Thanks." I mumbled and started to walk towards Hades with my guards up. 

Hades handed us a folder. And I just look at it. I know how to read but I'm not that good. All I'm ready when I was young was a childrens book given to me by Mandy and Mandy only taught me th basics.

"What is this? What are we really doing? And where are we going?" I ask them. Hades and Jake look at Jade.

"I thought you told her last night?" Hades ask her while glaring.

"Told me what exactly? She only told me about herself and boys." I told them.

"I forgot, alright?" Jade said not looking at us. 

"You always talk about boys as if you have a boyfriend." Jake countered. And again they started beckering. Hades let me sit infront of him and told me not to mind them.

He show me the folder and explain it. Which apparently had me shock. My eyes widen while he was talking about what's in the papers.

"Where going in there to steal the what? Am I going to a thief? My parents are rich, we can just ask them for money." I told him, shock is still evident on my face. He look at me confuse before shaking his head.

"We are not going to steal it. We are going to get it back." He said and pat my head softly while laughing. 

"What do you mean?" I tap his hand to make him stop patting my head. 

"The chip I'm talking about is owned by a billioner, Mr. Anthony Thorne. They manufacture technologies and weapons used by the goernment." He said. Wow, I neer thought we are that rich. How nice. "You do know Mr. Thorne right?" 

"Yeah. My father." I said casually but it makes caugh. "Are you alright?" I ask as I gently pat his back. He nodded after a while of caughing. 

"You... and Mr. Thorne? I mean... Their daughter died long time ago." He said confused and I grin at him.

"I told you." I just said and return to my sit. The other two, Jade and Jake finally stop quarelling and they sat on the floor catching their breath.

"Okay. Anyways, about the chip, it is highly dangerous, it was supposed to be given to the General but there's an ambush on the delivery and it was stolen. We have to get it back before it was used for a bad purpose." Jake nodded as they catch up to what we were talking about. 

"It's my father's fault, he should do something about it." I said and stand up ready to go but Jake hold my hand to stop me from walking out.

"He is. He and the General Hired us to take it back." Hades said, trying to convince to go with them.

"Who is your father?" Jades ask, looking at and Hades. I heaved a sigh and cross my hand.

"What do I get if I go with you? Look, I hated my father, he wanted me dead and you're asking me to lend a hand to sae his face?" I ask gritting my teeth. I don't like the idea of helping someone who don't even want me. I'm pretty sure he doesn't need my help.

"You can ask for an additional request as a payment. Whatever you want." Jake said while looking at me intensely.

"Can you asnwer me? Who is your father?" Jade moe infront of me and waving her hand. 

"Okay. But I will only help just because I want something. So What do I need to do?" I ask, giving up. I go back to my seat and listen to whatever they are talking.

"I want you to sneak to their base, okay. Don't be reckless this time. Mamo is new to this and eventhough she don't die, we don't want her to freak out." Hades said as he guide us to the table and laid down a huge paper with some drawings on it.

"Why would I freak out again?" I interrupted. I might seem lost and did not follow them.

"We are going to an enemy's base, Mamo. It'll be bloody if they notice us." Jade answer. Bloody... does she mean real blood? Doesn't matter to me.

"Okay, but How do you sneak? I don't know how." 

"Sneak as in they should not see us coming in or out. Like you did when you run away from your house' basement." Hades said, giving a terrible example. 

"I never sneak out." I shrug at them and they literally stop moving.

"Then how did you get out?" Jake ask once he moed on from what I said.

"I ask the maid to call my parent because I'm leaving. The maid even call thief."

"They just let you leave?" Jade ask. 

"Yeah. They give the money I ask for and leave. They never want me anyway." 

They nodded before they continue what we were discussing. They even explain step by step the things whatever we are gonna do.
