Chapter 7: I saw your death

I stoped walking when I saw the huge building with a lot of people. I guess this is what Talia called a mall. I hearad her once, talking at the phone. She said that she needs to meet her boyfriend at the mall to shop.

I walk towards the entrance and smile at the guards on post. I look around as I walk looking for something that I may use, thinking that this is where Talia bought all her tools to kill me. 

My feet suddenly stop at one of the stores when I saw wha they were selling. I wanted to try it so I go inside and as soon as I got inside someone greeted me.

"Good afternoon, welcome to Kentucky!" She happily said. I nod at her and walk towards the counter where I can see people lining up. I observe what they were doing and note it to myself. 

Well, I was locked up my whole life, so I needed all the knowledge I called ever use to survive this outside world. Not that I won't ever survive. I just don't want these people think that I'm different.

"May I have your order please?" The cashier, the girl in front of me ask kindly with a smile. I blink at her and look up where they put the menu of the store. That's pretty convenient for them. 

"Ahhmm... burger? and the carbonara. Orange juice as for the drinks. Thank you... Jade." I enumerated and she noded at me while repeating my orders. 

"That 25 dollars." I pulled my backpack and open it a little to get the money and place it at her hand when she hheld it out towards me. I saw her stop and stare at my hand that touched hers when I give her the payment.

"Is there something wrong?" I bend down towards her to ask softly and she shakes her hear.

"No, nothing. I just..." She smiled and look at the money I gave her. "Is there anything else you want to add?" She asked instead. I said no and she gave me a number after telling me that it'll be serve a little while longer.

I sit at the far back corner to hide myself from anyone else. I look at the reciept when I was settled down. I notice earlier that Jade wrote something on itei

Be careful. I someone stab you.

Oh, so someone will kill me? How many person are there that would want to kill me? And why would Jade know that? I shrug and set aside what she just told me. I don't care anyway.

Right after I put down the receipt, someone sit beside me and I felt a sharp object pointing at my side. That was fast. How fascinating.

"Give me your bag. I saw you earlier. I know that you bring money in that bag." He whispered. I shrug before facing him and smirk.

"Go on. Kill me. You can have all of it if you can." I smiled at him wider giving him and eerie look. And he actually stab me twice!

I flop down on the table, but I'm not dead. I look up at him and smile waiting for him to get the bags and walk out but he did not. He even eat the food I ordered while looking at me. I guess he's waiting for me to die. Too bad I don't.

"That sure hurts." I groan as I sit down properly after five minutes. I saw his eyes widen and mouth hung open. I wonder why he is so shock.

"What the?! You should be dead right now!" He exclaimed causing others to look at us. I look at him as if telling him that he shouldn't have shouted. What an idiot. Oh well. 

"I am not." I said but then I stab myself secretly when the guards came into view. "H-help... This guy wants to kill me." I acted. The guards handcuffed the guy who stab me.

"Are you okay?" I was shockd to see Jade at my side, looking worried for me. 

"When did you get in there?" I ask as I collect all my things and get up. I turn around and was about to walk away when she stop me.

"I rush as soon as I heard the man shout. Are you okay? Do you need to be rush to the hospital?" She is genuinely worried about me.

"Don't worry. I'm okay. This is nothing. I have to go. Thank you for worring about me." I said and tap her shoulder and walks out. 

The stabwound I did to myself is finally healing. I was sitting on the floor at the back of the food store I ate earlier waiting for this wound to heal fully so that I can move freely. 

"There you are. I was looking for you. Are you sure you're okay?" Jade showed up in front of me.

"What are you doing? Don't you have work to do?" I ask her and pulled my bags near me.

"I ask for a half day." she reach out her hand and oulled up my shirt before I could even stop her. 

"What... I thought you got stab? I saw...no... I saw you died. You were supposed to be dead." she said shaking, looking so confused.

"I'm not dead. Why are insisting that?" I asked.

"I saw you stopped breathing at the table. I saw it when your hand touched mine." she said. I see. I nodded at her and smile. She stop shaking and backs away from me before glaring.

"What?" I ask innocently. I pick up my bag and stand up. My would is all healed and I wanted to sleep. Now that I think about it, I need to find somewhere to sleep.

"Why would you do that?" she followed me.

"Do what exactly? And why are you following me?" I stop walking and face her smiling. 

"You wanted to break my hand!" I looked at her surprised. 

"I did? By the way do you know somewhere I can stay?" 

"Yes, you do. I saw it." she's still glaring at me. 

"Why do you keep saying that you saw it?" I ask her and that stops her. "Do you have some sort of power?" I added. She started shaking her head while laughing.

"What? are you a kid? What am I power rangers?" she said clearly faking it.

"Come on. Don't deny. You don't have to deny it. You can see yourself dying just before it happens. And..." I hold her hand tightly and drag her wherever my feet takes me.

Jade was gripping my hand tightly. She was shaking and sweating a lot as if she saw something she don't want to see.

"Wait! Stop!" she said in a panic. She's still shaking in fear. 

"Why do you have a poison with you? Are you suicidal?" She pulled me in the corner with less people ang looking around us as she whhispered.

"This poison is a... nothing. And no I am not suicidal. I just wanted to test my theory." I said proudly on the last sentence.

"Theory? What Theory?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowed.

"That you... can see anyone's death once you touched them." I said and I even nudge her. 

"You... what? That is not nice! You scared me. I hate it." 

"I figured. You hat it just because you see it before it happens." I turn my back at her as I yawn. I really need to look for a place I can stay.

"You can stay at my place. I live alone and I still have a room you can use." She said when she walks beside me. "So... aren't you gonna tell me why are you still alive?" I shrug at her.

"I died." I told her. "What you saw is true." I glanced at her and smile. She called a cab and tell the driver where her house is. 

"I know." she shrug, proud of herself. 

We stop at the big house just outside of the city and it is the only house I can see around the area.

"Welcome to my house." She said as I roam my eyes around it.

"And you live alone in this big house?" I ask, curious.

"No. There's Jake and Hades too." She opened the gate using her phone which surprised me. Our gate was not like that. 

"Oh... Aren't they going to be mad that you let me in here?" Her house is awesome! There are things that my family don't own. I thought ours are very modern but this house is way more ahad of time.

"They won't. This is my house." She lead my down a hallway and give me a key before pointing out where my room shoud be.

"We'll continue to talk later with the others, for now rest." She pushed me inside the room when I open it. I was about to ask her something but she was now walking away from me.
