Chapter 6 Overwhelming Enthusiasm

Juan heard Granny. Though he was unhappy about it, he did not reveal his emotions. He did not like someone spying on him, but Granny was an exception. She was doing all of this for his sake.

"Yes," Juan admitted.

"Oh? Do you like that girl? Quick, let Granny take a look! If I find her suitable, you should quickly get married! You are no longer young and should have someone by your side to take care of you. After all these years of fighting alone, you are also tired. Granny can't possibly take care of you forever, and my health has been deteriorating. I could also pass on at any time..." Granny started nagging.

Juan felt his head ache. He massaged his forehead, and said resignedly, "Granny, can you stop talking about this?"

"If I don't voice it out, will you do it? Every day, you are busy with endless work and missions. Look at yourself. You have already wasted your youth. In another two years, you'll hit 30! Take a look at that young Jones chap. His child is already so old. Aren't you envious? If you aren't, I am... I don't know when I will be able to have a great-grandchild. Can't you just satisfy my parting wish? I..." As the old lady spoke, her emotions stirred and her eyes brimmed with tears.

She made it sound like Juan had committed a heinous crime.

Juan was overwhelmed by this intense nagging. If his staff knew that their Major General Juan had been chided so badly, they would have been shocked.

"Granny, don't be too anxious about it..." Right at this moment, Leanna came forward and served Old Madam some tea to calm her down.

Leanna's appearance eased some of the tension. Old Madam held on to her hand and started whining. "Leanna, how can I not be worried? I don't know how long I will be able to live. If Juan doesn't get married before I die, then I won't be able to rest in peace."

"Granny, listen to what you are saying. You are still so fit and can definitely live to a ripe old age of a hundred years. You can even get to see Master's children grow up and get married." Leanna was good at keeping Old Madam happy, and without much effort, Old Madam had cheered up.

Juan could finally heave a sigh of relief. Just at that moment, a policeman walked in. Juan had no choice but to proceed into the study with him.

Old Madam did not disturb Juan further, as she knew that he had a more important matter to take care of. She switched her target, grasped Leanna's hands, and smiled. "Leanna, have you seen the lady that Juan brought home last night?"

A strange look flitted past Leanna's eyes. However, in the next second, she immediately put on a gentle smile. "Yes, a very exquisite and cute girl."

"Girl?" Old Madam knitted her brows.

Juan was already 28 this year. If Leanna addressed the woman that he brought home as a girl, then she had to be young. "Is she around 23?"

"Yes, she's young. Perhaps about 17 or 18 years old." Leanna smiled.

Upon hearing this revelation, Old Madam instantly blew her top. "The girl is only 17 or 18 years old?! Juan has been too reckless!" In a fit of anger, Old Madam slammed the sofa and stood up. The burning fury made her giddy, and her body wobbled a little. Leanna quickly stood up anxiously and lent her support.

"Granny, don't get so agitated." Leanna sensed that she had said the wrong thing and immediately tried to comfort her.

"I... How can I not be worried? How could this unfilial grandson be such a beast? He didn't even let a child off..." Old Madam's words hung in midair. Her gaze suddenly fell upon a girl who was wearing a white dress standing at the top of the stairs. With her long hair swaying in the wind, the girl was looking at Old Madam with an innocent face.

Old Madam was taken aback. She was instantly mesmerized by the girl, and her eyes remained fixated on her.

Leanna suddenly regretted giving Ginny that dress to wear.

She had not expected that Ginny would wear the dress so well. As a woman, Leanna was also smitten by Ginny's appearance.

It was just a simple, white dress. But when it was worn on Ginny, she exuded a pure and innocent aura, capturing everyone's attention.

Ginny glanced at the genial old lady and immediately grew a liking for her. She walked down the stairs and approached the old lady with a smile.

The young master had left abruptly just now, and Ginny had been feeling uneasy about it. She had not gone home after the incident and had wondered what happened at home subsequently.

There was no one upstairs. She had searched the room for shoes and clothes, but couldn't find any. So, she had no choice but to appear in her pajamas and barefoot.

Old Madam glanced back at Leanna with questioning eyes.

Leanna nodded her head lightly and admitted bitterly in her heart, "The Old Madam likes this girl."

Indeed, Old Madam liked Ginny a lot. She took a hard look at Ginny and felt that she was truly young. Unable to hold back her curiosity, the Old Madam stepped forward and held Ginny's hand. "Girl, how old are you?"

"18," Ginny answered with a smile.

"Oh, 18!" Old Madam was instantly delighted with the realization that she was at least of legal age. A crafty look flashed past her face. She clasped Ginny's hands tightly and continued, "What's your name?"

"Ginny Young." Ginny was surprised by the Old Madam's overwhelming enthusiasm and felt a little uncomfortable.
