“You’re scared now, huh? Summer, do you really think that you’re peculiarly fortunate or just the Plath family’s princess? Did you really think that all the boys will fall head over heels for you? Ben, who was seated behind them, gripped his recording pen tightly with a frown.

“I wanted them to murder you, but their purpose of kidnapping you was not to kill you. Instead, they wanted to make use of you. They took my money, yet you’re still alive,” Victoria sneered as she continued to provoke Summer. “You know the exact time I found that you’re alive. Summer stood still as she felt her body going numb. “Everything, from bringing you into Sea City to leaving you in front of Jasper’s car after the accident, was part of the plan. Summer, you’re just a chess piece used by someone else. Have you never thought of this before? Your father, Alaric Plath most probably took advantage of you too! As someone who was willing to trade business with the Miller family using his own sister through marriage, he could do the same to you as well!”

“Are you done? What do you know about my dad’s disappearance?” Summer’s gaze on Victoria turned fiercer and colder.

Victoria was shocked for a moment. She subconsciously avoided her gaze. “I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

“Victoria, some time ago, the police found a male corpse by the sea. The method of death is practically the same as to the hospital director on the day of the accident. First, he was involved in a crash, then, he was beaten up… That man is a gangster in the street for rental houses. You should know very clearly just what sort of relationship both of you share.”

All this information was discovered by Ben. His intelligence had definitely exceeded the limits of Summer’s knowledge of the world.

“Shut up!” Victoria became anxious when Summer mentioned that man.

Her fingers trembled as they turned pale. Even her expression became unnaturally stiff.

Summer narrowed her eyes. It was clear that Victoria was afraid. She was either afraid of the man or of what she experienced in the past.

“I hate you. I hate Jasper. Let’s see who will have the last laugh.” Victoria's voice was hoarse and full of anger. She hated Jasper, and she hated Summer even more.

If it were not for Jasper, she would not have to have had any entanglement with those gangsters…

“I found a video on your phone. I won’t publicize it as it concerns your privacy. You had the gangster killed, didn't you? If I give these videos to the police, they will list you as a suspect, and then…” Summer smiled and stared into Victoria's eyes.
