[Adrian and Yone went to have dinner together.]

When Adrian's car left, a black SUV followed them.

At the apartment for medical professionals, James looked at his watch as he held the bag of groceries. He expected Adrian to arrive home at this time, but he did not.

His gaze darkened as he took out his phone and called Adrian. Unfortunately, he did not pick up the call.

“Where's Adrian?” James emanated a cold aura as he called Elly.

“There has been an idiot who has been bothering me recently. I did some investigation on him. Turns out he’s Jasper's cousin. He intentionally or unintentionally asked about my relationship with you. I think we need to be vigilant,” Elly whispered. She was silent for a moment. “Adrian has his own thinking. He insisted to stay with you back then to keep things in balance. Now that you’re no longer hostile towards Jasper, he had no reason to stay. So it's better to give him some freedom. Maybe he really likes Yone.”

After a long pause, James looked at the groceries on the table. “Are they together?”

“Yes. I can see that he was enjoying taking Yone out for dinner,” Elly said gently yet also in slight anguish. “I know that you’re not hostile towards Adrian. You used to say that you don’t understand what I see in him. You could not understand why I couldn’t let him go. I didn’t answer you. It’s because… he’s worth it.”

Adrian was a good man, and that was Elly's first impression of him.

When Elly was in Country M, no one ever smiled at her so sincerely.

Adrian was the only one who did. During the first time they met, he smiled at her, and it was a gorgeous smile.

She liked Adrian, his cheerful vibe, and his clear gaze.

A man like Adrian should be well-protected and could not be defiled by anything in the world.

James raised his hand and rubbed the centre of his eyebrows. He then hung up the call.

He admitted that he had been losing his composure lately.

But if Victor ever did something to Adrian, he would not turn a blind eye.

At Happy Dragon Hotpot Restaurant, Adrian hung up James's call. He frowned and put the phone aside.

He felt that James was very annoying right now. Although he had protected him many times, he was always interfering in his life all the time too.

He was used to having freedom since he was a child, and he could not stand this kind of control. Even his best friend, Jasper would not control him like that!

“What's the matter, Adrian?” Yone whispered when she noticed Adrian hesitating when he looked at his phone.

“Oh, nothing. Let’s eat.” Adrian shook his head. “I'll take you home later. I need to be on duty early tomorrow morning.”

After dinner, Adrian hesitated again. He did not tell James that he came out. ‘What if he is still waiting for me…?

‘Why should I care about him?’

“Adrian, are we… a couple?” Yone hiccuped and whispered, after drinking some beer. She was blushing.

Adrian was stunned for a moment. He was a little confused by the question.

“Cheers, Adrian! Let’s drink.” Yone quickly shifted the subject as she tried to dodge his gaze.

“I need to… drive." Adrian hesitated, but when he saw the red in Yone’s eyes, he could not refuse her. “Okay, I'll call a surrogate driver later.”

“Okay. Cheers!” Yone smiled happily as she poured some beer into Adrian’s glass.

“Adrian…”

Adrian drank a couple glasses of beer. He was still sober.

“Hmm?” Adrian responded.

“Can we not go home tonight?” Yone lowered her head as she asked softly.

Adrian tightened his grip over his glass. ‘Is this her trying to… hook up with me?’

Adrian was not a saint. His experience in romantic relationships was as numerous as Jasper’s. Now that he thought about it, he had become a little abnormal ever since he met Summer.

“Umm, I still need to work early tomorrow morning…”

“Adrian, maybe we can rent a hotel room near the hospital. With that, you won’t be late for work tomorrow morning. Is that okay?” Yone blushed as she looked at Adrian.

‘Yone has already made it so clear. If I still refuse...’

Yone gathered her courage and looked at Adrian, “Let’s be together, Adrian.”

“Umm… I think we've known each other for only a short time. You don't know me very well yet. We can take our time to get to know each other more.” Adrian subconsciously declined. For some reason, he was actually thinking about that bastard, James.

After all, Yone looked like his former lover. Although he and James did not have many pleasant memories together, he was not an enemy. It would be a bit unfair if Adrian got together with Yone.
