When the two of them reached home, Easton was already there. His face had some bruises, but he did not look as terrifying as before.

When he saw Taylor, he smiled as he held her in his arms and kissed her.

The kid stared blankly at his face. She did not know what happened to him.

“I purposely put on some makeup to see you. Do you think it looks good?” Easton said gently.

The kid touched his face with her hand, and she smiled.

Jade sighed in relief.

Easton expressed his gratitude to Jade’s parents before he prepared to go back home.

When Jade saw it was noontime and Taylor would usually have lunch right after she came back from the school, she said, “Leave after lunch.”

Zephaniah by her side looked down quietly.

“Opps!” Jade’s mother suddenly shouted before she said embarrassedly, “I was playing chess with your father in the morning, and I delayed making lunch! I must be getting senile!”

Easton blinked, and something flashed in his eyes. He quickly smiled and said, “It’s okay, Mrs Redfern. I heard from Jade that Taylor wants to eat the lunch boxes I cook. I’ll go back and cook for her.”

Jade’s mother smiled. “Oh, alright. Both of you just met, you should spend some more time together.”

Jade stared at her mother in doubt. She smelled the food just now.

After Easton and his daughter left, Jade’s mother asked Zephaniah to sit first, and said the food would be ready in a while.

Zephaniah smiled as he answered her.
