CHAPTER 7
Author: Mira HarlsonLucas POV
"Good afternoon Ma." I greeted the housekeeper who was busy dusting the door that was already sparkling clean. It is either she had an obsessive disorder or she was running away from something possibly her boss.
She nodded not sparing me a glance. She moved to the side to give me passage. I swallowed, my eyes taking in the home decor again. The house had a Kind of coldness, not the one from the AC but a strange kind of coldness a feeling you get in the morgue.
"She's upstairs but I doubt she would be needing your services today." The housekeeper murmured walking away.
The pace of my heart beat increased by a thousand. I ran my hand through my short hair feeling frustrated. "What's wrong with me?" I sighed. Stopping on the third stairs. "Calm down Lucas. Calm down."
I stood in front of her door for a good two minutes asking myself if I really wanted to be in her room again, but then whether she was ill or not I was still supposed to report to her. It was better she asks me to leave than I didn't come at all. Bearing this in mind I Finally knocked.
"Mary come in." She said. Her voice, her voice enchanted me. It was so soft and beautiful. It was a summon to my soul.
I placed my head on the oak wood door, and breathed in a futile attempt to calm my raging heart beat. What is wrong with me?
It felt like the air couldn't even go into my lungs anymore, like it stopped in my throat. "Mary for the love of God come the fuck in!" She shouted shocking me.
"You should go in already." The housekeeper muttered startling me. I turned back to see her looking suspiciously at me. She was such a small woman probably in her fifties, with a short white hair she packed behind her head. yet she looked somewhat intimidating.
She was holding a tray with a cup on top and slices of bread. "Why are you standing here."
I went quiet. "Madam was asking of. Of Mary. So I don't, felt__" I stammered pressing my hands on my forehead. She waved me off.
"It's alright. You can come in. She must have forgotten about you." She opened the door and I waited behind watching her go in.
"She must have forgotten about you." A voice repeated Mary's words in my head, and I could not help the pain that seared through me.
"Come in Lucas stop standing there like an idiot." Celine shouted looking past Mary to me. Mary turned back to glare at me in irritation.
I cleared my throat and walked in willing my heart to stop making things harder for me.
Mary looked back to her boss a little tense. Her hands shook slightly as she dropped the tray. "Ma'am please try to eat something." She said turning to leave.
"Thank you."
Mary nodded. She eyed me distastefully and closed the door behind her.
"Looks like you will have this morning off but I may leave by noon to the firm so. How are we going to do it. You leave to return later or you wait downstairs." She glanced at me and stood up.
I didn't reply. I didn't know what I wanted to, part of me wanted to stay back to be near her and part of me wanted to leave to clear my mind, to see Sydney and assure myself of my love for her. I did love her. I did miss her even though I had no idea where she was yesterday night. I just had to love her and no one else, just her.
I stood watching her, my lips opening and closing in the most embarrassing way ever. In the end I knew why my father used to say the right thing to be done is most times never the choice made.

She wanted now to focus on the present and also on her future just like the angel had said.He had told her he was who ever she wanted him to be and she had decided subconsciously that he was an angel because that's who she wanted him to be. Her Angel. Ada's POVThey shared a quick moment of silence before Ada replied."Thanks boo." She smiled breathing out. "I'll be in the garden." She tried to stand but her legs hit the chair causing her to almost fall in the process. Mr Adams hand rounded her waist preventing her from falling. His arms were firm and strong causing her heart to flutter. He reminded her of her angel. She cleared her throat and mumbled a "Thanks." "Are you sure you are OK, Ma?." Mr Adams asked very sure she was not. This was not his boss. His boss is not a happy woman and she never said boo or thanks. She must be drunk, yes she must be if not why will she fall. Yes she's drunk. That was the only explanation Adams could come up with. But she didn't smell of alcohol so maybe there was indeed another explanation."I'm fine dear." Ada chuckled, she couldn't wait to go outside so she could laugh out loud. She was final
