CHAPTER 5

Celine's POV

There was a knock on the door again. I hissed. I was getting fed up with all the check ups from my workers one more knock from them and I was sure that I was going to lose my mind.

"Come in." I groaned.

Mary my housekeeper came in looking much more exhausted than she usually looks.

"What is it again Mary?" I asked restraining myself from being disrespectful and doing so with a lot of strength.

"He's here. The doctor."

"Very good. Send him in." 

She nodded and Walked away. The Doctor came immediately she left just as I was done adjusting myself. He was an old friend.

"Celine." He laughed spreading his hands open. He never changes.

"You are well aware that I happen to be sick Richard." I blinked amazed with his cheerfulness.

"Sickness shouldn't stop you from hugging a friend Barrister Gloria Ob__

I opened my arms silencing him. "Alright. A hug then." He smiled embracing me tightly.

"You have a fever?"

"Yea."

 He inspected my eyes and my pulse and did some things with the stethoscope, Doctor things which I had no idea of.

"How are you feeling."

"Bad. I have. I have a terrible headache and I'm burning from the inside. I also vomited and it was really hard to though, my driver had to give me water. It felt like my whole body was a desert."

"You were wreathing?" He asked sitting down. "Sorry that must have been painful."

"Yea very. Just get me drugs." I exhaled closing my eyes. 

"I can't. I would have recommended but you need to go for a test. I need to be certain that I'm wrong about something's."

My face crunched. "What are you wrong about? What things?"

"When last did you. Did you see your period?" He coughed trying to hide his discomfort.

His eyes were locked in mine making me feel uncomfortable. I exhaled. I hate talking about my period to anyone who is not Adams be the person a Doctor or whatever but right now I did not have another choice in the matter.  

"I honestly cannot remember when. Should be. Last month. Maybe I don't know. Why?"

"Celine." He muttered taking my hand in his. "You may be pregnant." 

My breath stopped. Tears gathered in my eyes and started to fall in quick succession. I couldn't think or breathe. I held my stomach sobbing. "Adam." I sniffed. "Are you sure?"

"I'm not sure."

"Then let's be sure then." I mouthed unable to get the words out.

He nodded approvingly taking my hands in his to show support.

I wasn't strong enough to leave the room before but now,  with the hope of having a child a reminder of my beloved husband Adam, I was ready to expedite my last breath for this.

It would be a blessing to me to have his child but deep down I knew that it would make no difference. I would still love him and miss him. He will still be the only reason why I continue to live, the only reason.
