Chapter 4: Cassie's Birthday
Author: CizziThe days goes on and I try my best to give Cassie space. I watch her from a distance, ready to step in if anything is to happen. She has still not texted me, and when I see her in school, she is not making any attempt to talk to me. Most of the time she is on the other side of the classroom, as far away as possible. Did I really scare her to the point that she wants nothing to do with me?
Mark is becoming a pain, every moment he is around something happens. Either he pushes me, or he is slaying me off to his friends loud enough for me to hear. It bothers me, because I know how easily I could shut him up, but I take it, because I know that if I use my powers it may put Cassie in danger, besides this is nothing compared to the actual torture I have received in the past.
When Friday comes around, I am in a slight panic. I wish I would have had a chance to talk to Cassie and tell her what she is, but I do not want to force her, and she still has not texted me. It is Cassie’s birthday, she is turning 16 today, so there is a chance something supernatural may happen to her today.
In an attempt to keep a better eye on her, I have decided to skip school, as it is easier to follow her around in my bird form. That way she will not know that I am around, but I can flash or more correctly, teleport myself to her side in less than a second, should I need to.
I got her a present for her birthday. It is a talisman for protection, in the form of a necklace with her dad’s symbol on it. I thought it was a nice touch. It may seem a bit reckless giving that to her, but Nick’s symbol is not common knowledge. I can count on one hand the people or rather entities and demons that knows what it is and what it means and none of them would even dare to touch Cassie, as they are all loyal to Nick.
Halfway through the day I could tell that something is bothering Cassie, but I do not know what it is I cannot fly around inside the school without looking suspicious, so instead I am sitting by the window of Cassies next class. I was still waiting for her to turn up when I got a weird feeling that something is not right. I teleported myself to her side and realise that she is lying unconscious in the hallway. I could feel the panic coming on as I am not sure what caused her to become unconscious. I scan the area for anything that may be responsible, while preparing myself to fight whatever being that may have hurt her, but everything looks and feels normal.
Without thinking, I grab her in my arms and teleport us to my house. when I touch her, I got another electric shock as well as some flash backs of a memory in my head. It was too fast for me to see anything; I just felt a moment of belonging. But it was over so quickly that I am doubting myself that it even happened.
When I got to the house, I placed Cassie carefully on my bed and double checked that all the protecting spells are working, just in case someone is after her and has hurt her. I even add a few more protections just to be on the safe side. She can likely use all her powers and blow the whole house up and no one will be able to feel her energy.
After looking her over, I calm down a bit. Cassie does not seem to have any injuries and as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with her. There must be another explanation to why she is unconscious.
I grab a chair and position myself next to the bed, prepared to wait for as long as it takes for her to wake up. Luckily, I do not have to wait too long. After a moment, Cassie starts to stir. She clutches her head and mumbles something. I cannot make out what she is trying to tell me until she starts shouting for it to shut up. A second later she is unconscious again. I look around for anything that may have caused it, nothing should be able to get into the house without my knowledge. Despite this I send out my energy just to be sure, but I cannot sense anything unusual.
I am at a loss, she is clearly in pain, but I do not know what to do to help her. I have never felt this helpless, not even when I was stuck in the hell dimension. It got me thinking, Nick has the ability to read minds. Thinking back, he kept telling me that it felt like the whole world was screaming at him before he learned to control it. Maybe that is what is happening, but the necklace should protect her against it.
I looked down at Cassie again and realised that she is not wearing the necklace I gave her. I conjured it up and placed it around her neck, the second I do, her whole body seem to relax. A few minutes later, Cassie opens her eyes and jumps out of the bed and makes her way to the opposite side of the room from where I am standing.
“Where am I? How did I get there? What were you doing to me?”
I can feel the panic radiate from her. I try to send her calming energy, but it does not seem to work. No surprise there really, Nick is immune to most of my abilities, so why should his daughter be any different.
I tried to explain everything to Cassie, but I leave out the demon part, as most people have a negative view on us and think that we are all bad, and I do not want to scare Cassie away, especially not now when she finally hearing me out.
I am surprised with how calm she seems. I explained about the necklace and that it will protect her and help her to control her powers. She listens to me attentively, before she speaks up.
“Am I a witch? And what about my mum, is she still alive too?”
I do not know what to say. How is she not freaking out and how does she know about witches? I try to avoid the first question, as I know where it will lead, instead I concentrate on answering the second one.
“Your mother is dead, she died while trying to keep you safe and protect you from harm, which is why your dad, even though he loves you very much, decided to send you away.”
She looks at me hopefully, “Can I meet him?”
How do I tell her that he is in another realm and that she can not go there before she gets her full powers and he can not come here, as every supernatural within 50 mile radius will know that he is here, if he does. Sure, he could probably fight them all at the same time and win, but he will not risk it if there is even a small chance that anyone would find out about Cassie.
I settle for telling her a very edited part of the truth, repeating what I already told her.
“Your dad loves you very much, but he cannot risk anyone finding out that you are his daughter, so you cannot see him for now”.
There is a second of hurt in her eyes but then she collects herself and starts looking around for something. A moment later she reaches for her bag and gets her phone out.
“I really need to get back home before they start worrying about me. I’m not sure how I got here but would you mind getting me home?”
I am debating with myself whether I should just teleport her home, but she seem to finally trust me, well maybe she does not trust me yet, but at least she does not seem scared to be around me anymore. I do not want to make her scared again with mine, and at some point, hers, ability to move from one place to another in the blink of an eye so in the end I conjured up a car and tell her that I will drive her home.

His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 48: The Witch Village
Leah turned up a few hours later. She told us that they had decided that Mark and Set were going to stay at home as hopefully that would keep Abigail from becoming suspicious. That did mean that the wolves would have to look over Cassie without Mark, however he had already texted them and told them to meet us down at the cabin.
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 47: Remembering the past
I was enjoying my flight, knowing that Cassie was safe in my house with Leah protecting her. It made me feel less worried, especially after the defensive display of magic that Leah had manifested by instinct when we were sparring. I knew she still felt bad about it, but in all honesty, it was nothing. If I had been prepared for it, I would have been able to deflect it. My fighting skills go way beyond some elemental magic.

I teleported us back to the house, but when we got there the house was empty. I started to panic, but Leah told me to calm down. "The wolves would not have wanted to come inside." She said as she walked towards the back garden, I followed her outsi
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 45: Research
Cassie and I spent some time just being close to each other after the others had left. Having her remembering her past life helped, and she forgave me for not telling her that I am a demon. After living through Katie's life, she realised why I had been so reluctant in telling her. She also realised that I am different from other demons and that I would do anything for her.
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 44: Back to Reality
My consciousness slammed back into my body again. It took some time for me to realise that I was back with Cassie by my side. "We had a baby." I whispered quietly, mostly to myself. "A beautiful baby girl." Cassie turned to look at me. "It was you, it was always you, in my dreams. I wasn't sure, but it was actually you. It actually happened."
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 43: Time to say goodbye
Two days later the ceremony for Katie's passing was on its way. Katie's parents were reluctant for me to attend, as it had to be held in the temple, which was a place I was not allowed to visit. On the morning of Katie's ceremony, I was in the hospital, looking over our baby girl Leah, while awaiting confirmation about the situation. Katie's parents had told me that they understood my need to say a proper goodbye to Katie, so they were having a meeting with the elders to discuss the potential of allowing me into the temple this one time. After a lot of waiting, I finally got the word that I was allowed to attend, however little Leah was not allowed to leave the hospital, so I would ha
