Chapter 10: Bird view
CizziAfter Cassie and Leah drove away, I went back inside the house. I felt bad for not watching Cassie, but after the day I had had, I needed some time for myself. As I had not been sleeping much with everything that was going on, it was affecting my mood, so for everyone's sake, it was better that I got some sleep before I end up doing something stupid because I was too sleep deprived to control myself.
I got into bed, thinking I would sleep for a couple of hours and then go back to look over Cassie, however things did not happen that way. When I woke up, I realised that the sun was still out, but by how the light was shining in from the window, I could tell that it was morning. Looking at the time, I realised that I had already missed my first class. Without thinking, I sent Cassie a text telling her not to worry and that I just overslept but that I would see her in school in a bit. I was not sure why I texted her, as it was obvious that Cassie did not want to hang out with me at school.
After I had woken up a bit more and got out of the shower, I decided to just skip the rest of the school day. It just did not seem worth going in to school and risk running into Mark. I could handle Mark if it meant that I could spend time with Cassie, but she was avoiding me, and it was not like I needed the grades. The main reason why I was attending school in the first place, was to befriend Cassie and to keep an eye on her, however I could easily watch Cassie in my bird form. I sent her a quick text telling her I was not going to bother with school today just in case she actually cared.
I flew over to the school and spent the rest of the school day in various windows, watching Cassie from afar. When school finished, I followed Cassie and Leah home and made myself comfortable in the tree, so I could keep an eye on Cassie. I felt bad that I had slept though a whole night, without watching over Cassie but luckily nothing bad had happened, and she was fine.
The next morning as I watched Cassie and Leah get into the car, I thought about going to school, but I realised that I could not be bothered. It was easier to watch Cassie from afar. Especially as it was painful for me to be near Cassie while knowing that she was avoiding me, but not really understanding why.
I spent the day following Cassie around from a distance, the same as I had done the previous day. After I had been sitting in the tree at Cassie's for a while, I felt the need to check my phone. Cassie was the only one that had my number, but I had not talked to her for two days.
I left the tree in search of a deserted area, where I could transform back to my human from without anyone noticing the transformation. When I was done, I checked my phone, somehow, I had unconsciously picked up on the fact that Cassie had sent me a text.
As I opened the text and read it, I laughed to myself, her text mentioned that she thought she was being followed by an evil black bird. I realised that she must have seen me following her for the last two days, even though I thought I was being inconspicuous.
I texted Cassie back and asked her to come outside, I guess the time had come for me to show her another one of my abilities. In all honesty, of everything I could do, being able to turn into a bird was my favourite ability. I hoped that revealing that I was the 'evil black bird' would put Cassie at easy, however I had no clue how she would react.
I turned back into my bird form and watched Cassie as she left the house. After following her for a while, I made sure that no one else was around to see before I flew down to the ground in front of her and as she stopped, I transformed back into my human from right before her eyes. I could hear her gasp and as I tried to catch my breath, she threw herself at me and gave me a hug. The electric shock vibrates inside of me and for a moment everything felt right, and I knew that me and Cassie was meant to be together. Before I had recovered from the shock, Cassie shoved me away. She seemed angry.
"You could have told me that you were a shape shifter"
I looked down at her. I could not help but smile a little, of course she was going to assume that I was a shifter.
"Technically I'm not a shifter"
Cassie seemed to have got over her anger and instead I could hear relief in her voice.
"Well you had me thinking I was being stalked by something evil for the last two days"
"I'm sorry, but you made it fairly clear that you didn't want to see me at school, so I thought I would give you space and just make sure that you were okay from afar"
Cassie stayed silent and our eyes met. After a while she started talking again, she sounded very frustrated.
"That is not at all what I want"
All these mind games were slowly getting to me. I had no idea what was going on or what Cassie actually wanted. I was becoming annoyed and the anger could be heard in my voice.
"Then what did you want? Because, minus coming to my house the other day you have been avoiding me"
Cassie looked at me and I could see how she was struggling not to cry as her eyes had gone all glossy.
"It's complicated, I'll explain it later. I need to get home before they wonder where I am. Meet me back here in an hour or two, and we can go to your house and talk"
I gave her an understanding nod.
"I'll be here"
I watched her turn around and start walking back to the house. There was no way that I would let her out of my sight, especially not when she seemed that upset. Even if she hated me, I would still keep my promise to Nick, however it was not just about the promise I made to Nick any more. I knew that if something were to happen to Cassie, my heart would not be able to handle it.
Instead of waiting for her in my human form, I decided to get back into a bird. I caught up with her and position myself on her shoulder. I was a bit worried how she would react, but she did not tell me off. Maybe she even thought that it was a bit cute, or maybe it was just me failing miserable at being romantic. When she reached the house, I flew up to the tree and made myself comfortable. I guess I would have to wait a bit longer to find out what was going on, but I was happy to have the old Cassie back, the one that actually talked to me.

His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 48: The Witch Village
Leah turned up a few hours later. She told us that they had decided that Mark and Set were going to stay at home as hopefully that would keep Abigail from becoming suspicious. That did mean that the wolves would have to look over Cassie without Mark, however he had already texted them and told them to meet us down at the cabin.
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 47: Remembering the past
I was enjoying my flight, knowing that Cassie was safe in my house with Leah protecting her. It made me feel less worried, especially after the defensive display of magic that Leah had manifested by instinct when we were sparring. I knew she still felt bad about it, but in all honesty, it was nothing. If I had been prepared for it, I would have been able to deflect it. My fighting skills go way beyond some elemental magic.
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 46: A werewolves Alliance
I teleported us back to the house, but when we got there the house was empty. I started to panic, but Leah told me to calm down. "The wolves would not have wanted to come inside." She said as she walked towards the back garden, I followed her outsi
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 45: Research
Cassie and I spent some time just being close to each other after the others had left. Having her remembering her past life helped, and she forgave me for not telling her that I am a demon. After living through Katie's life, she realised why I had been so reluctant in telling her. She also realised that I am different from other demons and that I would do anything for her.
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 44: Back to Reality
My consciousness slammed back into my body again. It took some time for me to realise that I was back with Cassie by my side. "We had a baby." I whispered quietly, mostly to myself. "A beautiful baby girl." Cassie turned to look at me. "It was you, it was always you, in my dreams. I wasn't sure, but it was actually you. It actually happened."
His Daughter's Saviour Chapter 43: Time to say goodbye
Two days later the ceremony for Katie's passing was on its way. Katie's parents were reluctant for me to attend, as it had to be held in the temple, which was a place I was not allowed to visit. On the morning of Katie's ceremony, I was in the hospital, looking over our baby girl Leah, while awaiting confirmation about the situation. Katie's parents had told me that they understood my need to say a proper goodbye to Katie, so they were having a meeting with the elders to discuss the potential of allowing me into the temple this one time. After a lot of waiting, I finally got the word that I was allowed to attend, however little Leah was not allowed to leave the hospital, so I would ha
