Blake watched until Jessica had walked out of earshot before turning to Lady Cecilia, “Mother, upon attending this event, did you really think I knew nothing at all?”

“The things that you and Lady Jackson are thinking and plotting, did you really think I couldn’t see any of it?”

First, it was arranging to have Kim come and tutor Winson privately, and now an invitation to the Jackson’s birthday banquet? It’s basically equivalent to sending a signal to everyone outside the family.

Had he not said any of this today, the fact that Kim Jackson would have been Mrs. Ferguson instead of Jessica Scott would have become reality.
