“Jessica, I thought you always wanted to attend such events.”

As Jessica looked at him calmly, her eyes were as tranquil as a quiet lake. She had never attended one before, and she really wanted to. She believed that as husband and wife, they should stand together and share a common goal.

However, their marriage started off under difficult circumstances. She would really be naive if she thought he would be by her side.

Jessica pushed his hand away and sighed as she signed, “I thought you said I’ll only embarrass you if I attend such events.”

Blake found her words difficult to accept and she knew it. Nevertheless, he was meeting her halfway and allowing her to attend this time, so why must she throw a temper now?

Blake said sourly, “You will go when I tell you to. I’ll settle the dress for you.”

Then, before she could react, he stomped out of the room grumpily.

It suddenly felt like he was begging her to go. He decided to meet her halfway, yet she was taking advantage of him and going over the top.

On the second morning, Janice from the secretary department sent over a bunch of dresses and she got the ‘sacred order’ from the boss to dress Mrs. Ferguson up.

Jessica had never been to the Fergusons’ and it was Janice’s first time meeting the rumored Mrs. Ferguson. Curious, Janice constantly peeked at Jessica.

Janice did not want to be this sneaky while sizing Mrs. Ferguson up either, but Mr. Ferguson was a strict boss and no one in the company even dared to talk loudly in front of him.

Having joined the company for a few years now, Janice was considered a senior, and she had heard rumors about the marriage that had seized headlines back then. Therefore, she was even more curious about this mysterious Mrs. Ferguson.

Mrs. Ferguon was beautiful. At first glance, she was not exactly stunning, but she would definitely leave an impression and turn heads wherever she went.

However, was she really mute?

Fortunately, Janice was a smart girl. Given that she was able to join the company and be placed in the secretary department that worked for the CEO, she was not the average blonde girl. Even if she was curious, she did not express her thoughts with questions.

As for Jessica, she felt nervous because it was her first time appearing in front of Blake’s subordinate. It was rather ironic that the CEO’s wife would be afraid of seeing her husband’s subordinate.

Jessica smiled softly at Janice and forced herself to stay calm. She walked to the rack of dresses and started browsing through them.

Some of the dresses were bold while some were elegant. There were short skirts, long dresses, and many other selections.

Janice stood beside her and furrowed her brows, appearing troubled. Her boss had given her an order, and she had already done her best to meet his expectations. She had contacted all the fashion designers who had working relationships with the Ferguson Corporation and told them to bring the best gowns and dresses over.

Since she had never seen Mrs. Ferguson before, she did not know what would be suitable for the lady.

Jessica simply browsed through the dresses. Many of them were decent, but she ultimately chose a light blue dress. It was elegant and conservative, and it was the perfect compliment to her fair skin.

Just when she wanted to take it into her room to change, Blake came out from the study and saw the dress in her hand. He grabbed it, sized it up, and moved it closer to her shoulder, measuring it against her body.

Although she had not put the dress on yet, he already knew how she would look in it.

The dress was designed to be simple and elegant with the shoulder being the highlight of the whole outfit. If the lady had beautiful collar bones, the dress would turn her into the attraction of the night.

Blake mercilessly tossed the dress away and took another white qipao for her. “Wear this.”

Jessica looked at the qipao that was made from brocade fabric with the chest area covered with a piece of translucent organza fabric. On top of it, snowy embroidery was sewn on it and the button was sewn in the shape of a red blossom. It was simple but not plain. In other words, it was actually elegant to look at.

Jessica did not have any opinion about the dress, so she took it to her room and changed.

After all, whatever she said in front of the tyrant was useless. She would have to accept his arrangement in the end.

Janice, who stood beside them, attentively knew what was going on. She realized that her boss was a stingy man. Mrs. Ferguson had a fine body, yet he did not want to show any of it to the public.

Jessica got changed into the qipao, but Blake’s gaze on her felt strange. She glanced at herself curiously.

The qipao was designed to be simple, but it was also a dress that would bring out the wearer’s silhouette. Therefore. Many women had their qipao custom made to fit their bodies. Tailored qipaos were no joke as every detail had to be meticulously measured, including the part that had to be loose or fitting. Every single detail must be taken into consideration.

Janice was in awe when Jessica came out. She realized that her boss had a sharp eye for fashion. How did he know that the qipao would fit Mrs. Ferguson’s body so well?

“Mrs. Ferguson, the qipao really looks beautiful on you,” Janice praised, actually trying to flatter Jessica.

Jessica pinched her waist. She realized that the waist part was a little loose, and it would be better if it could be tightened a little.

She had a perfect body ratio. She might not be tall or have long legs, but when she put on the qipao and the heels, it made her legs appear long.

One had to give it to Blake to be able to spot what would enhance Jessica’s features.

Jessica realized that all the women who attended public events with Blake were hot and beautiful. Maybe it was his experience that made him such an expert.

Janice brought the sewing pack over and started to work on the waist of Jessica’s qipao. “Mrs. Ferguson, I’ll sew it tighter for you.”

As a smart secretary, Janice had to improvise in all kinds of situations. She was more than able to solve such a tiny problem. Otherwise, her boss would not have called her over.

She sneakily put her hands around Jessica’s waist and realized that it was the perfect 24-inch waist that every man dreamt of.

After Jessica put on some makeup, little Winson’s jaw dropped when he saw his mother come out. He pointed at his mother and tugged at his father’s pants while saying, “Papa, fairy!”
