Chapter 59

Blake tossed the phone back to Jessica and said coldly, “If you simply edit my face again, you will feel my wrath! Get down from the car!”

Jessica quickly carried Winson down, barely escaping Blake’s fury.

Miss Susan had the bird’s nest ready, and she served it to Jessica when she came in.

After Jessica put Winson back in the nursery, she came out for the bird’s nest and bumped into Blake who had just parked the car. She was frightened as if she had just seen a ghost, so she quickly ran back to her room.

She had bearded the lion in his den and dared not come out and be an eyesore to the lion anymore.

Even during dinner, Jessica did not come out as she said she was full.

Blake had dinner alone, but he did not look annoyed. His lips were even curled into a soft grin.

After a bath, Jessica sat in front of her laptop and started transferring the pictures from her phone as usual. When she got to the picture of Blake and Winson, she clicked on it to zoom in.

It was Winson’s first outing with his father and mother together.

Jessica curled her lips and was satisfied with how the day had turned out. She was grateful that she was able to witness this day with her own eyes. She wondered if Winson would remember today when he grew older.

She propped her chin on her hand and stared at the pictures blankly.

While she was spacing out, her door was slowly opened.

Blake leaned on the entrance and looked at Jessica. From his angle, he was able to see Jessica’s back and half of her laptop screen.

What was so attractive about the picture of him and Winson?

With a grin, he took his phone out and opened the picture in his gallery.

The picture he opened was of the woman standing straight with a blue watery reflection on her face. The colorful fishes that swam behind her formed a fitting background. She looked out of this world while her presence felt lively.

For whatever reason, when Jessica had spaced out back at the aquarium, Blake had snapped a picture of her.

He had always been a person of few expressions and barely showed any emotions on his face. Who would have thought that he liked taking pictures of Jessica behind her back?

Was she not afraid of him? Why would she take his picture and even edit it?

The moment he had seen his edited picture, he was really furious, but when he recalled the scene during his bath, he somehow smiled.

Now looking at her back, his lips unconsciously curled up again. However, he soon realized that he was smiling and he quickly erased the grin.

He found it lame, but whether it was the person that he had snapped a picture of or his action of taking a picture behind the person’s back, no one knew what he was thinking about.

His finger moved to the ‘delete’ icon, but just before he pressed it, he hesitated again. In the end, he decided to keep her picture.

Blake had no idea that it was this single second of hesitation, which made him keep the picture, would change his life in the upcoming years. He hated the woman in the picture to his core, yet he had helplessly fallen in love with her.

He never wanted to see her again in his life, but at the same time, he searched for her in every corner of the world.

Blake pocketed his phone.

Jessica heard footsteps behind her, so she turned around and saw the man saunter in.

He had just taken his bath and was dressed in his sleeping robe. His hair was still wet, and one of his hands was in his pocket while the other was holding his phone.

Jessica looked at him. Just when she wanted to get a towel for him to dry his hair, Blake took his hand out and tossed the invitation card onto the desk.

She looked at the invitation card on the table. The golden stamp on the card reminded her that it was the invitation that Kim had sent over earlier.

She was usually in charge of dressing Blake up for dinner and events, so when she saw the invitation card, she knew that he wanted to go. She lifted her hands and signed, “I’ll go prepare your clothes later.”

She instinctively thought that she was not required to attend the party as well since it had always been like that, so her force of habit kicked in.

She then stood up and wanted to grab a towel from the bathroom, but her arm was held by a strong grip.

Immediately, she turned around to him, wondering what else he wanted to tell her.

As Blake looked into her big, clear eyes, the words were somehow stuck in his throat. He had never said something like this to her before.

Jessica did not know what he wanted to do, and she could not speak or escape his grip. Was he trying to punish her for editing his picture into an evil witch? Then again, he had already scolded her earlier.

Jessica innocently stared at him and then at his hand. Blake furrowed his brows for a moment before he released her.

He said, “Just get me a towel to dry my hair.” He sounded like he was talking to himself and brushing her off at the same time.

Jessica glanced at him before she headed to the bathroom for the towel in a sour mood. He had always been a strange guy, and no one really knew what he was thinking about.

She was done playing the guessing game either. When she came back with the towel, Blake was already sitting at her desk and his hand was moving the mouse as he scrolled through the pictures.

He looked like he was quite satisfied with the pictures.
