Chapter 6

Javier's POV 

I made an offer that I was sure she won't refuse. I know I was ruthless about it but what could I do I was really desperate here. When I called her later in the evening I had a feeling she won't refuse my offer. I don't know what I will do if she doesn't accept my offer, I don't even have a plan B. 

I was able to get some work done today because Lucy was with my brother Joseph. I was very wary of leaving her with Joseph but I didn't have a choice. The last time Lucy stayed with Joseph for a day, he fed her enough chocolates that will last her a lifetime. I swear Joseph was meant to be a girl, I don't know anyone that loves chocolate and ice cream as much as Joseph does. 

I was actually right to be wary of Joseph and his sweets. I went to get her after work and just as I expected my baby was covered with chocolates, it looked like a chocolate monster invaded Joseph's counter.

"Dada" Lucy called the moment she saw me.

I couldn’t help but smile at her words. I am still in awe of her calling me that.

"How is my favorite girl doing?" I asked smiling at her but she wasn't even facing me again.

"She is doing just fine as you can see. I mean she is with her favorite uncle" I rolled my eyes.

Meet my brother Joseph.

"You really shouldn't feed her so much chocolates"

"Chocolates are good for the body, right champ?" He was asking Lucy but she wasn't even paying any attention to us.

"You got a nanny yet?" He asked me while tearing into a chocolate bar.

I shook my head "I think I might have found one, I just need her to say yes to my offer." I told him.

"You mean the one that managed to keep her quiet that day?" He asked. Yes, I told Joseph about her. I swear that guy can make you tell him anything.

He always know the right buttons to push to get you to talk.

"Yes, that one" I replied

"She will surely take the offer, nobody can say no to the offer you made." He said. 

I nodded "I know Joseph but we can't be too sure right? What if she decides not to take it?"

That really scares me because I don’t think I will be able to get any work done if I keep taking Lucy to the office.

"Then you have to take Lucy everywhere you go. Simple." The idiot was mocking me.

He had to point out my fear right now.

"That wasn't funny Joseph" I replied and he still laughed anyway

"Are you going to spend the night here?" He asked

"Why will I spend the night here?" I asked him

"I don't know. Maybe because you are still here chatting with me. Which I know you won't do naturally" He observed.

"Just shut up Joseph" I replied

He shrugged "It is a good thing that you are here. Just take that little champ home and give her a long and warm bath, she really needs it" He said looking at Lucy who was busy stuffing her face with chocolate.

"Why should I be the one to bath her? You fed her the chocolates" I said

"I am not ready to get soaked from heard to toe." He said

"And you claim to be her favorite uncle"

"I am her only uncle" he stated

"Whatever" I carried Lucy and made my way to the door "Say bye to JoJo"I said to Lucy 

" Vi JoJo " she said or babbled

"Bye Champ and please give daddy dearest here a hard time for me.” He said 

I scoffed "Goodnight Joseph and thanks for today"

"Anytime big brother" he replied

After a very long bath. I wore her PJ mask pyjamas for her and put her to bed. I took a shower myself and changed to my PJ pants. I turned off the light and went to bed making sure that the baby monitor was on.

Tomorrow is another day, I just hope Miss Brooks accept my offer
