Chapter 7

Melissa's POV 

I woke up this morning feeling good about myself. I don't know why though. Maybe because I finally told Ben off or because I might see Lucy again today. I wasn't kidding when I said I was already attached to her.I practically skipped to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth and taking a shower I decide to order pizza. 

I can afford to order pizza now.

I don't have to calculate how much I could save if I decide to take cereals instead of pizza. Oh the joy of knowing you will soon be rich. I laughed at that thought and Molly looked at me as if I had grown two heads

"I know it is weird for you to see me this happy in the morning but I just can't explain how happy I am to you, Molly" I said beaming at her.

My pizza arrived forty minutes after ordering it. I swear they need to do something about that slow delivery or what do you think? I placed a slice of pizza in Molly bowl.

"Bon appetit Molly" In case you were wondering I don't understand French but I do know how to say my name in French and of course Bon appetit too

Don't blame me, I just don't have the energy to learn any other thing apart from those. I might have graduated with straight A's in college but I swear my brain practically shuts down when it comes to linguistic.

I didn't know what to do again after eating and I don't want to call Mr hot stuff yet. I don't want to look too eager, I mean it was just 12 in the afternoon. So I decided to start packing my things. I won't be staying here anymore after today right? Or am I going to move immediately. Any which way. I started from my clothes. After packing and sealing the boxes of cloth,I decided to pack my books. I don't have much books so it occupied just one box. 

How the hell am I going to pack my shoes? Those damn thing occupy a whole room in this damn apartment. Ben's apartment isn't that bad,it had two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and of course bathroom and toilet. And my pretty heels occupied one room. Don't ask me how many pairs I own. I don't know myself, I just can't stop myself from buying them and they piled up without me even realizing it.

Exactly 1pm I dialed Edwards number and he answered on second ring. He must have been waiting for my call.

"Miss Brooks" he said. I will take that as his way of greeting 

"Mr Edwards" I replied

"Your call only means that you have made your decision" he said

"Yes sir. I have decided to accept your offer" I said as coolly as I could.

"Good Miss Brooks, you made the right decision" he said

"Okay, so when can I start?" I asked him calmly trying not to sound too eager

"Today, if that is okay with you. In the meantime I will send some people over to help you park your things and my driver will drive you to my house." He said

"That is fine" I replied

"You can use the rest of the day to get settled and you can start working by tomorrow" he said

"Good and umm... About the payment?" I asked him. I can't move out of this apartment without paying Ben right?

"Forward your account details to me and you will get your full payment immediately" he said. I was shocked, I expected half payment but he will be giving me full.

"Okay sir. I will be sure to do that" I replied

"Good. See you later Miss Brooks." He said and hung up before I could even reply.

What is with him and ending calls? The last time I checked I was the one that called right? Fucking rich people

I forwarded my account details to him after he ended the call so rudely. I changed into something presentable in case the movers shows up early. 

"I guess we are moving now, Molly" I said to Molly and that was when I remembered, I didn't ask him if it was okay to bring Molly. I grabbed my phone to dial his number and I noticed that he had transferred the money already. He sent five hundred, five hundred fucking thousands dollars. That is huge even after paying my debts I will still have enough I transferred Ben's money to him  immediately, I even cleared my phone bill and electricity bills. You are a free human being now Melissa, no more debts.

I was on the brink of dancing around the living room when I heard a knock on my door.

"Just a minute " I said and rushed to open the door. Guess who was by the door..... Bingo and we have a winner.

You guessed right. Ben.

"How can I help you Ben?" I asked smugly. You know that joy of knowing you don't owe someone a dime anymore.

"You paid?" He asked surprised

"Shocker right? But I told you I would, why did you doubt me Old Ben?" I replied

He eyed me warily"How did you get the money so fast?" He asked

I scoffed"That is non of your business Ben dearest. You should just be happy you got your money"

He laughed humorlessly "Did you sell your body to the highest bidder? Is that how you made the money? I should have known that you were a slut, you always act so righteo..."

"Stop right there You old fool, I kept quiet all this while because I didn't want to disrespect you but watch it I won't have you insulting me that way." I said smiling at him

He scoffed "Next time I won't be giving you extra time to pay your bills" he warned and I laughed

"Don't worry yourself Ben dearest, they won't be a next time. As we speak now my movers are here to help me pack my things out of your shitty  apartment." I told him. I could kiss those movers ass they came just at the right time.

"You will regret this Melissa, you will regret not giving yourself to me." He warned

"I am so scared" I said sarcastically

"You should be" he replied

"Oh hush Ben and scoot let those people get to work" I said and directed the movers inside. He stomped off angrily. 

It dawned on me that I never mentioned where I lived to Mr Edwards.
