am2_3 Chapter 9 Involuntary Actions

Suzy frowned slightly as she softly bit her red lips. Fletcher felt a great sense of satisfaction when he saw her reaction. It seemed like he had succeeded in taking revenge on her. Although his heart was filled with hatred, he could not deny how excited his body felt right now.

Suzy looked at the man on top of her. Her face was pale now. After a while, he let out a satisfactory sound. At last, Suzy gradually started to relax her tense body.

Fletcher then looked at her with contempt, just like he would look at a prostitute. He grabbed a cheque and threw it on her face. “Just write whatever amount you want!”

Suzy gritted her teeth tightly and snatched up the cheque. In that instant, she wanted so badly to just crush it in her hand and throw it at Fletcher’s feet. She even wanted to tell him that she did not care for that.

But the thought of Ronald’s sickness made her decide against it. Instead, she held the cheque tightly in her hand.

Fletcher’s cold expression twisted slightly. In fact, no woman had ever dared to act so recklessly in front of him, except her. She was the woman who had made him so miserable for the past five years. He would definitely get his revenge.

Pretending to be strong, Suzy gathered up the dresses and left the room. Tears fell down her cheeks the minute she closed the door behind her.

‘Suzy, you cannot cry!’ she scolded herself, furiously wiping her tears away.

“Suzy!” Yvonne’s sharp and angry voice was heard again. It almost crushed Suzy.

Yvonne walked over to her and raised her hand to deliver a slap. Suzy managed to stop her action just in time, grabbing her hand and stopping it in midair.

“If you’re ever rude to me again, I’ll go and talk to Lawrence. I’ll tell him that I want to be his woman!” said Suzy, speaking each and every word clearly. She fearlessly met the arrogant woman’s gaze.

Yvonne was so frustrated that it took her a long time to finally retort, “How shameful! Do you think that Lawrence likes you? Don’t be ridiculous!”

“I’m still better than you. I didn’t go after him like you did.”

Suzy looked at her sternly. Yvonne always tried to annoy and humiliate her. If it wasn’t for Ronald and his illness, she definitely would have resigned a long time ago.

“Suzy, you’re fired! Get lost now!” shouted Yvonne angrily.

“Hmm! You’ve no right to fire me!”

Suzy did not even bother about Yvonne’s threat.

“If I tell the reporters that the famous and friendly Yvonne got jealous of her assistant because of a man, you’ll surely make headlines tomorrow,” she said fearlessly.

She started at Yvonne coldly, who was now so angry that she could not even retort. ‘It’s so easy dealing with a stupid woman like you,’ she thought.

“Here are the dresses. Go carry them to the car yourself!”

Suzy shoved the dresses at Yvonne and turned to leave.

Yvonne called after her angrily, “Suzy, come back now!”

“Sorry, I’m off duty now. I’m not under any obligation to go back!”

She’d had enough of Yvonne’s sneers and bad temper.

All kinds of thoughts spun around in Suzy’s mind as she walked down the street. It seemed like everything was a mess, and she just could not calm down. Above all, she did not understand the reason why Fletcher was treating her so badly. In fact, she didn't even know him, but he always made her miserable. He even did that kind of horrible thing to her.

Moreover, what about Lawrence? Was he the man from five years ago? But, she could not ask him directly.

At that moment, she received a call.

“Hello, is this Ronald’s mother? We’re calling from the hospital. The balance in Ronald’s account is insufficient. Please pay the fee immediately!”
