Very early the next morning, Josie got off from her bed and went to the mirror to check herself. Just then, she remembered her phone and she rushed to pick it hurriedly expecting a missed call but to her disappointment, there was none. "I guess he didn't come back home after all."Removing her night gown, she changed into a white camisole and a very short blue Jean. On days like that, she was fond of doing her laundry and tending to her flower pots before preparing for work. Packing her clothes from the laundry basket, she stuffed them into the washing machine and pressed the machine to start working while she walked to the kitchen and came out with a watering can. Filling the watering can with water, she picked her phone and earpiece as she began to play her favourite music. Nodding her head to the beat of the song and lip singing, she placed her phone in the pocket of her blue shorts, picked up the watering can and ope

Welcome party. The party started after the workers of Roosevelt Kitchen finished the day's work. They all saw it as a time to enjoy themselves and forget about work. The three newbies were asked to introduce themselves and tell their seniors what they liked doing and every funny thing about them. They were also asked to sing, dance and drink. The three newbies did what they were asked to do and Asher was the funniest. He had never done something like that before and it was like he was used to it already. He got tired after singing and dancing. Refusing to drink, he was asked to sit down while the other two newbies were asked to do some other things. After watching them for a while, Josie stood up."I thought you said you weren't going to come." Isabella teased her."Are you just seeing me now? You had better not drink much tonight and go home early.""Yes, ma'am!" She saluted and smi

Hernandez Group's InaugurationHernandez Group's inauguration ceremony was set to last for five days and a general celebration dinner with shareholders and stakeholders of the group was the last event scheduled to round up the ceremony. Roosevelt kitchen was asked to take care of the catering service for the first and last day while Maria's was asked to take care of the second to fourth day. On the first day, the whole employees of Roosevelt kitchen were extremely busy and no one was spared any duty. After serving the guests, Isabella and Rose went into the room they were given and crashed. "Ah!" Isabella exclaimed. "At first, I was jealous that Maria would be catering for three days while we get to do ours for two days, but I never thought the first day would require a lot of work.""We're done for!" Rose exclaimed. "I feel like dying! My legs hurt so much. I hardly rest for a minute before I'm being ca

Hernandez Group. Sitting in his office, Chazz signed the document Rachel brought to him. "When is today's inaugural lecture starting?" He asked her. "12pm." She replied."Alright. For the dinner at the end of the inauguration, invite Chairman Finn's daughter.""Eh? Do you think she'll come?""If she doesn't, I care less. It's just an excuse to cover up for the date I missed. Mother is upset I wasted her effort, so I told her I'd invite her for the dinner. So invite her.""Yes, President." She bowed. Chazz continued with what he was signing. Just then, he remembered Josie and thought about the first time they met and how they had swapped phones. He smiled and then thought about the previous day when she was looking for him at the underground parking lot. He smiled and remembered her name as he had seen it on the name tag she wore. "Josie Maran." He

Hernandez Group's dinner. Mason gathered his juniors together and stared at them for a few seconds before clearing his throat. "Listen well, this is the last day of Hernandez Group's inauguration ceremony. Nothing, I repeat, nothing must go wrong. This is a dinner involving all of Hernandez Group's major shareholders and stakeholders. Do a good job by behaving yourself! Josie, Isabella, Frederick, you're working with Ruby's team. Make sure there are no empty champagne glasses. Always check the guests and refill their glasses.""Yes, senior!" The three of them echoed. "The rest of you are joining Chris' team. They're in charge of the desserts. Make sure you do as you're told.""Yes, senior!"“That will be all for now.” He told them and was about leaving when he suddenly turned back. "And if I hear that anyone is missing again this time around. . ." He paused as he looked at them one by

"I'm home!" Josie removed her shoes and arranged them beside the other shoes at the entrance of the house before stepping in. "Sister!" Drake Luth called happily as he rushed to meet her. She paused immediately she saw him. "Hey, Drake, what are you still doing here?!" She walked in and dropped her bag on the chair. "Mum! Mum!"Her mother came out with a tray. "You're here?""Mum, how many times do I have to tell you not to allow Drake stay here?""There's nothing wrong with that. He's still a small boy.""He's a small boy, but it's getting too frequent. Don't they get worried at his house? I mean how can they not be worried when their seven years old son is missing.""He's not missing. He's here.""Seriously, I don't understand his parent. Hey, Drake!!""Yes, sister.""What do you tell them at home when

Hernandez's House. Rita sat at the edge of her bed as she held her phone in anticipation. She stood up and paced round the room. Just then, a call came in. "What happened?" She talked quickly. "Why didn't you contact me since morning?""Don't get your hopes too high." came the caller's voice. "What are you saying?" She asked. "I'm not sure, but I think this search is leading me somewhere." He replied. "What do you mean?""Like I said, I'm not sure, but I'm trying to put the pieces of what I'm finding out together. But still, don't get your hopes too high. It might not be what you expect.""Just make it snappy already. I don't want mother to think I'm taking it slowly. You know how long she had to wait. It mustn't go beyond this year.""Rita." He called softly. "What is it?""Are you fin

Hernandez Group. Chazz sat in his office as thoughts of Josie flashed through his memory. When he thought about the dinner, he couldn't help but smile. Jodie Finn was right. He was actually looking at Josie. Just then he thought about what Jodie Finn told him. Flashback. ". . .what if I tell you that you were not the only guy staring so intently at her? What if I were to tell you there was also someone else that noticed how pretty she was, what would you do?"Present"Who could it be?" He asked himself. Picking up his phone, he dialed Rachel's number. He was about calling her when he stopped. "I can't involve her."Standing up, he walked out of his office to the secretary's office. Looking round, he could only see Lilian Morgan. Seeing him, Lilian stood up immediately and greeted him. "Uhn. Rachel Lakes, where is she?" He asked. "She was cal

Roosevelt Kitchen."One, two, three, go!" Isabella exclaimed. Immediately she shouted, Josie and Rose started chopping ingredients with full speed. "Go Josie, go Rose, go Josie, go Rose." They all cheered as they anticipated the first person to finish up. "It's obvious who the winner is going to be." Frederick whispered. "Who?" Asher asked. "Who else?" Isabella asked. Just then, Josie finished up and slammed the knife on the chopping board. "I won!" She exclaimed as she raised her hand in victory. "Josie Maran! Josie Maran! Josie Maran!""It's unfair!" Rose exclaimed. "How can you pair me up with Josie.""You agreed to compete with her." Mason pointed out. "Ah, senior! It's not like we're all better than her. Aishhh, she's just too fast. Her hand just goes pa pa pa pa on the chopping board like she was born to be a chef.""Oh my, is that a compliment?"

A week to the competition. While practicing in the practice room, Mason stepped out for a short while and immediately he did, Asher walked in to meet her. Josie was surprised to see him there and she stopped what she was doing and turned to face him. "What are you doing here?" She asked smiling. "What do you mean? Can't I come here to look at you?""Uhn. You can't.""Hey! Is the competition really important to you? For the past three weeks, you've been treating me like we're not dating.""Hey! What are you saying! Are you saying I don't have your time?""I'm not saying that. We've not gone on another date after that day, and it's been three weeks already. You don't even look like someone who is dating. And I've come here to make that clear.""How?""Ring!" He told her and raised a ring case up. "I didn't give you a ring when I asked you out, so here it is. You're too popular with guys, this should keep them off." He t
