I rouse quickly, taking a deep breath to satisfy my burning lungs. I notice my body is soaked in sweat as if I spent hours in a sauna. I’m too afraid to close my eyes again, so I take slow deep breaths, in and out,  attempting to calm my racing heart. When I finally feel like myself, I realize it was all a dream. I search the room, looking for any sign that it was real, but all I find is Paisley’s blanket and the note, still tight in my grasp. 

My spirit travels through a tunnel of stars as if I’m racing through outer space, but then it suddenly stops. I’m dropped down on my back into an empty field of green grass. I lay there for a moment, inhaling the aroma of freshly grown flowers that remind me of spring while the sun beams down on my face.

After shifting into my wolf, I am overcome with a sense of freedom. My body and mind finally feel complete as both sides of my being, witch, and wolf, are finally together, but I’ll have to enjoy this feeling later. My wolf releases a ferocious growl as she stalks towards Amelia and Paul. ‘As
