Chapter 1

7 Years Later..."Mom I'll be fine. I am only 30 minutes away." I said as my mom wrapped me in a tight hug for the hundredth time in just an hour. "I know but I am going to miss you so much." She cried into my shoulder her embrace somehow becoming tighter where I couldn't breathe. "Can't breathe." I choked out. "Bella you can let her go now." My dad said reaching for my mom and prying her off of me. "I'm sorry." She wiped her cheeks and took a step away from me into my fathers embrace. I smiled watching as my dad kissed my moms cheek. My parents were definitely relationship goals. My father, Nicola Rossi, met my mom when he was 28 at a beach in Italy and she later became a cook at his house. My mother, Danielle Rossi, always says she didn't fall for him so easily but I don't believe it. Now 21 years later they are still very happy and just like teenagers all over each other, sometimes worse than teenagers. It can be very gross to see. "Carmen remember no boys are allowed here

Chapter 2

Standing in front of me was none other than my brother and his best friend. I was hoping to not run into them until later but it seemed someone hated me above. Don't get me wrong I love my brother but Andrew is another story ... well I actually love him too. I guess one thing I should tell you is that I am secretly in love with my brothers best friend. Yep you heard that right. By secretly I mean only Mia knows and no one else, not even Amelia knows. Falling in love with your brothers best friend is honestly the worst thing that can ever happen. Yes a part of it is if my brother found out he would be pissed. But the other part is having to see him every single day and each day falling harder. It is knowing that he will never know how you feel and won't reciprocate the same feelings. The moment I stopped thinking of Andrew as just a friend was the beginning of Sophomore year in High School. He had spent a 3 months away with his family in Europe exploring and I hadn't seen him at all

Chapter 3

I jerked awake at the sound of my cell phone ringing. Sitting up and rubbing my eyes I noticed I was still on the couch and the TV was still on. Groaning I reached for my phone knowing who was calling me. "Yes?" I asked my voice thick with sleep. "Hey Carmerrr." Mia slurred on the other side of the phone. "Mia you're drunk." I closed my eyes leaning back on the couch. "No I'm not." "Can you stand still for more then a second?" Over the phone I heard her mutter something before a grunting. Yep she is drunk and on our first day here. "I'll come pick you up. Where are you?" I asked throwing my fuzzy blanket off of me and standing up. As I made it to my room I noticed it was 2 o'clock in the morning. "I don't know some huge ass house." She said but her voice was distant like she pulled her phone away from her mouth. "Fine I'll find you. Just stay there Mia." She didn't reply so I just hung up. Sliding on a pair of flats and a thin jacket I grabbed my phone and keys before hea

Chapter 4

"Babe get up. It is almost noon." I said shaking a snoring Mia. I had been up for a while unpacking the rest of our stuff in the living room and cleaning. I knew since classes started tomorrow neither Mia or I would want to finish unpacking and cleaning the place. Hearing a groan from her I kept nudging her shoulder. "Seriously Mia lets get up. You need a cup of coffee and some food." At the mention of coffee she peeked her head out from under the covers. "Coffee?" She asked cracking open one eye. I grinned and nodded. "Yes. You need to get some fresh air so we will go to the 95 Degrees and get some warm fresh coffee." "Can't you go get me some?" She whined putting a hand to her head, which I bet was pounding. "Nope you have to get out and get some fresh air. There is some Advil on your bedside table and water. Get up, throw on some clothes, and take them. We are leaving in 10 minutes." I said before turning and leaving her room. I heard her groan loudly behind me and grinned

Chapter 5

Of course like every first day of school, I didn't sleep. I tossed and turned the entire time only dozing off for a little while before snapping awake. So when my alarm went off at 6 o'clock I groaned. I wasn't ready to get up and having gotten use to sleeping in until at least 8 during the summer I was tired. Of course though the moment I realized it was the first day of college I jumped right out of bed. I quickly made my way to the shower down the hall wanting to look my best for the big day. I knew practically every girl would be doing the same thing as me today. Then give it a week of dressing up and I'll be back in my sweats. As I washed my long brown hair I thought over my class schedule already memorizing it. My first class at 8-10 was English 243. My second class 11-12 was Art 111B. And my final class of the day at 2-3:00 was Math 200. (I honestly don't know what class codes there are. Every school is different, so just go with it.) My schedule wasn't too hard this semeste

Chapter 6

Getting ice cream with my brother was a lot of fun. We talked about everything under the sky. I made sure though not to bring up Gabriel because I had a feeling that wouldn't go over so well. Cris can be very protective over stupid things like that. Plus I didn't plan on talking to Gabriel again, especially after the way he treated me earlier. Being a jerk doesn't get you anywhere. Just being with Cris and doing something normal to us made me feel a lot better. To me it helped make my first day of college better. I hadn't expected to feel this way or need my brother so much but I do and I am so glad I decided to go to Columbia instead of NYU. Sadly we couldn't stay and eat ice cream forever. Cris had to get back so he could get ready for the football game tonight. I knew it was a big deal for him and Andrew. First game of the season and they were hoping to take it all this year. I knew they could and probably would. When Cris set his eyes on something he wouldn't stop until he got

Chapter 7

Since I didn't have class the next day I slept in a little which was nice. Mia and I didn't get back in until midnight or so. It was no surprise that we won, our team destroyed the other team by 40 points. The game didn't even get over until 11 and we ended up staying as everyone left to see Cris and Andrew. By the time they came out and we all talked it was well after midnight. Thankfully Mia didn't have class until 11 so we both were able to sleep in some. When I couldn't sleep any longer I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. From the corner of my eye I noticed it was a little after 8 am. Yeah so much for sleeping in. All night I dreamt of Andrew and waking up to see that none of it was real didn't make me feel any better. I had dreamt that we had finally gotten together and were going out on our first date. Andrew had decided to take me to the fair where we had a blast. Of course it was too good to be true, I should have realized that when he showed up to our place claimin

Chapter 8

"You" We both said at the same time. I narrowed my eyes at Gabriel who in turned glared back at me. He was the friend Daniel had talked about and had run off to yesterday. "Wait you two know each other?" Daniel asked beside me. "Unfortunately." Gabriel said keeping his eyes on me. At his words I glared harder at him. "I wasn't the one being an ass." I bit out. "You came onto me." "I did not! I was thanking you not trying to sleep with you." I curled my lip at him. "It didn't seem like that." Gabriel said taking a step towards me. I had to crane my neck up to look at his face. His face looked a lot better and I couldn't help but wonder if he had some kind of salve for his cuts and bruises. Not replying I took that moment to look at him fully. Gone was his hoodie and a black t-shirt hugged his upper body. Muscular arms that I didn't know where under his hoodie were now stretching the arm holes of his shirt. Although he was fit and probably had abs under his shirt, you could

Chapter 9

The next day flew by pretty quickly and sooner than I thought it was Wednesday night and Mia and I were sitting on the couch watching Re-runs of Friends. My legs were hanging off the side of the couch while my head was on a pillow besides Mia's lap. Mia was curled up into a ball with a bowl of popcorn staring intently at the tv screen. My own popcorn bowl was laying on my stomach as I ate it. We both munched quietly on our popcorn as we watched the show with renewed interest even though we had seen every episode at least 3 times. You could never go wrong with Friends especially when there was nothing else on to watch. It was nearing 10 o'clock and we had been in the same position for a good hour. Both of us should have been getting ready for bed since we had class tomorrow but we still didn't move. Even though I only had one class left tomorrow I was ready for the weekend. The first week of college has really worn me out and I wanted nothing more than to sleep in and not do homewor

Chapter 10

The rest of Thursday and Friday went by quickly. I didn't do much other than do some homework as well as hang out at home. Mia and I stayed in catching up on shows as well as getting ahead on homework. It was now Saturday morning and the two of us were heading towards 95 Degrees to get some coffee and something to eat. In a few hours we were to head to my house for a barbecue. Even though we did see my parents just the other day my mom and Mia's had planned this barbecue weeks ago, so we were expected to be there. Not that we really minded. A home cooked meal and something to do. Usually more people would be at the barbecue but with everyone busy with work and kids it would only be Mia's family along side mine. I excepted the same thing to happen like always. My dad and Mia's, Luca, would man the grill while they talked about work or sports. My mom, Rose and Aunt Kiyara would be in the kitchen making other food and gabbing. Cris and Andrew would throw a football around or swim in the
